Pillar of Yita

This was clearly the mark that the other party had left in his mind beforehand; Fang Hong quickly realized it must have been when he made the agreement with the Evil God, who took advantage of the opportunity to tamper with him.

Fang, gritting his teeth, knew dealing with these Evil Gods meant he could never let his guard down. Fortunately, he had Miss Tata, and this was a lesson for him. Meanwhile, Salrutaka let out an annoyed shout:

”Dragon Soul!”

”You’re actually a Dragon Knight!”

Though it hadn’t gained an advantage, it had already invaded Fang Hong’s mind and was unwilling to give up just yet, thus continuing to stalemate within his consciousness.

Fang Hong felt helpless, his head splitting with pain; his hand stretching towards the Obelisk halted midway and could not move forward an inch.

As the fierce tug-of-war between the two unfolded, Salrutaka’s somewhat nonchalant voice sounded again:

”Little fellow, you and I are fighting here, but don’t forget there’s a third party involved.”

”Work with me; let me revive, and I will make you my foremost God’s Choice.”

”I’ll also try to keep Fenris as intact as possible. I’m not like that guy Toragotos; don’t forget I am a True God.”

Fang Hong of course knew who it referred to.

But having just suffered a major setback from this being, how could he possibly trust it? He gritted his teeth and responded, ”It seems Toragotos doesn’t have much affection for you either. When he comes, I may not necessarily have to die, but you will definitely perish before me—”

Salrutaka then fell silent upon hearing this, but as it was being threatened by Fang Hong, it simply chose not to speak anymore.

Though they said their piece, Fang Hong already felt something approaching from behind, and what surged first was a shocking wave of heat as a black flame swept over from there, burning through the fog behind it.

The breath attack of the Dark Giant Dragon.

Fang Hong had actually been guarding against this move; when he questioned some people previously, in their description, at Alice’s slight gesture, the Chosen would vanish into smoke and the scene left behind resembled the aftermath of a battlefield scorched by flames and spells.

Alice naturally didn’t have this capability, and the Dark Giant Dragon wouldn’t use spells either; thus, what was left was the Giant Dragon’s innate ability to breathe fire.

But he hadn’t expected the opponent to save it for this moment.

Toragotos was sly and old; clearly, he had chosen an excellent moment. Fang Hong, unable to move, seemed unable to resist. Just as the flame reached him, a pale glow sprung from his right hand, forming a protective dome around him.

Fang Hong only heard Salrutaka scream in agony, the pressure in his mind easing somewhat.

He stumbled forward, falling to the ground.

It was Pale Glory.

Fang Hong quickly realized what had saved him, but he dared not hesitate for a moment, immediately scrambling up from the ground and lunging towards the Obelisk. And just then, as if breaking through the fog, a pair of huge wings appeared; Toragotos had emerged.

With a flap of its wings, Fang Hong was horrified to find that the pale blue light by his side flickered and disappeared.

This scene was strikingly similar to back in Dolifen, when Nikopolas launched an attack on him—

In that instant, Fang Hong realized that Toragotos’s avatar was at least on the same level as the Shadow of Nikopolas, unlike those half-formed Dark Giant Dragons outside; Pale Glory couldn’t block it for long.

And it seemed Toragotos had anticipated this scene, its golden-red eyes coldly looking at him, devoid of any emotion—it lunged directly at him, and Fang Hong was blown away by the airstream from its wings, passing by the Obelisk.

”It’s over!”

In that moment, Fang Hong’s heart sank.

Turning back, he could only see how Toragotos got closer and closer, its huge shadow blocking everything and its claw reaching towards his chest.

But the scene Fang Hong imagined, of being pierced through the heart, did not occur.

Because, to his utter astonishment, just as Toragotos’s claw struck his chest, a brilliantly bright golden light burst forth, and then he heard Toragotos scream:

”What the hell is this!”

But Fang Hong had seen what it was.

Within that golden light, was a ring hung around his neck by a chain—on that ring, a glow like flowing Golden Flame or perhaps the light of molten lava, was now shining brightly.

And the tips of the claws that Toragotos touched were dissolving into black mist, fogging up from its claw, spreading to its forearm, upper body, and then to its entire torso.

It seemed as if a vortex had formed on the golden ring, endlessly sucking in the avatar of Toragotos, no matter how it wailed or flapped its wings, it couldn’t escape.

Meanwhile, the scream of Salrutaka came through:

”Quick! Throw that thing away!”

But why would Fang Hong heed it?

He observed as the fog around the Obelisk surged, funneling into the golden ring, different colored mists each forming a vortex swirling into the ring.

And that golden ring seemed to be getting brighter, shining like the sun.

Eventually, at a certain moment, the fog above the Pyramid cleared completely, the chill in Fang Hong’s mind finally vanished, and Toragotos, with a long wail, completely dissipated.
