Pillar of Yita

She looked towards Fang Hong.

Fang Hong was completely dumbfounded.

So this was the origin of the Battle of the Long Summer.

And the Morning Dawn Star was thus destroyed—

His hand clenched into a fist under the sheets, and for a moment he couldn’t speak. It turned out that they were all but pawns in this huge vortex, unable to control their own destiny. How sad it was that they were placed on the chessboard without worth, yet they did not know for what they died.

The people from the Grand Guild and those who dominated everything were just like indifferent gamblers, coldly watching the chips increase and decrease on the table, not caring whether it represented someone’s entire effort turning into ashes.

Perhaps they were too weak, and that was why they were pawns.

Miya stood quietly in the shadow of the sunlight, watching the emotions change on Fang Hong’s face.

He might try to act mature, but at his core, he still had the naivety of a young boy. But in the end, they were the same kind of people, so she couldn’t really judge him. She thought for a moment before speaking softly,

”The Battle of the Long Summer is an extension of the Second World conflict. Before the start of the Long Summer War, the campaigns of the Former Alliance and the Rainbow Alliance in the Second World had already been in full swing. Do you know what happened the year before?”

Fang Hong paused, then shook his head. At that time, he must have been at Stargate Port, where he hadn’t been well-informed about the outside world for the past half a year.

”In an offensive last year, the Descendants of Flor issued a final ultimatum to a small guild in the Turbulent Hills to break the deadlock and open up a second battlefront. They demanded that they join the Descendants of Flor before the onset of the war and give up their route for a flanking attack—”

”But that small guild categorically refused the unreasonable demand of the Former Alliance.”

”However, the Descendants of Flor didn’t care whether the small guild agreed with their demand, because if the other party disagreed, they had ways to make them comply. This kind of incident was not uncommon in history, but this time, the subsequent development was beyond everyone’s imagination.”

”Because the name of that small guild was Mount Holy Pact—”

”The moment the Descendants of Flor declared war, countless Free Summoners and Adventure Groups also joined Mount Holy Pact as volunteers, standing opposite the Grand Guild for the first time—even some neutral guilds chose to stand on the side of justice. They called this battle, the Defense of Mount Holy Pact.”

”My guild, the BBK Alliance, naturally joined this battle as well.”

Fang Hong stared blankly at Miya.

So she really was the Witch of the Sea.

But why had she appeared in the First World as a person of Rotao?

Miya continued, ”As a member of a neutral guild, we stood with Mount Holy Pact. All of us together achieved a miraculous victory in that battle—preventing the Descendants of Flor army from advancing for three months, and with the cease-fire period set by the Super Competitive League drawing near, victory seemed at hand...”

”But it was at that moment, my guild, the BBK, suddenly turned their coats and announced they had joined the Descendants of Flor—”

”This left those of us on Mount Holy Pact in an awkward position.”

”Our comrades who had fought by our side became our enemies in that moment.”

”Fortunately, out of camaraderie from fighting side by side, the people of Mount Holy Pact did not make things difficult for us, but intended to send us out of the country respectfully—sometimes, Free Summoners are more upright and often possess more of a hero’s spirit than those Grand Guilds.”

”But heroes are mostly tragic beings.”

At this point, Miya fell silent for a moment.

”No one expected that someone in our squad would betray us, secretly undermining the heart of Mount Holy Pact’s city, which led to the failure of the defensive barrier.”

”By the time the people of Mount Holy Pact realized this, it was already too late, and the efforts of countless people over three months disintegrated in an instant.”

”All explanations became weak at that moment, and all that awaited us was a fight to the death.”

”My comrades fell one after another, and the Resurrection Temples near Mount Holy Pact were all under enemy control. I knew resurrection was meaningless,” Miya’s silver eyes seemed still to reflect the brilliance of that time: ”It seemed only right to die once more to atone for our sins—but I wanted to find the ones who betrayed us and ask why our guild made such a decision?”

”So at that moment, at the cost of losing my status as a Dragon Knight, I chose to be reborn in Eteliria and to reconstruct my character.”

Miya quietly looked at Fang Hong.

And Fang Hong was still immersed in the shock of this narrative—

”So you see me as you do now,” she gently touched her silver pointy ears, ”This appearance is in memory of a comrade I had at Mount Holy Pact, and I heard that they had failed after that.”

Her tone was very calm.

But what she spoke of was an unavoidable reality.

”I infiltrated the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team with my knowledge of the BBK Alliance. Of course, by then they were a part of the Descendants of Flor and no longer the guild I knew,” Miya replied, ”The rest of the story, as you know, I learned that the secret of the Hailin Crown lay hidden within the Golgon Ruins, something the Descendants of Flor had taken from Mount Holy Pact, and which never should have belonged to them—”

”That Star Dagger...”
