Pillar of Yita

Dark Fairy Tale heard the little girl’s shout and immediately felt something bad in his heart. He looked up towards Xiesta’s direction. Miss Maid was stretching her arms from behind, and amidst the chilling wind, a pair of gigantic arm armors appeared, with the metallic surface already low-temperature vaporized, like a pair of frosty giant fists.

She spread her arms wide and leapt down, resembling a giant eagle, swooping straight down.

”Watch out!” Dark Fairy Tale shouted loudly behind him.

The next moment, Xiesta landed heavily on the ground, kicking up a flurry of snow. Amidst the flying snowflakes, she raised her right hand, the arm armor directly pointed at Dark Fairy Tale, a soft ’woo’ sound emanated as the metallic flaps unfolded like the scales of a giant dragon, and a strong wind shrieked through its mouth, piercing through the snowstorm towards him.

Her movements were so swift that people only saw a trail of afterimage.

”Mongoose Leap, Lightning Reflex—” Dark Fairy Tale’s heart chilled; this was a Fighter of quite a high level—no, a Fist Saint—this was at least a Level 20 Fighter.

And the opponent’s arm armor was quite unusual; he had never seen this type of Fighter’s Magic Guided Conductor before.

Dark Fairy Tale took a step back, wrapped himself in his gray long cloak. His cloak was a very precious auxiliary Magic Guided Conductor, capable of perfectly resisting an attack not exceeding its protective limit.

The gray cloak swirled and blocked in front of him, with the Ether Patterns on it glowing faintly, revealing a hexagon shaped Magic Shield suspended in mid-air. But unexpectedly, the Wind Blade scattered before even approaching as it passed through the snowy ground, only raising an avalanche of snow.

”Not enough range—?”

Dark Fairy Tale was slightly taken aback. He raised his hand to shield against the flying snowflakes and at the same time sidestepped, anticipating someone’s pursuit by using a serpentine evasion commonly executed by Rangers.

This was to guard against someone tracking pursuit using visual advantage.

Additionally, he altered the landing point by going in a strange direction to be wary of the opponent anticipating his evasive position.

The three actions were almost executed seamlessly; a coherent tactic had already formed in his mind. Dark Fairy Tale felt his judgment should be flawless, but suddenly, he only saw a shadow flicker past his side.

Dark Fairy Tale turned around in astonishment—

While the young man lying on the ground saw things more clearly.

He saw Miss Maid land, turn around, and amidst the flurry of snow shoot out the Wind Blade, which dispersed in mid-air and unleashed a storm of snow towards the group of Ragnarok.

Then she powered forward like an arrow shooting towards the Ragnarok crowd, as if agreed with the Ranger leading them, who amidst the snowstorm sidestepped, letting her pass by.

Lying on the ground, the young man whose face had turned bluish-green from the cold suddenly held his breath.

Who was the opponent? He initially thought those on the platform were part of Ragnarok, but apparently, they were not, and the opponent displayed strength seemingly no less than Ragnarok’s members.

Names familiar to the world immediately flashed through his mind—

Was it Silver Weslan?

Or Elite?

Dark Fairy Tale turned back, seeing only Xiesta’s silhouette in the snow, dressed in black, charging like an agile black panther directly into the crowd.

He saw the direction, and his mind made a ’buzzing’ sound—it’s where the team’s Healer was located. But how did that woman know their Priest was in that location?

”Stop her!”

He shouted fiercely.

The warrior within the Ragnarok team reacted quickly, raising the Great Shield in his hand to block Miss Maid’s path. The Magic Guided Reactor behind him flashed briefly and the Ether Patterns on the Giant Shield lit up one by one, emitting a ’hiss’ sound while expelling four streams of white vapor sideways.

The Giant Shield sank down, settling firmly into the snow.

But Xiesta was undeterred, striking the Giant Shield directly with a punch, the metal flaps on her arm armor retracting from front to back, forming a sweeping shockwave centered at the point of impact.

The Great Shield caved backwards as if the air itself cracked. The Iron Guard only had time to curse out, ”Damn...” before both shield and him were sent flying back, pressed onto the Priest, sinking into the snow.

Moments later, a thunderous crash reverberated.

Overload Force, Burst Qi Strike—

A moment of silence amid the wind and snow.

Dark Fairy Tale did not expect the opponent to act so resolutely. The Burst Qi Strike required the Magic Guided Reactor to be in Overload State, instantly consuming two-thirds of the Mana Value to increase the next attack’s Attack Power by thirty percent and physical penetration.

This strike could not change its target mid-course, nor could it be diverted, and if missed, it would mean wasting two-thirds of the Mana and also using up the Magic Guided Reactor’s overload opportunity.

And this is the only Skill a Fighter—or Fist Saint below Level 40 could match an assassin’s single-target burst, albeit with much harsher usage conditions.

It’s not that no one uses it, but if used to kill a non-high-value target, it would place the Fighter in a disadvantageous situation; at least Dark Fairy Tale had never seen anyone use it in a solo fight facing many enemies.

And this inertia thinking caused them a massive loss.

He turned back to look towards the rear.

There, the Iron Guard wasn’t too bad off, just that the Giant Shield had lost more than half of its durability, but the Priest was in a bad situation, almost failing to be saved by the Shield. Severely injured, losing healing capability and dragging down another team Healer to extend his life.
