Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Awkward

Serea had thought a lot about how to return the Mark.

She wondered, if she used ”that kind” of method to return the ”Queen’s Mark” to Lola as usual, wouldn’t both of them feel very awkward? Besides, Celia was generally always by her side—it simply wasn’t convenient.

So now, was this the best time to return the ”Queen’s Mark”? Doing it while Lola was completely unaware...

Thinking of this, Serea hesitated for a moment, but finally made up her mind.

Whatever! She’d just settle this in one go and return the Mark; she could explain everything later.

With this thought, Serea prepared to act...

Yes, that’s right—everything was just for the sake of returning the ”Queen’s Mark.”

There was no other motive!

Serea simply waited, and it seemed Lola and her companions were exhausted from the day’s activities, so they soon fell asleep.

Seeing Lola’s breathing gradually become steady, Serea mustered her courage, and as she faced Lola’s beautiful and alluring sleeping form, she closed her eyes.

Just a moment. As long as she could return the ”Queen’s Mark,” just a moment would do.

Serea hypnotized herself this way in her heart, and then she slowly approached Lola, almost about to...

”So this is what you had in mind?”

Celia’s voice suddenly rang out, startling Serea. She quickly turned her head and saw Celia had turned over and was staring at her.

”So, in other words...”

Disgust flashed in Celia’s eyes. Fearing that her words might wake Lola, Serea hurriedly covered her mouth with her hand.

”No, it’s not what you think! Please, let me explain!”

”...”

As Celia made no attempt to struggle with her mouth covered, Serea explained her reasons to Celia through Dogsius’s spirit connection.

After listening, Celia moved her head, and Serea removed her hand from Celia’s mouth.

”If that’s really your reason, wouldn’t it be easier to just talk to her face-to-face? Why act so sneakily?”

Celia said this, and seeing that neither Lola nor Vina looked to be waking up—both sleeping deeply—Serea breathed a sigh of relief and continued speaking.

”Don’t you think that would be even more awkward? And besides...”

As she spoke, Serea glanced at Celia.

”And besides, Celia, you might mind, right?”

Serea said, now leaning close to Celia’s body. She could clearly feel Celia tremble a little, but Celia stubbornly replied,

”Why would I care about something like that?”

”But isn’t this ’Serea’s’ body?”

”...”

Celia fell silent. After a few seconds, she suddenly said,

”I don’t care. Do as you wish.”

Celia spoke, and after she finished she tried to turn her head to avoid looking at Serea, but unfortunately, since she was at the edge of the tent, it was hard to turn her body. Meeting Serea’s gaze, she saw that teasing smile on her face.

”Ah~ Hehe, is Celia just saying the opposite of what she means? Are you jealous?”

”How on earth did you get that idea? I—”

Before she could finish, her mouth was abruptly blocked. Facing Serea, who was suddenly so close, Celia was a little flustered.

Serea then quickly pulled her head away.

”There, now you won’t get jealous, right?”

”That’s such a childish idea.”

Celia said this, and because of the darkness, Serea couldn’t clearly see the look on Celia’s face. But noticing Celia hurriedly turn her body away, Serea revealed a mischievous grin.

Wanting to mess with Celia, Serea gently leaned in and hugged her from behind.

”Celia, your body is so warm. Let me hug you while I sleep.”

Feeling the soft body pressed against her, Celia stiffened a bit and said coldly,

”Go back to your own spot! I want to sleep!”

”Hehe, let’s just sleep like this. After all, this is ’Her Highness’s’ body.”

Saying this, Serea hugged Celia even tighter. She wasn’t entirely sure why she was acting like this, but Serea just felt that hugging Celia tightly put her at ease.

This sense of security was both physical relaxation and comfort for her soul.

”If you want to sleep like this, then whatever. Just stop bothering me.”

”So late already!”

Serea made a strange sound, and upon hearing this, Celia was stunned.

Feeling the delicate hands hugging her, Serea was facing the same predicament as Celia.

Serea wanted to turn around, but the warmth behind her made her whole body tense and she dared not make any move.

”Lo... Lola!”

Recognizing who was behind her, Serea called out her name, but Lola did not respond at all. She seemed to be sound asleep, yet even as she slept, she muttered under her breath.

”Que... Queen, don’t leave us...”

A struggling expression appeared on Lola’s face, as if she was having a nightmare, and this sentence sent ripples through Serea’s heart.

So she was truly this important to Lola and the others? As a vampire herself, she really...

”Don’t leave...”

Lola hugged her even tighter, and this gesture interrupted Serea’s train of thought. The next words out of Lola’s mouth struck Serea like thunder and left her frozen in place.

”Please...please, Your Majesty, bestow blood kin upon Lola, so the offspring of the vampires may continue within the Darkmoon clan.”

System: Due to the extremely low natural birth rate within the vampire race, once a royal vampire grows to a certain level they usually use their own strength to form a blood seed, which is then used by other vampires and vassal clans to bear pure-blooded vampires. This is how the vampires preserve their royal bloodline...

”Stop, stop, stop! This isn’t the time for a lesson like that!”

Right now Serea’s situation was quite awkward... and honestly, rather enviable...

Returning the Mark and all that—she supposed it was enough for tonight.

Actually, this chapter should have had 2300 words, but... well, it’s only 2000 words.
