Berserk God of War

167: Chapter 167: Outbreak, Cutting Off the Shackles 167: Chapter 167: Outbreak, Cutting Off the Shackles “I, Yan Ruyu, will use their fresh blood to bolster the might of the Great Shang Invincible God General,” she declared.

Her voice resounded fiercely and, having spoken, Yan Ruyu turned her gaze to Sikong Jing, her lips curling into a sinister and malicious smile.

You dare to mock this princess, you insignificant trash?

Then I shall drive you into frenzy first.

Sikong Jing’s complexion also progressively turned ashen, his fists clenching tightly.

He certainly knew the news of defeat had to be true, but why would Yuwen Guan rage back to Yunzhou City?

There was only one possibility: he knew that Sikong Jing hadn’t been thoroughly defeated and was aware that Sikong Jing had started retraining in Martial Arts.

It must have been Xia Dalian who reported Sikong Jing’s name to Yuwen Guan.

Why does this princess like to report his name so much?

Only half a day left, only half a day!

Watching Sikong Jing’s ever-changing expressions, Yan Ruyu grew more delighted and commanded loudly, “Bring forth ten thousand war prisoners.”

In an instant, Leng Huo turned to issue an order to Fan Zhong in the arena: “Commander Fan, make haste.”

“I obey.”

Fan Zhong gave a deep salute and then dashed out of the Martial Arts Arena, ordering the War Mansion Soldiers to pull in ten thousand war prisoners.

However, the moment Fan Zhong had just left the Martial Arts Arena, Ah Hu suddenly appeared by his side and said in a low voice, “Lord Fan, the ten thousand executioners slated for later, replace them with ten thousand troops that Brother Sikong has planted within Yunzhou City.”

As soon as these words fell, Fan Zhong’s body trembled slightly, and his pupils constricted sharply: “Brother Sikong, what…

what are you planning to do?”

Fan Zhong had already panicked when Yan Ruyu appeared.

Sikong Jing mentioned that the Sui Family Heir intended to engage in a struggle with the person behind the Lord of Yunzhou, right within Yunzhou City.

Could it be that the Ninth Princess was that person?

Has he gone mad?

Who doesn’t know of the Ninth Princess’s favor with His Majesty?

Not even the princes of the Great Shang can be sure to outmatch her, let alone the Sui Family Heir.

Ah Hu spoke coldly, “Quit the nonsense, just do as told.”

As he spoke, Ah Hu added, “Don’t worry…

if you don’t comply, the concealed Jin Sect masters around will ensure you die without a sound.”

Such a terrifying threat caused Fan Zhong to break out in a cold sweat, leaving him with no other choice but to comply.

In fact, he was already thinking about reporting back to the Ninth Princess.

But Fan Zhong knew if he didn’t comply and attempted to return, he would assuredly not make it back; he would certainly die on the way.

If he died, there were still Mo Yang and three other Commanders who could serve Sikong Jing.

Elsewhere, Yan Ruyu had returned to the opulent resting area of the Martial Arts Arena, her gaze icy to the extreme.

“Manager Nian, leave the city immediately and find Yuwen Guan,” she instructed.

“I want to know the real state of his battle, and I want to know why he suddenly returned to Yunzhou City,” she demanded.

Yan Ruyu believed the reporter as well, but for the sake of public sentiment and her own face, she could only execute him and later find an excuse.

As soon as she finished speaking, the Old Eunuch Manager Nian disappeared within the Martial Arts Arena.

On the stage of the Martial Arts Arena, the drawing of lots was underway.

Whether by coincidence or not, Su Yuexi quite unexpectedly drew number one again.

She was to be the first one to enter the martial contest.

All of a sudden, Yan Ruyu pointed at Su Yuexi and said to Leng Huo, “Once the first round of combat is over, I want her to kneel before me.”

“Yes, Ninth Princess,” Leng Huo nodded solemnly.

After speaking, Leng Huo returned to the stage.

He announced that Su Yuexi and the number two talent were to remain on the stage, while others should rest.

However, the contest could not commence immediately; it had to wait until the ten thousand war prisoners were brought forth and beheaded.

The blood of the prisoners would herald the prelude to the grand contest…

Soon, the heavy footsteps and clanking of chains echoed, as a hundred thousand battlefield criminals appeared around the vast Martial Arts Arena.

They were brought to the outside of the long, circular trench.

“Kneel down…”

Following Leng Huo’s command, a hundred thousand battlefield criminals were forced to kneel beside the trench, from below which came the roars of demon beasts.

After the execution, their bodies would be thrown into the trench to be torn apart and devoured by the thousands of demon beasts.

“Prepare…”

Leng Huo again addressed the hundred thousand executioners sternly, each of whom raised a large knife, one for each battlefield criminal.

The entire Martial Arts Arena was silent to the extreme; everyone held their breath.

The sight of a hundred thousand people being beheaded simultaneously would drive the faint-hearted mad, and many had already closed their eyes, unable to watch.

Even Su Yuexi on the platform couldn’t help but tremble, the scene being too horrific.

She couldn’t help but look in the direction of Sikong Jing.

At that moment, Sikong Jing returned her glance with a reassuring look, and then turned to Su Zhenglong and Mei Xiaofang beside him, “Father-in-law, no matter what happens later, don’t act rashly, you must listen to me…”

Both of them trembled at heart, brewing a horrific thought within.

They also knew about the struggle between Sikong Jing and the power behind the Lord of Yunzhou, even a more terrifying presence than Prince Zhenyun.

At this moment, their hearts were pounding furiously…

Just like Commander Fan, could it be the Ninth Princess?

Just then, Yan Ruyu’s gaze drifted over, locking eyes squarely with Sikong Jing.

Then, using her lips, she said, “You, not collapsing yet?”

Sikong Jing calmly met her gaze, mouthing back in return, “This is enough to make me collapse?”

In an instant, Yan Ruyu’s eyes turned cold as she stood up herself and commanded, “Execute the criminals!”

These three words echoed through the Martial Arts Arena, resonating in the ears of everyone present.

The hundred thousand executioners swung their large knives down ferociously.

Some people’s eyes were wide open, some closed their eyes, not daring to watch, and some licked their lips in anticipation of the bloodbath to unfold…

Thud, thud, thud, thud…

However, just as the knives were about to fall, there were no screams of horror or anticipation from the crowd, only the incredibly loud sound of chains.

The hundred thousand large executioner’s knives did not take the lives of a hundred thousand criminals.

Instead…

they landed fiercely on their shackles.

In an instant, Yan Ruyu’s eyes, both frenzied and excited, froze.

Leng Huo was stunned, and Fan Zhong stood up abruptly.

The expressions of everyone present were ones of astonishment.

What was going on?

At the same time, the so-called hundred thousand battlefield criminals widened their eyes, flashing with disbelief.

They thought they were surely going to die, but they didn’t, they were saved by the executioners behind them.

With their spirits greatly shaken and the fires of battle burning in their hearts, a hundred thousand pairs of eyes turned towards Sikong Jing.

It must be Sikong God General, definitely him!

At that moment, Sikong Jing gradually stood up, and a deep voice thundered out, “To all soldiers, listen to my command.

The hundred thousand troops of Yunye Qingyun shall break out of the Martial Arts Arena, and unchain the ninety thousand brothers outside!”

His voice reverberated throughout the arena, and the hundred thousand executioners responded loudly, “Yes, Commander Sikong!”

At these words, a hundred thousand soldiers turned around in unison, wielding their large knives, and broke out of the Martial Arts Arena…

The citizens of the city screamed in terror.

Yan Ruyu suddenly stood up, staring dead at Sikong Jing, “You…

you…”

Sikong Jing paid her no heed, instead calling out once again, “To all brothers and soldiers, rally to the front of me.”

Instantly, the so-called hundred thousand criminals moved as one body, rushing towards Sikong Jing with a swishing sound.

They had no words, only eyes red with emotion and tear-filled.

They always knew Sikong God General would not fall easily, nor would he simply watch them die…
