Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Kind-hearted Flosa

”Haha, darling, here I come!”

After removing their equipment, the two men jumped straight at them. Doluka turned her head away in disgust at the sight, but, contrary to her expectation, no body landed on hers.

Pfft!

A spear shot out, piercing straight through one man’s chest. Without the protection of armor, his heart was instantly shredded.

The other man sensed something was wrong and turned his head, only to see a black rod swinging rapidly toward him.

The spear spun, and the wooden shaft struck the unprotected soldier squarely on the temple. The impact sent him toppling to the ground; it seemed he’d been knocked out cold in a single blow.

”This is...”

”The power granted to me by the Queen! Well? Pretty impressive, right? Let’s see if any of you still dare to look down on me.”

Dorulu puffed out his chest proudly.

”Save the boasting, help me untie these ropes first.”

”Alright.”

The spear floated in mid-air—Dorulu controlled it, neatly slicing the ropes binding them.

With their mobility restored, Doluka rifled through the soldiers’ armor and clothes. She found the key to the magic-suppressing shackles and used it to unlock both hers and Dorulu’s restraints.

Just as Dorulu regained freedom, he stomped hard on the chest of the unconscious soldier.

”Tch, scum, trying to touch me?”

Looking at her somewhat unfamiliar younger brother, Doluka asked, ”Just what exactly have you learned from the humans...?”

”Aww, haven’t we regained our freedom now? No need to fuss about stuff like that.”

With that, Dorulu used the spear to make a cut on the unconscious soldier. He then extended his hand, and a stream of blood surged from the two soldiers’ bodies.

Bloodthirst!

However, unlike ”Blood Absorption”, which could turn blood into blood Crystals, this weakened version—”Bloodthirst”—could only grant the power of blood, which could then be used to heal wounds or supply other blood magic.

Now that Dorulu had the blood of these enemies, he no longer needed to worry about wasting so much blood power and falling into a state of ”anemia.”

Once drained, the two soldiers shriveled into dried corpses, and the weakened form of ”Blood Spring”—that is, ”blood power”—floated in a red liquid orb in Dorulu’s palm.

This was the power of the blood elves!

”Dorulu, you’ve mastered the same power as Queen Serea!”

”Hehe, told you it was bestowed by the Queen. Sister, if you obediently take the ’Blood Spring’ every day, you’ll get this power one day too.”

After saying this, Dorulu glanced toward the armor scattered on the ground.

”But for now, we need to escape and find the Queen.”

As he spoke, Dorulu consumed some blood power. A strange, blood-red pattern suddenly appeared on the armor.

Weapon Blood Blessing!

Suddenly, the armor stirred. It floated up and assembled itself into a humanoid shape, grasping a longsword in its hand.

”Sis, let’s go.”

Dorulu helped the wounded Doluka, and the two of them prepared to escape the camp under the protection of the animated ”armor.”

But when they had just reached the main gate, a man in a mage’s robe happened to come their way.

He held food in his hands, apparently bringing them their meal.

”Let’s wait.”

Seeing this, Dorulu and Doluka retreated into the house.

The man noticed nothing amiss and entered the house with the food. But upon seeing the dried corpses on the floor, he instantly became wary.

”Don’t move. Walk in slowly.”

A blade was pressed to his throat. With no way out, he gulped and stepped inside.

Seeing the now freed elves, flosa dared not be rash. For the sake of his own life, he hurriedly explained,

”I mean no harm. I came to set you free. I feel very guilty about what happened before.”

Just as Flosa said, he had indeed dismissed the extra guards. Now, he intended to use some ’small trick’ to make the magic-suppressing shackles fail, so he could help the two elves free themselves. Such a ”little trick” would go unnoticed by anyone.

As for whether the two could escape after the shackles were off, that was none of his concern. He simply wanted to ease some of his guilt.

But to his surprise, the two elves were a step faster. Not only had they unlocked the shackles, they’d also killed the guards. At this rate, he now had to worry for his own safety—especially since Doluka’s blade was now at his throat.

Hearing his explanation, Doluka, accustomed to human lies, gave a cold snort.

”Kind-hearted? My leg doesn’t think so.”

Doluka still remembered that it was this man who’d attacked her with magic.

”I was forced. I really didn’t want to hurt you. If you’re willing to spare me, I can help you escape.”

”You really think I’d still believe you? We could just kill you right now and escape on our own.”

Doluka’s tone was icy. Clearly, she no longer intended to trust humans. But at that moment, Dorulu interjected,

”Sis, let’s trust him one more time. He knows the perimeter’s strength. If he can’t get us out, he’ll never leave this jungle either. I bet a respected mage like himself values his own life dearly.”

”...”

Doluka hesitated, then nodded in agreement.

”Fine. But you’d better not try anything, or you know what happens.”

”I won’t.”

”Then tell us—how do you plan to get us out?”

”It’s dinner time now, so the wall is barely guarded. You can hide in the foliage around the Elf Tree, then find a chance to climb the wooden wall from there.”

”Ha, and you’re not afraid your comrades will know you’ve betrayed them?”

”First, I’m being forced—you’ve got a blade to my throat, I don’t have a choice. Second, I studied abroad at the Central Magic Academy of the Holy Dragon Empire. Mage Annika from the Empire has already invited me. As long as I complete this mission, I’ll become Annika’s disciple—and he’s none other than the chief disciple of the Empire’s Great Mage Desertwind. So, I don’t need to worry about them making things hard for me.”

”...”

Hearing this, Doluka was relieved.

”Looks like you have a pretty impressive status, then. In that case, we’ll trouble you to be our escort.”

Doluka said this with the intention of using Flosa as a hostage if they were discovered. Flosa, too, understood that as long as he revealed his own noble status, others wouldn’t dare kill him easily.

”No problem.”

With Flosa taken hostage, he had no room to resist.

So, Doluka put the magic-suppressing shackles on him again, just in case.

”Let’s go.”

Outside, the sky was already dark, with only a few lights illuminating the elven village. Once they left the wooden house, all they needed to do was sneak a short distance to take cover in the foliage around the Elf Tree.

To prevent Flosa from having a change of heart, the floating spear constantly pressed against his back. If he dared to betray them, he would never see the sunrise.

Using the darkness and cover, the three hid by the Elf Tree foliage. There were hardly any sentries around them along the way.

But just as they prepared to enter the Elf Tree’s bushes, a group of armored soldiers suddenly emerged from behind the massive trees.

”!!!”

It was the enemy!
