Pillar of Yita

Sophie and Fang Hong came to the courtyard one after another. The Little Princess of Silver Weslan bent down and grabbed a handful of snow from the ground, pressed it into a snowball, and then forcefully threw it away. She watched the snowball draw an arc and disappear in the night before turning back to ask:

”What do you think about the things they talked about?”

Fang Hong knew she was referring to the dissolution of the Southern Region Alliance.

He gently shook his head. In truth, whether the Southern Region Alliance dissolved had little to do with their Adventure Group. They were just a small private Adventure Group, not yet at the height of worrying about Colin Ishurian or the China Competition Region.

However, what he was truly concerned about was those words spoken by the people from the ’Throne of Shadow’ and the Dragonfire Guild. Was their so-called big plan related to this matter? If so, what exactly was their plan?

Due to various reasons, they were already on opposing sides with the Dragon Worship Sect. With the cause of Miss Atira’s brother and Lady Kuisu’s son’s death still unclear, he certainly didn’t want to see the opponent’s conspiracy succeed and their forces grow stronger.

However, the Southern Region is so vast, where the plan will be implemented remains uncertain. He can’t just go knocking based on hearsay, not to mention whether their small Adventure Group is a match for Shadow Throne plus Dragonfire Guild, and the evidence is insufficient.

In the end, it still boils down to lack of strength. Otherwise, Invokers might have simpler solutions, freedom of belief would suffice, the rest is all about solving intricacy with force.

Luckily, this time they’re heading south with this goal in mind.

”What about you?” He didn’t answer, just asked in return.

”This is my task,” Sophie spread her hands to indicate her task was to gather information: ”So it doesn’t matter, you have great conditions here, Xi is like this, so I plan to join you first, anyway, you’re heading south, right?”

Fang Hong looked at her in surprise. ”You plan to temporarily join our team?”

”Why?” Sophie made another snowball, pretended to be angry, and acted as if she was going to throw it at him: ”Unwilling? Don’t forget my first time as the Silver Weslan’s Princess was handed to you!”

Fang Hong broke into a cold sweat, thinking about the implications of her words — if this got out, Silver Weslan fans would be lining up from Elpaxin to Golande to cause trouble for him — he nervously glanced back. Fortunately, Delice’s room was silent, and he shook his head hastily: ”Not that, it’s just your identity...”

The Little Princess of Silver Weslan chuckled: ”I’m not asking you to pay a penny, so why so nervous? You only need to arrange a cabin for me and Xi, and I’ll work for you for free. How’s that?”

This proposal was much more reliable than before.

Fang Hong wiped his sweat and replied dryly: ”... working feels too formal.”

”Hypocrite.”

”How is that hypocritical!?”

”Then we work, you pay.”

”No money.”

Fang Hong spread out his hands, quickly mastering the Papalarian’s special skill.

Sophie looked at him with disdain. Clearly, he was just a little miser: ”Words don’t match the heart—”

Fang Hong pretended not to hear.

But naturally, in his heart, he was eager for it; both were core members of the Silver Weslan Elite Youth Training Group, with undoubted combat power. Two extra fighters, why not? And it’s easier on the eyes with two beauties on board, isn’t it?

The wind outside gradually calmed down.

The latter half of the night in the valley became unexpectedly tranquil.

Sophie gazed at the ink-black night, her long lashes gently fluttering, and suddenly said: ”But the south might become chaotic...”

Seeing her suddenly serious, Fang Hong also looked into the distance and nodded.

The value of the Southern Region Alliance wasn’t just about integrating the various big and small Guilds into one entity; more importantly, it balanced the interests between large and small Guilds, Invokers, and the Native inhabitants. Once it disappeared, these problems would emerge.

Moreover, divisions had already arisen between big and small Guilds due to bias towards the BBK alliance or not, so conflict afterward is almost foreseeable.

Not to mention the struggle between the King and Prince, the Natives are likely to get sucked into this vortex as well.

And if chaos erupts in the south, it’s precisely what the Dragon Worship Sect would be happy to see.

Yet Fang Hong was somewhat puzzled in his heart: ”I don’t quite understand.”

”Don’t quite understand?” Sophie looked at him curiously.

”Why does the Super Competitive Alliance do this?” Fang Hong turned back: ”Ever since I arrived in the Stargate, every single thing I’ve heard about the Alliance has been negative. Is the profit really that important?”

He paused, then asked: ”I mean, doesn’t allowing the China Competition Region to develop positively and healthily best align with its interests?”

Sophie was silent for a moment.

Then she shook her head: ”Who knows?”

She looked into the distance and replied: ”Actually, the Super Competitive Alliance wasn’t like this before. After the V.E.M split, the newly formed Super Competitive Alliance stood on the side of fairness and justice. Even the establishment of Silver Weslan was deeply connected to the Alliance...”

”...but after the first Mount Holy Pact incident, everything changed, the Alliance’s way of doing things became more elusive. Its original unbiased stance was gradually lost, until the second Battle of Mount Holy Pact, it almost completely sided with the Grand Guild.”
