Pillar of Yita

Now, their greatest hope was all pinned on him alone, and precisely because of this, the weakest link in the chain was actually on him.

Without a doubt, the latter’s judgment was very accurate.

He hurriedly pulled up the cable in his hands, his figure instantly rose, causing Toragotos to crash headfirst into the wall there. After a loud bang, dust and stones flew about, tumbling down into the abyss below.

But the Dark Giant Dragon was unharmed, immediately revealing its huge form from the dust, its claws clinging to the rock wall as it quickly climbed after him in this direction.

Fang Hong felt a chill at the sight and had no time to see which direction Tainaric had fallen, he could only continue to climb upwards while directing the Energy Angel with the Light Cocoon to dodge the falling rocks from above.

Thus, a man and a dragon engaged in a chase on this nearly vertical solitary island.

However, Fang Hong’s speed was clearly slower, even with the help of the Flying Claw, Toragotos was getting closer and closer, while the last Energy Angel was still charging and temporarily not ready for use.

Soon, the man and the dragon were extremely close, amid the chaos only a few gunshots were heard, Fang Hong knew that was Hilveld covering for him, but it was to no avail.

Toragotos forcefully pushed off the rock wall with both claws and unexpectedly opened its wings to dive towards him.

Every person outside the screen involuntarily held their breath at this scene, in their eyes Fang Hong was nearly successful by now, but that hope seemed so close yet so far.

Toragotos dove straight at him, and the next moment, the young man suddenly disappeared.

Everyone’s mouth hung open.

It took them quite a while to come to their senses.

Invisibility Potion—

The moment Fang Hong turned invisible, he shot out the Flying Claw, turning in another direction, Toragotos indeed missed again. The brief duration of the invisibility potion gave Fang Hong his final chance, he looked up, the island holding the Obelisk was just above the altar.

He gasped for air, climbing to the top of the altar using both hands and feet, and met up with the Energy Angel, then took the Light’s Cocoon from its hand. Without a moment’s pause to catch his breath, he immediately took out the third Energy Angel—the one that had never been used until now.

He then looked up again, estimating the distance, at this moment he was but forty or so feet away from the Obelisk above, the Energy Angel couldn’t blink vertically, but three diagonal blinks would surely be more than enough.

Fang Hong only then lowered his head to adjust his Reinforced Gloves.

As he expected, invisibility still lasted for a few moments, Toragotos would take a while to react. But to his surprise, in another direction of vision, a figure suddenly appeared at this moment.

It was Prophet Kopan.

The old and blind Night Lizardman had somehow also climbed to the top of the altar, and with just one glance at him, Fang Hong felt a chill in his heart.

He almost immediately realized, it wasn’t Kopan, but Salrutaka. Because in the other’s supposedly blind eye sockets, there were two crimson glows. The figure looked at him from a distance, coldly smiling:

”I will truly appreciate your help, human.”

Then it raised the wooden magic wand in its hand, and a dazzling red light shot towards Fang Hong from the wand.

At the same moment.

The distorted image on King’s Square finally disappeared completely after a series of blinks.

Leaving everyone looking at each other as if asking—did we fail?

Did their hero fall at the last moment?

At this very moment, inside the emergency situation command center, silence prevailed as well.

Ambassador Liao stood still, motionless.

The usually composed him, at this moment, was slightly trembling as he held the documents, waiting for an answer to come—after a moment, a voice from the intelligence department came through the communication channel.

The voice was also slightly trembling:

”Mr. Ambassador...”

”The Ether Reaction on Fenris Isle... seems to be weakening...”
