Pillar of Yita

Silver Weslan and Elite, as well as the guilds related to the interests of the Silver Forest Crown, might have some countermeasures, but on the other hand, the forces behind the Descendants of Flor are not to be trifled with either. Ambassador Liao understood that the current internal divisions within the Super Competitive League were just so. Stargate Port could offer some guidance, but ultimately, it would depend on the power games played behind the scenes.

Before the results were out, it was unlikely that the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team would cooperate with their investigations, especially since guild interests were inevitably involved.

He could only settle for second best, ”What about the twin sisters then?”

”Miss Elisa mentioned more, only saying that Mr. Xiaya seemed not to be a local from Fenris but was also unclear about the other’s specific origins, though we suspect she was not telling the whole truth.”

”As for Miss Alice, she doesn’t know much more than any other members of the Rain Listener Brigade.”

Ambassador Liao was silent for a moment, then asked, ”Are his team members all from Silver Weslan?”

”Not all.”

”That Andasok Lizardman seems to be a native. Another one, a Papalarian, is not a player from our China Competition Region. We are temporarily unable to obtain his ID number and are applying for coordination with the European Union.”

”There’s also a young man who seems to be a reservist of the Rain Listener Brigade, but he too has no ID number. We have investigated, and he entered Stargate Port through private means via the guilds’ connections, and has not yet had time to register with us.”

”Mr. Ambassador, you know these things happen often, and we can’t stop it entirely, while the Rain Listener executives originally responsible for this issue have disappeared, and now the Super Competitive League also has no punishment method available.”

Ambassador Liao could only place the documents in his hand on the table.

”What about news from Stargate?”

”No news yet, Mr. Ambassador,” the other party replied, ”Stargate is in a busy period, and sorting out identities usually takes half a month to a month. Although we have dispatched additional personnel, we still haven’t found the people who came out of Stargate at that time.”

They added another sentence, ”However, as long as those people stay in the psychological counseling area, we believe we will soon have a result.”

”Then let’s start by investigating the ships that recently left the Rainbow Bay Area,” replied Ambassador Liao. ”Since Mr. Xiaya is not a local from Fenris, he must have left the Rainbow Bay Area on the eve of the storm, go coordinate with the Colin Ishurian Artisan Association to investigate the identities of every ship that left the port at that time.”

Everyone nodded and then turned to leave.

Ambassador Liao just watched their departing figures, but his mind pondered over more matters. The military had already issued a death command to find the young man named Xiaya, but in the half month between the two worlds, ever since he and the altar sank into the ground, there had been no news.

He hadn’t reappeared in Eteliria, nor at Stargate Port, even the military personnel who went underground to search came back empty-handed.

At this moment, Charter City was tying up a large number of people, and Cloud Harbor’s reconstruction work also required manpower—Colin Ishurian Kingdom’s cooperation with the nation was even more closely interwoven after this incident.

Because of this, the foreign affairs department also issued instructions to participate in the reconstruction work of Fenris.

With the trouble from a month ago, Stargate Port’s manpower was also stretched thin.

In this troublesome autumn, Ambassador Liao couldn’t help but sigh softly.

...

As if waking from a long confusing dream, Fang Hong remembered seeing many things in that long dream, from the battle at the Elf Ruins to the life-and-death struggle in Dolifen, and then to the underground of Fenris, the ancient Obelisk, and all the conspiracies behind it.

At this moment, the memories became clear, first was Toragotos’s fierce face and Salrutaka’s cold smile, which seemed to merge into one in a mist, rushing towards him.

Fang Hong felt as if he couldn’t move, as if he could only watch helplessly as it all happened.

Then, in his horror, he saw a golden light rising from the darkness.

At the center of that golden light was a shiny, burning pupil.

It seemed to scream sharply at him:

”Wait, human, one day, you will fall into my hands!”

That was Nikopolas’s voice.

And that golden light seemed to turn into a bonfire’s flame in a blink, and among the rising sparks, Fang Hong felt as though he was back at that night in Traveler’s Rest, where he saw Mazak’s resolute face behind it.

He reached out and handed over a ring flowing like lava.

”Take it, go find someone.”

That was the Ring of Golden Flame.

Fang Hong was suddenly startled, then fell from the dreamland, as if opening his eyes through a mist—then he saw the flowing warm sunlight and the beautiful, green window frames, it seemed like a quiet afternoon.

The first thing he saw was his system interface lighting up.

It still had a line of notification:

’Knowledge mission completed, gained 78320 cognitive experience points.’

But there was no higher menu or name display for the mission, just a hint that he had participated in a Knowledge event. Fang Hong was almost bewildered for a moment before realizing why—he was not the main participant in the mission.

He gradually recollected what had happened before, in the midst of his haziness, faintly feeling that the main participants of the mission might have been two people.

One was Alice.

The other was Tainaric.

Then he slowly came back to his senses, only to see behind the system menu, a face somehow breathtakingly beautiful.

That was silver hair, set against the afternoon sun, glittering; a pair of long, pointed ears with silver down, gently quivering, the girl was also looking at him, there in those deeply poetic silver eyes—

Once again, Fang Hong saw that familiar elegance and serenity, but the latter just smiled faintly, asking him in a familiar tone:

”Awake?”

Fang Hong’s mouth fell open.

At that moment, he still thought he was dreaming.

”It was Little White who saved you,” Miya fiddled with her pointed ears, answering softly, ”Of course, and your beautiful Miss Ship’s Officer—”

”But, how come you are here?”
