Pillar of Yita

The pyramid was crawling with Night Lizard People, and she risked exposing herself with any carelessness.

At this moment, Virus’s words also came through the communication channel. Due to the extreme instability of the A3 class Ether channel at this time, the Ice Queen’s voice was also full of distortion, not only intermittent but also somewhat hoarse, ”Right now you’d better... bring the Light Cocoon to... the side of that Obelisk.”

”We previously... analyzed the information you provided. If... that Obelisk... really bears the Numelin Elves’ Sealing, then... the best way now... is to strengthen that Sealing...”

”How do we strengthen it?” Fang Hong asked.

At that moment, a Night Lizardman, seemingly insane, bared its teeth and claws and charged towards him—he unreasonably had no Light Cocoon on him—Fang Hong had no choice but to order the Energy Angel to stop the other party. Unexpectedly, the Night Lizardman, as if eager for death, crashed headlong into the Energy Angel’s sword, and its head was severed from its body.

The headless corpse tumbled to a stop beside him.

Fang Hong was stunned, then heard Virus continue, ”What Toragotos told you before... not all of it was a lie. Underneath... there is indeed a massive... Sealing, it’s just... we didn’t know its... exact location before.”

”The Milaila Temple... probably cooperated... with it for that very reason. That... Demi-God Artifact... might not be fake. We... received the last message from... Cloud Harbor...”

”Milaila... has manifested, and assuming... that Lizardman... Prince from Andasok is on our side... he confirmed earlier that the other tribes’ Lizardman Elders did not collude with Toragotos... If this isn’t a lie...”

”Then the words that Toragotos said to you guys at that time... are probably... half-true, half-false. You indeed carry Milaila’s Divine Strength on you... through the Demi-God Artifact.”

Fang Hong had already come to understand, meaning that the method Toragotos spoke of to strengthen the Sealing was indeed real.

He suddenly realized, because the most realistic lies often use seemingly normal means to achieve unspeakable ends. The Colin Ishurian Artisan Association and the Milaila Temple weren’t fools; if Toragotos had been spewing nothing but lies, they wouldn’t have failed to perceive it beforehand.

The only possibility was that most of the legendary Giant Dragon’s plans were true, even including its cooperation and dealings with Milaila— it only concealed its most core secret. Precisely because of this, it had managed to deceive the world for hundreds of years, advancing its true agenda.

The legendary Giant Dragon was so confident.

In its perfect plan, it was nearly impossible for anyone to reach the Obelisk at the thirteenth layer at this moment, plus with the Light’s Cocoon still in its possession, everything seemed seamless— and indeed it appeared to be so. If it weren’t for some coincidental factors—supposing he hadn’t been here, hadn’t encountered Miss Hilveld, hadn’t the map below, or had been unable to connect with the military, or if Alice hadn’t brought the legendary daggers he gave to her sister.

Toragotos could indeed have been said to be successful.

But in this world, there are no ifs, sometimes man’s calculations are destined to fail against heaven’s.

These thoughts flashed through Fang Hong’s mind in an instant, and then Virus’s voice in the communication channel became more and more intermittent and unclear, until it finally went completely silent.

Fang Hong called out several times, but there was no response. He then realized that the unstable Ether channel had finally collapsed due to the violent changes in the Underground World of Fenris Isle.

All that remained in the communication channel was a rustling noise, and now they could only rely on the few of them left.

Not far away, after Hilveld shot down Prophet Kopan, Tainaric finally carved a bloody path out from the Night Lizard People’s encirclement, bringing the Light Cocoon to his side. But his expression wasn’t relaxed, he simply said in a deep voice, ”Ade, those Night Lizard People are acting strange.”

Fang Hong was stunned for a moment, then snapped back and looked around.

He immediately understood what Tainaric meant by strange, as he saw the Night Lizard People who had previously been crawling on the ground, now standing up. As if possessed, they walked down in rows to the edge of the cliff below and then leapt into the Abyss in unison.

Because there were so many Night Lizard People, the scene was downright chilling.

When Fang Hong saw this spectacle, his mind buzzed and goosebumps rose on his skin. He hadn’t forgotten that what lay below was a vast Ritual Ground—these harvested lives of the Night Lizard People were clearly transforming into nourishment for Salrutaka—their ’merciful’ god was indeed not idle.

It wanted to break the Sealing.

And this was precisely the original objective of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team and the Night Lizard People.

Realizing this, Fang Hong immediately turned back and waved to Tainaric, ”To the side of that Obelisk!”

With that, he turned and ran towards the center of the islet, where a long staircase formed a stepped Pyramid altar, and at the top of the altar floated the tall Obelisk.

Besides the north side of the altar, which featured a giant black vortex, you could reach the top of the altar from other directions.

Fang Hong chose the direction closest to the two of them, the west side of the altar.
