Pillar of Yita

Everyone heard a crisp gunshot at that moment, and Toragotos let out a furious screech, slashing the daring Dwarf who had touched his Holy Remains to pieces, only to find that the Light Cocoon, hit by a bullet from nowhere, had been knocked into the air again.

The Light Cocoon changed direction, flying towards the edge of the solitary island.

All Fang Hong did was look up.

He saw, at the zenith of the Pyramid, Hilveld cradling a breech-loading Magic Guided Gun, casually flicking her golden hair, squinting her eyes, and stretching out three fingers from afar, giving an OK gesture in this direction.

Then her figure vanished in that direction.

The Light Cocoon traced a parabola, falling towards the ground—Fang Hong gently patted Alice on the shoulder, then stood up.

What followed was his combat with Toragotos.

At this moment, Toragotos, nearly driven mad by mockery, landed on the ground, pressed a paw on the earth, his massive body immediately veered in that direction, and launched itself in a pounce. At the edge of the island, the Night Lizard People crawling there inside and outside, seemed only to come to their senses, but still didn’t understand what exactly had happened; they just blankly stood up, staring at the sinister Giant Dragon that had suddenly appeared in midair.

What was going on?

Wasn’t this a ritual to revive the great God Salrutaka?

Why had such a powerful Dark Being appeared?

And among all the Night Lizard People, only Prophet Kopan finally realized at this moment; though blind, he was particularly sensitive to Divine Strength. Besides, Salrutaka had finally conveyed the true Divine Oracle to him through the exchange between Toragotos and Fang Hong.

This aged Night Lizardman Prophet then understood he had been fooled earlier; his beard and hair stood on end as he raised his wooden Magic Wand high and shouted, ”Stop it, don’t let it get to that Light Cocoon, this is the Divine Oracle of my God!”

”This is all a plot by Toragotos!”

A Flash shot out from his Magic Wand, striking the back of Toragotos. Although it could not harm the mighty Giant Dragon—which merely wrestled slightly to break free from the spell’s bind, even causing Prophet Kopan to spit out blood—the strike did hinder its forward speed.

The Light Cocoon fell to the ground, precisely landing at the feet of those Night Lizard People. The moment Toragotos was obstructed, some fearless Night Lizard People had already dashed ahead, picking up the Light Cocoon and running forward for their lives.

But he had just crossed the long bridge connecting the solitary island when a severe tremor came from outside. The Night Lizard People lost their balance and fell from the bridge.

However, this Zealot of Salrutaka, in the final moments, exerted all his strength, hurling the Light Cocoon in his hand towards the top of the Pyramid there, trying to pass it to his kind outside.

After performing this act, he fell into the Abyss in despair, instantly engulfed by darkness.

While everyone watched, the Light Cocoon flew forward, as it had been thrown out in urgency, it accidentally missed everyone, falling to the ground and rolling forward, continuing all the way to the entrance of a Pyramid.

It rolled to a stop beside a pair of boots.

At that place, a young man wrapped in a black robe, with a high collar, wearing a pointed wizard hat and a black butterfly-shaped mask, was stepping out from the entrance. He paused, before instinctively bending down to pick up the Light Cocoon.

”What’s this?” he couldn’t help but mutter to himself.

The person who had arrived was Xiangzi, who had long since disappeared and was last seen acting with Ran Qingzhu and others.

Fang Hong was about to launch his Rocket Fist in that direction, but upon seeing Xiangzi suddenly appearing and holding the Light Cocoon, he couldn’t help but burst out joyously, yelling, ”Xiangzi, that’s the Holy Remains of Salrutaka, don’t let Toragotos get it!”

Xiangzi looked up and saw Fang Hong and the Dark Giant Dragon flying toward him.

But after thinking for a moment, he burst into a wildly crazed laugh, ”Wait, could this be the source of Toragotos’ strength? If I’ve obtained it, wouldn’t I reach the pinnacle of life, invincible in the world?”

As soon as these words were spoken.

The entire Pyramid Valley, the entire King’s Square fell silent.

Everyone stared at the youth, dumbfounded.

Toragotos’ golden-red pupils also flashed with light, performing a sudden stop midair, as it suddenly remembered it needed a human to bear the power of the Holy Remains, and here was a perfect candidate before it.

So, it spoke with a deep, enticing voice, ”You are right, human, do you want to become a god?”

”Become a god?” Xiangzi looked up, his eyes sparkling beneath the mask.

”Exactly, if you take it and absorb the power sealed within Salrutaka,” Toragotos said with a sinister grin, ”you can truly possess all its power and the Divine Fire, and ultimately transform into a true deity.”

”Human, do you want to collaborate with me?”

But what it least expected was, after asking this question, Xiangzi suddenly burst out laughing with a ’pfft’, looking at it as if it were a fool and shaking the Light Cocoon in his hand, ”Haha, become a god with just this thing? Do you think I’m an idiot? I was just joking around, and you took it seriously, how embarrassing!”

Toragotos opened its mouth wide—it had envisioned countless responses and possibilities, but it had never expected such a reply from the other party.

Before it could react, Xiangzi had already raised his hand and forcefully thrown the Light Cocoon forward, yelling at the same time, ”Captain, catch it!”

Toragotos instinctively turned around, knowing Fang Hong was right behind it, thinking it might still intercept the Holy Remains.

But as everyone watched in silence—

The direction Xiangzi threw the Light Cocoon was oddly off—yet just in that direction, a claw reached out and firmly caught the Light Cocoon. The one who caught it, of course, was not Fang Hong, but Tainaric who emerged from that direction, followed by the Papalarians.

The teenage boy gave Fang Hong a distant wink, and Fang Hong couldn’t help but give him a thumbs up, silently muttering, ”Nice.”

And only at this moment,

did a chill deeply descend in Toragotos’ heart.
