Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

About Blood Slaves

The scene returned to the camp. The battle had already ended, and with the loss of 41 Skeleton Warriors, Serea had wiped out 127 enemies, converted 14 blood slaves, and captured 17 surrendered soldiers.

All in all, this could be considered a great victory, and the credit for this certainly belonged to Lola’s Bloodfiend Treant ”Senluoluo”.

After the battle was won, Lola canceled the summoning, causing Senluoluo to revert to the form of the Elf Tree, awaiting the next battle.

Summoning Senluoluo had consumed a great deal of Lola’s blood power, but that was still manageable, as there were plenty of corpses on the battlefield to replenish her blood power. However, one thing that was rather concerning was that this had been the first time Lola used a skill as taxing as ”Blood Frenzy”.

”Can you hold on?”

Serea asked with concern. At this moment, Lola was somewhat exhausted, but fortunately, she had activated Blood Frenzy for only a few minutes, and the side effects of first-tier ”Blood Frenzy” were not especially severe.

”No problem.”

Lola replied, while Vina stood by her side in case she suddenly collapsed.

”Good, just don’t use abilities like that freely in the future. It’s too dangerous.”

”Yes, queen.”

Lola replied in an obedient manner. Hearing this, Serea felt a bit more at ease, then turned her gaze back to the battlefield where the battle had ended.

At this time, the battlefield was littered with corpses. Under Serea’s command, the Skeleton Warriors were putting away the armor and weapons from the corpses and piling up the bodies.

Once everything had been dealt with, Serea used Blood Absorption and Soul Harvest on the corpse pile. The large number of corpses contributed a ”fortune” in materials to her.

After witnessing the corpses reduced to dried husks, the surrendered human soldiers were scared out of their wits. To them, even if the so-called ”evil Undead mage” had spared them for now, Death seemed inevitable in the end.

The captives had been stripped of their equipment and were forced to kneel together. After their initial frenzy, the converted blood slaves quieted down and fell into a deep sleep—those frenzied actions from before had been entirely unconscious.

But one thing made Serea wonder—since all the enemies had taken Blood Spring (Corruption), why was it that only some of them had turned into blood slaves?

On this question, the System’s answer was...

System: The Blood Spring (Corruption) had only a small amount of Blood Crystal added, so the likelihood of turning into a blood slave was lower.

”So, as expected, it’s because not enough Blood Crystal was used.”

As she spoke, Serea looked at the comatose blood slaves. Because these blood slaves had consumed blood, the amount of Blood Crystal that Serea could harvest had decreased significantly.

System: Please provide Blood Spring (Corruption) for the blood slaves. Otherwise, they may seek out blood to consume.

”So, in the end, I still have to feed them...”

Serea muttered in complaint.

Introduction: A low-tier blood slave infected by Blood Spring (Corruption), possessing extremely strong regenerative ability. Can convert their own and consumed blood into Blood Crystals.

”Hm! They can produce Blood Crystals!”

System: Yes.

”Damn, then wouldn’t raising a hundred and eighty blood slaves make me filthy rich?”

System: Note, blood slaves inherently have flaws. If they do not get enough Blood Spring (Corruption), they may fall into a berserk state. Then, they will not obey commands nor produce Blood Crystals. Also, the daily output of ”Blood Well”

Blood Spring has a maximum cap. Please keep the number of blood slaves and converted blood elves within the limit.

”Tsk tsk, capping my population again, huh? So, how many blood slaves can be raised with the current daily Blood Spring output from the ’Blood Well’?”

System: At the current Blood Well output, and after subtracting the Blood Spring (Purification) supplied daily to the Elves, the host can maintain 60 blood slaves. But to guarantee the daily supply of Blood Spring, it is recommended to keep it under 40.

”What if I build more Blood Wells?”

System: The ”Blood Well” is a unique building; it can only be upgraded, not built repeatedly. However, the host can build ”Blood Pools” to compensate for insufficient Blood Spring.

”I want to build Blood Pools.”

System: Please first unlock higher technology or obtain the blueprint for ’Blood Pool’.

”You could just say you want to limit my population, no need for so much nonsense.”

System: Everything is done for the benefit of the host.

”....”

Serea truly could not outargue the System. Once she figured things out, she did not bother to respond to it any further. For now, the population cap for blood slaves was sufficient, so Serea had little to worry about on this front.

Setting aside the blood slaves for now, Serea turned her gaze toward the handful of humans kneeling before her. She ought to consider how to deal with these prisoners.

”Queen Serea, the scattered 20-man human patrol force has been completely wiped out. Of course, there’s this guy too!”

Aruka returned with a group of werewolves. Following the sound, Serea saw Aruka carrying a middle-aged man tied up with ropes, and after approaching, he flung the man to the ground.

Bang!

Cliff was thrown down, and the pain from the impact snapped him awake. He looked around in bewilderment, and after seeing the pile of dried corpses, his eyes were filled with terror as he began to struggle violently.

”Mmm! Mmmph!”

With his mouth stuffed, all Cliff could do was utter muffled sounds.

”Looks like our human friend has something to say. Perfect, let’s hear him out.”

As Serea spoke, Little Black stepped forward.

Seeing the tall, cloaked creature approaching, cliff was terrified out of his wits by the monster known as ”Little Black”.

After tearing the rag from Cliff’s mouth, he immediately pleaded for mercy.

”I surrender! Please, don’t kill me, I surrender!”

Cliff begged pathetically. At this point, Little Black had returned to Serea’s side. Upon hearing the man’s plea, Dorulu poked his head out from behind Little Black and mocked him.

”Huh? Begging for your life now? That wasn’t what you said before. With Lord Little Black right here, do you need me to remind you exactly what it was you said earlier?”

Dorulu showed a sly smile. Hearing this, cliff felt a chill run up from his feet to the top of his head.

”No, that’s—not—”

Cliff looked at Little Black. In that moment, the soul fire in Little Black’s eyes was perfectly calm, but beneath that calm, there was a deep, murderous intent.

Meeting those eyes, cliff felt as if his heart was about to stop.

Why... why would such a monster exist in this world!

And that killing intent was not because Little Black cared about Cliff’s insults to him. As an ”assassin”, ”endurance” was an essential quality.

But this arrogant, ignorant fool had dared to insult their Queen!

If it weren’t for the Queen’s intervention, this person would have died ten thousand times over by now.

Similar thoughts burned in the soul fires of Little White, little Red, and Eighty.
