Pillar of Yita

Within the city, the curfew was enforced, and ordinary people would certainly not rashly let strangers stay in their homes. If Winter Heron had no place to stay, they might have to sleep on the streets.

Unfortunately, when the worst-case scenario might appear, it nearly always happens. As they stepped into the hall of Winter Heron, the receptionist indeed shook his head at them: ”Sorry, we’re fully booked.”

”Is there really no way?” Lady Kuisu asked with a frown.

The servant still shook his head.

However, at this moment, a voice suddenly came from behind them. ”It seems you are encountering some trouble,” it was a young girl’s voice. ”Do you need help?”

Everyone turned around.

Only to see that the speaker was a young maid, about the same age as Gita, but her mannerisms clearly indicated she came from a noble family.

Seeing everyone looking at her, she smiled kindly:

”Here’s the thing, my master has a reserved backup room here, and if you don’t mind, you can temporarily use it—”

”Miss Feyos.” The servant, upon seeing the young maid, hurriedly stood up.

The young maid nodded to him and then looked at Fang Hong and the others.

Fang Hong was a bit stunned.

With such a good opportunity, he was, of course, happy. However, for the sake of caution, he still asked: ”If that’s the case, that would be great, thank you very much... but won’t your master mind?”

After hearing him, the young maid couldn’t help but laugh, shaking her head. ”It’s fine,” she replied. ”My master is also happy to help adventurers like you, he often says people always need help—”

”But I still have some tasks,” the young maid continued: ”If you don’t mind, Mr. Ebert here can help you arrange things, I will go ahead.”

She was referring to the servant.

”My name is Feyos.” Then the young maid bowed to them and took her leave.

Everyone watched her walk in the direction opposite the Charlotte Leaf Building, her figure gradually disappearing on the other side of the square. After a while, Fang Hong turned back and asked the servant: ”Who was that young lady?”

The servant asked, ”You mean Miss Feyos?” He thought for a moment and replied: ”She is from the Phoenix Family, a maid of young master Enan, but rest assured, Miss Feyos often helps adventurers like you, and has no ill intentions...”

Lady Kuisu was slightly taken aback upon hearing this, showing a look of realization: ”Enan-Modkaiser, so it’s him.”

Seeing the others looking at her, this lady explained: ”I don’t know this young lady, but I have heard some stories about her master. Enan-Modkaiser is the youngest heir of the Phoenix Family, and I’ve heard he likes to associate with adventurers and has good relations with many adventurer groups near Dulun, many people have benefited from him.”

She continued: ”It’s a pity that this person is eccentric and is ostracized, the Duke doesn’t like him at all either.”

The servant also nodded: ”The lady is correct, but young master Enan is not eccentric, he just doesn’t fit in with those noble lords, and he treats people like us quite well.”

Generosity and friendliness, these descriptions on a noble heir might not necessarily be compliments. If there were Big Cat People here, they would likely say so. However, Fang Hong felt that the other party was quite nice, especially after just having received their kindness, he had even more affection for them.

However, the guide mentioned that young master Enan-Modkaiser might be facing some trouble recently—

Feyos’ master’s room was on the third floor, the best-lit and best-viewed room on the north side of the inn. As a room reserved for nobles, it was luxuriously furnished, needless to say clean and tidy, and it was laid with snow-white handwoven carpets. The case, upon touch, revealed to be made from Floating Dragon skin.

This kind of thing is rare, otherwise, Sir Roban would not have used it as a gift.

But as one of the three major families in the Southern Region, the Phoenix Family having this bit of wealth is not surprising. The other furnishings in the room were also quite luxurious. To have such a room for free was a pleasant surprise for Fang Hong and his group.

The servant handed them the key and told them that when they needed to check out, they only needed to return the key to the front counter.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but be curious, and asked: ”In that case, isn’t there a fear of outsiders stealing things?”

The servant looked at him with slight amusement, implying that in the Southern Region, no one dares to steal from the Phoenix Family.

Fang Hong realized he’d misspoken again, so he kept quiet.

Only then did Lady Kuisu inquire with the guide about what trouble the young master Enan-Modkaiser was facing.

The latter, cautiously looking around, said in a low voice: ”It’s related to the heirs of the Phoenix Family...”

The Phoenix Family is renowned in the Southern Region, and the legends of the First Generation Duke Phoenix and the Phoenix Holy Sword are certainly no less famous than the tales of Westwood Sibika family’s founder Lorren and the ’Rose Workshop.’

In fact, when the latter walked the continent under the alias Luo Zhen, the former had already gained fame. In comparison, the history of the Westwood Sibika family is actually not as old and long as that of the Phoenix Family.

And the succession of the Phoenix Family, centered around the story of the Phoenix Holy Sword, is naturally a story people in the Southern Region relish.
