Berserk God of War

Chapter 697: Chapter 697: Ninety Percent Similarity, Ten Percent Affection

”Ah?”

In her own flurry of emotions, Sikong Ling let out a soft exclamation and then hurriedly said, ”Ling’er will go fetch some water for brother right away.”

Watching his sister scurry away, Sikong Jing’s eyes flickered with a hint of confusion and distress as he thought of the dream he had just had.

He had indeed lied to his sister.

In the dream, he had brought his sister and Su Yuexi back home, only to find the corpses of their parents, their hearts pierced, lying in the room with their blood-written letters on the floor.

It read: take good care of your sister, you must take good care of her.

Although he knew the dream was false, Sikong Jing’s heart was in disarray.

He missed his parents too, having been eight years old at the time, with many memories of them, unlike his four-year-old sister, who might only retain faint fragments.

At this moment, Sikong Ling ran back, handing him a stone cup and said, ”Brother, your water.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing cast aside the memories of his dream and after taking the cup, asked, ”Ling’er, where is my Beast Arm?”

At his question, Sikong Ling quickly responded, ”It’s in its original place. I was thinking of whether I could reattach it for big brother, but Ling’er is still so useless, completely unable to approach the Beast Arm.”

Hearing this, Sikong Jing nodded, stood up, and said, ”Let’s go, I’ll retrieve the Beast Arm. It should be possible to reattach it.”

At this, Sikong Ling couldn’t help but freeze. Could it still be reattached after the application of medicine and half a day’s time?

But Sikong Jing offered no explanation. He had just received a notification from the beasts, saying that the Beast Arm could be reattached, using the meridian of the tailless dragon lizard, but he needed to be quick, or else the Beast Arm might completely turn into a dead object.

Of course, even if it couldn’t be reattached, it wouldn’t matter. As long as the meridian connecting the tail of the tailless dragon lizard was reconstructed, the arm would still be able to grow back, but it would take a much longer time.

More importantly, regrowing an arm would be too strange, and he might be mistaken for someone of the Demon Path.

Thus, Sikong Ling led Sikong Jing back to the Beast Arm.

Around the Beast Arm, a terrifying and evil aura spread, causing the surrounding flowers, grass, and trees to wither, and some fearless small wild animals turned into skeletal remains around the Beast Arm.

Besides containing the demonic power that Sikong Jing had absorbed, the Beast Arm also held a terrifying demonic nature, impossible to approach.

Even Fierce Beasts would avoid it from afar.

In the Northern Mountain, at least, no beast was yet worthy enough to consume the Beast Arm.

”Brother...” Sikong Ling, feeling the terrifying aura around the Beast Arm, grew fearful.

Sikong Jing returned her fear with a smile, having Sikong Ling wait where she was while he strode forward. The aura of the Beast Arm, of course, did not affect him, even though his current Martial Arts Realm was not as advanced as his sister’s.

Additionally, after half a day, much of the strength from the Beast Arm had dissipated.

Sikong Jing lifted the scale-covered Beast Arm with his right hand that emitted a chilling, ”Absolute Night, Ice Dance!”

Crack...

The pitch-black Beast Arm was instantly frozen by him.

The surrounding terrifying aura vanished in an instant, and when he returned with the Beast Arm, Sikong Ling was incredibly surprised, ”Brother, that move just now seemed like the power of ’Supreme Forget Love Technique’.”

He nodded and replied with a smile, ”Do you still remember when I asked you for the ’Supreme Forget Love Technique’?”

Of course, Sikong Ling remembered. She had thought at the time that the human-shaped monster had saved her only for the ’Supreme Forget Love Technique’, but with a slight fright, she asked, ”Brother, have you also cultivated it?”

With a reassuring look, Sikong Jing said, ”Let’s go back to where we were, and your brother will explain everything clearly to you.”

So, Sikong Jing returned to the large rock he had been sitting at before.

He then explained to his sister about modifying the ”Supreme Forget Love Technique” and why he had killed Mo Ci, and of course, the demon snake Mo Ci had left to ambush him in their hometown, Xiaosang Town.

Upon hearing all this, Sikong Ling was so shocked that she was speechless and trembling with fright.

”Indeed, my master never intended to let me go back to my brother.”

”Nine years ago, she even left behind a demon snake. If my brother hadn’t happened to encounter the Long Night Black Burning Army recruiting that day, or if my brother had been only slightly weaker, he would have surely been dead.”

She muttered to herself, tears streaming down her face and teeth clenched in anger.

Sikong Ling had been resurrected because of Mo Ci.

But the master wanted to kill her brother, not just once, but twice, thrice... starting with Wang Xiang and Wang Wei, then leading people to the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace, and finally to the War Soul Dynasty Imperial Advisor Mansion...

If it were not for her brother’s good luck, or if he weren’t so powerful, just one misstep would mean they could have missed the chance to see each other again, and she would continue to feel indebted to her all her life.

Thinking of this, Sikong Ling felt an extreme hatred...

Then Sikong Jing explained about the Supreme Forget Love Technique, pulling Sikong Ling out of her entangled hatred and into complete astonishment.

Her brother could actually modify the Supreme Forget Love Technique.

”I almost failed. I acted against Mo Ci too soon; I should have modified it before taking action,” Sikong Jing suddenly lamented, still being shaken by the thought that his sister had nearly been beyond saving.

Of course, without Mo Ci’s corpse, he wouldn’t have been able to complete it so soon; some risks had to be taken.

”In that case, brother might have been killed by Mo Ci first.”

Now, Sikong Ling no longer referred to her teacher as master; whether she had saved her or not, anyone who wanted her brother’s life was an enemy.

With a smile, Sikong Jing decided not to mention Mo Ci anymore, the mere thought of whom was distressing, and said with a serious face, ”Sister, I will now inscribe the new Supreme Forget Love Technique for you to practice.”

Having said that, he took out a Green Jade Tube and began to inscribe the new Cultivation Technique.

As for reattaching the Beast Arm, he would need to understand the meridian of the tailless dragon lizard first, and this was not urgent.

In this way, a few two hours later, when the night fell, Sikong Jing finally inscribed the new Supreme Forget Love Technique and handed it to his sister, saying, ”Ling’er, try practicing it quickly.”

”By the time you finish practicing, brother’s arm should also have been reattached.”

At his words, Sikong Ling nodded vehemently and then her consciousness entered the Green Jade Tube.

After a moment, her body gave a slight shake.

She opened her eyes in shock and looked at her brother because this new technique was so powerful and miraculous. It was ninety percent similar to the Supreme Forget Love Technique, but the one percent difference was precisely... affection and loyalty.

The former required one to be heartless, while the latter couldn’t forget love and duty, and should enter the path with affection and loyalty.

And this, this was the technique her brother had personally modified and passed down to her.

Her brother had long stopped being an ordinary man; he was much more powerful than she was, Sikong Ling felt extremely happy in her heart.

Without hesitation, Sikong Ling immediately entered into a state of Cultivation, circulating her True Qi according to the instructions of the new technique, gradually immersing herself in it, as her True Qi flickered in and out of visibility.

Sikong Jing watched her for a while, and after confirming there was no issue with his sister, he breathed a long sigh of relief.

His consciousness also entered the Ten Thousand Beasts Sky Prison at this moment, beginning to observe the meridians at the joint where the tail of the Fierce Beast, the tailless dragon lizard, was attached.
