Berserk God of War

165: Chapter 165: A Divine Person Descends from the Heavens, Bestowing a Divine Object 165: Chapter 165: A Divine Person Descends from the Heavens, Bestowing a Divine Object Just like that, hand in hand, Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi headed to the grand contest venue, accompanied by the Su Zhenglong couple and Su Yue Immortal.

Now, Su Yuexi had become the sole representative fighter for Yunye City.

As for Duan Chengshan’s son, Duan Chun, this unstable element obviously would not be making an appearance.

The contest venue was the very same Martial Arts Arena Sikong Jing had previously visited, and by now, it was surrounded not only by the citizens of Yunzhou City who had heard the news, but also by so-called battle-scarred criminals of a million-strong battlefield.

One by one, they encircled the Martial Arts Arena, their eyes hollow, like the silence of Hell itself.

It was only when they saw Sikong Jing arrive that a glimmer of life returned to their eyes.

Upon entering the venue, Sikong Jing then saw that around the arena’s platform, a pit ten meters deep had been dug, or rather, a large circular trench had been carved out, encircling the entire Martial Arts Arena.

And within it lay ferocious demon beasts; to step onto the platform one would have to cross over the bridges built atop the beasts’ heads.

Such a sight was enough to chill the bones of the competitors in the grand contest.

Just as the Martial Arts Arena was filled to bursting, a piercing voice rang out, “Her Highness, the Ninth Princess, has arrived!”

As soon as these words fell, the entire Martial Arts Arena instantly quieted down.

After a few moments, a wave of astounded murmurs rose up as everyone began to exclaim in disbelief.

“The Ninth Princess?

Which Ninth Princess?”

“Who else could it be but our Great Shang Dynasty’s Ninth Princess, Yan Ruyu, the most beautiful woman in the Great Shang?”

“Wow…”

The venue buzzed, and then the crowd saw Yan Ruyu, escorted by Leng Huo, the Old Eunuch, and a hundred palace maids, gracefully crossing the bridge and ascending to the contest platform.

All eyes gleamed with admiration; Her Highness, the Ninth Princess, was truly too beautiful!

Next to Sikong Jing, Su Yuexi was also astonished, “Even Her Highness, the Ninth Princess, has come to this contest, she’s so beautiful.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing gently squeezed Su Yuexi’s hand and said in a lowered voice, “Her beauty does not compare to even one ten-thousandth of yours, Yuexi, not even to one ten-thousandth of your appearance before you regained your beauty.”

Feeling incredibly sweet inside, Su Yuexi shyly replied, “Brother Jing, don’t talk nonsense or someone will overhear us.”

With a slight smile, Sikong Jing offered no further explanation.

At that moment, Yan Ruyu gently pressed her hand downwards, and the entire venue fell silent once more.

Everyone paid solemn attention to Yan Ruyu.

Then, Yan Ruyu softly began to speak, “Yunzhou is in turmoil, and Xia Country harbors wild ambitions, causing our people of Yunzhou to be displaced and suffer.

As a Princess of Great Shang, I feel deeply troubled.”

“His Majesty, having heard of these troubles, is even more heartbroken, and thus dispatched me to Yunzhou to guard its people and to resist Xia Country!”

Her voice carried sorrow, touching the heart of everyone at the Martial Arts Arena, taking their breath away, and making them all look up to her in reverence.

Only Sikong Jing remained dispassionately silent; this was merely a minor trick by Yan Ruyu to win over the hearts of the people.

All of a sudden, Yan Ruyu raised her voice and emphatically proclaimed, “Now, His Majesty has also sent the Invincible Divine General Yuwen Guan to the borders of Yunzhou to suppress the Xia Country’s forces, and soon we will receive good news.”

Upon this declaration, the crowd erupted with excitement and buzzed once more.

The Invincible Divine General Yuwen Guan had already reached Yunzhou’s border with Xia Country.

There was no longer a need to worry about further unrest in Yunzhou, for he was the military god of the Great Shang Dynasty!

Yan Ruyu, seeing the admiring look in everyone’s eyes, paused for a moment.

Her gaze then accurately found the spot where Yunye City’s representative fighter was, finding Sikong Jing.

The corners of her mouth curled into a smile that only Sikong Jing could see.

Her eyes conveyed a layer of meaning: How does it feel to hear the adoration of the masses for “Invincible Divine General Yuwen Guan”?

In response, Sikong Jing returned a cold smile, unmoved by her gesture.

Once the venue had quieted down again, Yan Ruyu took a deep breath and announced, “There is one more thing to tell everyone, that is, seven days ago in Yunzhou City…

a Divine Object descended from the heavens!”

Everyone in the audience looked at each other in confusion.

What thing?

“Now, please welcome Miss Luo Ning from the Luoshui Jade Line to step onto the stage,” Yan Ruyu suddenly called out.

In an instant, Sikong Jing was stunned.

How had Luo Ning caught the attention of Yan Ruyu?

Could it be that his matter had been exposed and she had secretly reported to Yan Ruyu and the Lord of Yunzhou, thereby receiving some reward?

With his pupils constricting sharply, Sikong Jing clenched his fists slightly.

At that moment, Luo Ning, dressed in gorgeous clothes, stepped onto the stage, her face somewhat tense and anxious.

Behind her, two people were pushing a cart with a sealed box on it, and it was unknown what was inside.

“Luo Ning pays her respects to Ninth Princess,” Luo Ning said with a deep bow as she arrived on the stage.

Yan Ruyu nodded with a smile and gently said, “Rise.

It will be your task to introduce the divine object of Yunzhou City next.”

“This humble one obeys!” Luo Ning responded emphatically.

Then she turned around and forcefully opened the completely sealed box, then took out a piece of Green Jade Stone Plate and began, “This is the Earth Grade Green Jade Stone Plate that our Luoshui Jade Line obtained seven days ago.”

As these words fell, Sikong Jing’s gaze grew even more solemn.

Had he really been sold out by Luo Ning?

“Seven days ago, a Divine Person descended from the sky in Yunzhou City and with a casual wave of his hand inside the warehouse of our Luoshui Jade Line, the most inferior Green Jade Stone Plates were engraved.”

“Suddenly, there were 107 pieces of Green Jade Stone Plates bearing Earth Grade Martial Skills.”

As soon as these words were said, the entire venue was again stunned.

A casual wave of the hand using the most inferior Green Jade Stone Plates, engrave terrifying Earth Grade Martial Skills?

A divine object, an absolute divine object indeed!

“The Divine Person left after inscribing them, also instructing me to say that these were gifts to the people of Yunzhou.”

“Ninth Princess was delighted when she heard of this.”

“She decided to keep these 107 pieces of Green Jade Stone Plates within Yunzhou City, planning to establish a Green Jade Combat Skills Pavilion to display them, and the first-place winner of this Yunzhou martial competition will have unlimited opportunities to study these Green Jade Stone Plates as a reward.”

With Luo Ning’s words, the geniuses from various cities were immensely excited, nearly leaping with joy.

Earth Grade Martial Skills, that which they all dreamt of obtaining.

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing was dumbfounded.

What was all this?

The 107 Green Jade Stone Plates were engraved by him, weren’t they?

What Divine Person?

What divine object?

What casual wave of the hand?

“Ahem…”

At that moment, a fit of coughing sounded, and Luo Shuizhe suddenly leaned in close.

“Young Master Sikong, it’s not that I didn’t want to report your name to Ninth Princess, but I had already declared publically that the Earth Grade Green Jade Stone Plates were engraved by a Divine Person who descended from the sky,” he said.

In Luo Shuizhe’s view, Sikong Jing must certainly be quite angry now.

It was he who engraved the Green Jade Stone Plates, but they were being credited to a Divine Person, wasn’t this depriving Sikong Jing of the opportunity to win favor from Ninth Princess?

Therefore, Luo Shuizhe found an opportunity to come over and explain.

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing was stunned for a moment and retorted, “So, Ninth Princess does not know that it was me who engraved them?”

“Young Master Sikong, I am truly sorry.”

“I didn’t expect that just after bringing out a few Green Jade Stone Plates for promotion and to garner attention for an auction, they would be noticed by Ninth Princess, and she took it so seriously.”

“And at that time, I even boasted that a Divine Person had descended from the sky.

I…

I simply didn’t dare to deceive the monarch.”

Although Ninth Princess was not the monarch, for Luo Shuizhe, it was almost the same.

“If she finds out that I lied to her, if she learns there was no Divine Person descending, she will certainly have my head,” Luo Shuizhe said with a bitter face, seeking forgiveness from Sikong Jing.
