Berserk God of War

191: Chapter 191: The Sui Family as Hostage, Exchange 191: Chapter 191: The Sui Family as Hostage, Exchange At this moment, Yan Ruyu shouted toward Xia Country’s army, “Consider this carefully.

Sikong Jing is of lowly birth and his rebellious nature is plain to see.

If you fulfill his wishes, Xia Country will be doomed forever!”

“I have Xia Die Lian.” Sikong Jing, not waiting for Xia Country’s army to reply, emphasized again.

Yan Ruyu also clutched her chest tightly, an involuntary spurt of blood coughed up.

Despite saying so much, none of it compared to the weight of his five simple words, a feeling so intense it could drive a person to madness!

On top of the city wall, Xia Die Lian stared at Sikong Jing, her face so livid it seemed almost to drip with rage.

She deeply empathized with Yan Ruyu.

Sikong Jing’s words were infuriating, but she couldn’t help but admire his decision a few days prior to capture her, which had now positioned him in an unbeatable situation in this battle.

No matter how eloquently Yan Ruyu spoke, it was to no avail.

And from her father’s perspective, he would definitely not abandon her just for the small state of Yunzhou.

She was not merely a princess but also the future First Commander of the Daxia Dynasty, an incomparable presence.

Moreover, even if Sikong Jing didn’t side with Xia Country, his presence in Yunzhou meant future conflicts with Shang Country were no longer a concern.

During Shang Country’s suppression of the Seven Chaos, their ambition had been laid bare for all to see.

“Princess Die Lian, we can sign a cooperation contract.

After eliminating Shang Country’s army, you will be free to leave,” Sikong Jing said, his eyes returning to Xia Die Lian, his voice carrying a faint sound.

Xia Die Lian fell silent and then looked up, “I have two conditions, Yunzhou must become a vassal to Daxia, and Sui Yu’s life must be left for me to deal with.

Otherwise, there’s no deal.”

She couldn’t agree easily, with the vengeance for her Eldest Imperial Brother yet fulfilled.

The vassal state would ensure Sikong Jing’s lean toward Xia Country.

However, Sikong Jing refused without hesitation.

“I will agree to neither of your conditions,” he replied.

“I, Sikong Jing, am certainly capable of fighting to the bitter end.

I can lead a million-strong army through Yunzhou, I can even enter the Dark Dragon Mountain Range, and penetrate deep into Xia Country,” Sikong Jing said slowly, his gaze fixed on Xia Die Lian.

She immediately thought of the Beast Tide back in the Dark Dragon Mountain Range, her heart pounding incessantly.

If Sikong Jing truly entered the Dark Dragon Mountain, Xia Country would face endless crises.

His leadership capabilities were well known, and the Dark Dragon Mountain Range connected to many territories of Xia Country.

But for her, Xia Die Lian, to agree so easily was impossible.

Then suddenly, an intense sneering laugh came from Shang Country’s army in the distance, still in Yan Ruyu’s voice.

She burst into loud laughter, “Sikong Jing, do you know the good news I’ve just received?”

Sikong Jing’s gaze sharpened as he stared at Yan Ruyu.

“The fleeing Sui Family has been captured.

Very soon, the entire Sui Family will be brought here,” she announced.

At this, Sui Yu’s face drastically changed, turning deathly pale.

All these days, he had been awaiting news from the Sui Family.

Through secret channels, he knew that his father, Sui Wenzhan, had led the family in escaping Great Shang Imperial City, but they had not yet arrived in Yunzhou.

To think they were now captured by Yan Ruyu, what was to be done?

Soon after, a troop of flying cavalry descended amongst Shang Country’s army, and indeed, they had bound figures with them—it was the Sui Family, one of the Great Shang Dynasty’s Five Great Families.

At a glance, there were an overwhelming number, easily tens of thousands, with the Family Master of the Sui Family, Sui Wenzhan, being dragged to the forefront.

The next instant, all the Sui Family members landed on the ground.

And then Yan Ruyu forced them all to kneel at the very front of Shang Country’s army.

Following that, the sound of blades echoed as large cleavers were placed over the necks of tens of thousands from the Sui Family, with executioners standing behind them.

At the mere command of Yan Ruyu, tens of thousands of heads would fall to the ground, blood flowing into a river.

“Father, mother…” Unable to hold back, Sui Yu screamed out, his eyes bloodshot.

He saw, in that one glance, all of his family members.

“Yu’er…” His mother’s call sent shivers through Sui Yu’s spirit.

Sui Wenzhan could only force a series of bitter smiles, never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that his most unreliable son would stir up such a heaven-shaking, earth-shattering incident.

When he saw the note left by Sui Yu, he thought it must be some kind of cruel joke.

But as soon as the news from Yunzhou arrived, he made a split-second decision to flee with his family.

Yet in the end, they failed to escape the Great Shang Dynasty, as they were cornered and captured by several other families working together and brought here.

Now, Sui Wenzhan found himself on the edge of the blade, uncertain of what to do next.

“Hahaha…”

Yan Ruyu burst into another round of wild laughter, “Sikong Jing, aren’t you the one who values emotions most?”

“Sui Yu concealed his personality, waiting on you hand and foot, helping you to stand on this city wall and converse with me.

Do you really want to watch his family die before his eyes?”

The voice rolled thunderously, casting a heavy shadow over the entirety of Yunzhou City.

“Yan Ruyu, do not bring disaster upon an innocent family.” Luu Ji couldn’t help but roar in anger.

But it was useless, Yan Ruyu chuckled dismissively, shrugging his shoulders indifferently and continued to stare menacingly at Sikong Jing.

“Big brother, what should I do?”

In a spur of the moment, he had stabbed Yuwen Guan twice, but now, faced with the reality of his family’s imminent death, Sui Yu trembled.

Panic-stricken, Sui Yu was utterly confused.

“Don’t worry, I’m here,” Sikong Jing spoke calmly, patting his shoulder, then stared at Yan Ruyu, “Yan Ruyu, I’ll trade my life for the lives of the entire Sui family.

I will come down from the city and surrender myself to you right now.”

No sooner had he spoken these words than everyone both inside and outside the city was stunned.

Even Xia Die Lian couldn’t help but widen her eyes.

Sui Yu could not help but cry out, “Big brother, you can’t do this!”

However, Sikong Jing shook his head coldly, “Yan Ruyu is right.

If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to stand on this city wall right now.

Once, you risked your life without a second thought for my family, now it’s my turn.”

As he said this, Sikong Jing couldn’t help but smile gently at Sui Yu.

When Su Yuexi was captured by Prince Zhenyun, it was Sui Yu who first defied orders and attacked Yuwen Guan, so how could Sikong Jing be indifferent to Sui Yu’s heart, and how could he allow the Sui family to die because of himself?

Yan Ruyu hadn’t expected Sikong Jing would be so unafraid of death, but quickly retorted coldly, “One person is not enough.”

The next moment, a figure in white stepped forward; Su Yuexi slowly spoke, “What if it includes me, would that suffice?”

“Sister-in-law…” Sui Yu trembled violently all over.

Hearing this, Yan Ruyu’s eyes squinted, and she chuckled maliciously.

“Very well, very well, that’s enough indeed.

Such a touching act of husband and wife following each other to death.

Now, throw away all your weapons and come over here.”

Sikong Jing gave Su Yuexi a deep look, then their hands clasped tightly together, and they floated down from the city.

All the people on the city walls trembled, unsure of what to do.

The Xia Country’s army below the wall was shaken, unable to believe that a Marshal Commander could do such a thing.

Xia Die Lian’s pupils contracted sharply, looking at the backs of Sikong Jing and his wife, feeling utterly astounded.

She thought she was going to suffocate.

Why could Sikong Jing be so calm, and why did his wife follow without hesitation?

The tens of thousands from the Sui family could not believe what they were seeing.

This was the Sikong God General who had been driven to despair by the Emperor of Great Shang, the Invincible God General who had brought out the spirit of manhood in their prodigal son, Sui Yu.

And at that moment, Sikong Jing’s voice drifted back from below the wall, “Remember, without my command, nobody is allowed to come down from the city!”
