Berserk God of War

Chapter 670: Chapter 670: Ji Tan, Great Achievement is Imminent

All deputy generals wore severe expressions, yet still proclaimed, ”We must fight, we absolutely cannot disgrace Commander Sikong, we must return alive.”

Taking a deep breath, Ning Jingjing spoke again, ”The troops of the War Soul Dynasty from the Youyuan Twelve States are about to strike; we cannot wait a moment longer, notify all the mountain bandits, if they can’t keep up, they will die... March!”

Following Ning Jingjing’s command, two hundred thousand from the 66th Army, along with a million mountain bandits, surged forth like a rushing stream, breaking out from the Soul Penetration Mountain.

They would commence a grand escape within the War Soul Dynasty, aiming for the Northern Mountain.

Just like on Sikong Jing’s side, their goal was not only to break out but also to continually use various stratagems to hide their route, otherwise, if anything went wrong, they would be completely surrounded by Lu Lungan’s army.

In the blink of an eye, several days passed, and the entire War Soul Dynasty was already in turmoil.

Everywhere there was news of the pursuit of Sikong Jing and the Soul Stealers, but the matter of Sikong Jing being associated with the Dark Wings had not been leaked.

For a commander of the Long Night Empire to infiltrate the War Soul Dynasty, even the Imperial Capital, was utterly humiliating.

Even if this commander was only temporary.

Regardless if it was Lu Lungan, Gongyang Ren, or the War Soul Emperor, none could afford to lose face if the news about the Dark Wings leaked, as it would deal a massive blow to the War Soul Dynasty’s forces.

About this matter, all who knew must keep it tightly under wraps.

The mandate to kill was simply because he was Sikong Jing, a member of the Long Night Empire, who had committed heinous crimes in the War Soul Dynasty.

A few more days passed,

The pursuit by the War Soul Dynasty continued, with Sikong Jing and the seven hundred Absolute Night Wolf Guards proving hard to track, while on Ning Jingjing’s side, the Soul Stealers and others were already reduced to less than eight hundred thousand.

Those dead were dead, and those captured were captured...

Perhaps some were deliberately sacrificed by Ning Jingjing; regardless, their main force was still in the midst of escaping and moving.

Every moment was fraught with danger, every moment could lead to complete annihilation.

...

In Youye State City among the Twelve States of Youyuan,

Commander Cheng Yusu sat in the topmost position on the city tower. Looking down at his deputies and Cao Yi among others, he asked, ”What trick is Lu Lungan playing? An empty fortress strategy, luring us in deep, then annihilating us in one fell swoop?”

Eight days ago, Lu Lungan suddenly withdrew his troops, then vanished without a trace, leaving the opposing Youyuan State City significantly undefended.

It was only today that Cheng Yusu finally confirmed that Lu Lungan had indeed moved twenty million troops away.

But why?

Cheng Yusu was baffled by the ultimate reason.

He always felt that there was a giant mouth waiting to devour him on the other side, always sensing that it was a massive trap, one of Lu Lungan’s schemes.

Following this, everyone began discussing whether to launch a full-scale attack on Netherworld State City, but they could not come to a conclusion.

Right at that moment, a loud voice reached them, ”Commander Cheng, an urgent decree from His Majesty.”

Hearing this, Cheng Yusu quickly took it over to look at it.

Then his eyes bulged out, and under the watchful eyes of Cao Yi and the other deputy generals, he suddenly stood up laughing loudly, ”Heaven aids me... no, no, no, Sikong Jing aids me.”

In an instant, Cao Yi trembled all over. What had happened with Sikong Jing?

Cao Yi and the other deputies of the Black Burning Army knew that Sikong Jing and the 66th Army had infiltrated the War Soul Dynasty, but there had been no news until now. Could it be that the news was about a terrifying incident?

On the Youyuan battlefield, they were almost cut off from the outside world, completely unaware of the shocking news that had recently swept across the North of the East Plain.

After a while, Cheng Yusu finally finished laughing and said, ”Sikong Jing transformed into a mountain bandit and infiltrated the Imperial Advisor Mansion of Gongyang Ren, ruler of War Soul Imperial City, then with a terrifying demon beast at the Reverse Soul Realm, he brutally murdered the Wangyou Sect Master Mo Ci.”

Upon hearing this, Cao Yi and Wen Jun among others, Vice Commanders of the Long Night Black Burning Army, widened their eyes in disbelief.

Sikong Jing, he had actually succeeded in killing Mo Ci.

”Not just because of Mo Ci’s death, but also because of Sikong Jing’s audacity to assume the guise of a mountain bandit and almost kill the Moon Soul Fairy, Gongyang Ying; hence causing uproar and intense fury from top to bottom of the War Soul Dynasty.”

”The War Soul Dynasty, dispatching Lu Lungan’s massive army to pursue and kill Sikong Jing and his millions of mountain bandits and rebels.”

”At this moment, the whole War Soul Dynasty has already descended into chaos.”

The bandits initially numbered only a million, but by the time the news reached the Long Night Empire, it had escalated to tens of millions.

In fact, this was also an exaggeration by the War Soul Dynasty to save face and appease civilian outrage. However, under the influence of Sikong Jing and the Soul Stealers, indeed, many mountain bandits and true rebels took this chance to revolt.

In short, the Long Night Empire believed it to be tens of millions, otherwise, Lu Lungan would not have been able to dispatch those troops.

Cheng Yusu continued, ”Now is the perfect opportunity for us to take over the Twelve States of Youyuan. Deploy troops to Netherworld State City and the other six states of Youyuan immediately. I want you to conquer them within ten days, or bring me your heads.”

Upon this command, the Long Night Army began to mobilize.

Even though they were reluctant to follow Cheng Yusu’s orders, they had no choice but to deploy, they had to fight.

After all, the Long Night Army had to listen to Cao Yi and others.

And just as they had begun to mobilize, Cheng Yusu received a secret letter from Eldest Prince Ji Tan, stating, ”Conquer the Twelve States of Youyuan as soon as possible, then have the Long Night Black Burning Army and the Long Night White Flame Army reach Long Night Imperial City. This Prince is about to act!”

Staring intently at the content of the letter, Cheng Yusu’s eyes sparked intensely, his excitement reaching its peak.

As long as Youyuan Twelve States were conquered, he would fully command the Long Night Black Burning Army and gain the support of the people of the Long Night Empire; his achievements would be unrivaled. The Great Marshal of the Long Night Army would be none other than him.

...

In the mansion of the Eldest Prince in Long Night Imperial City.

Ji Tan, looking at the two middle-aged women with frosty faces before him, promised solemnly, ”The Sect Master’s death grieved me deeply. Once I have taken the Twelve States of Youyuan, I shall definitely ascend to the throne and flatten the Holy Dragon Palace of Long Night for the Wangyou Sect, leaving none behind.”

The two middle-aged women with frosty expressions were elders of the Wangyou Sect.

They were originally sent by Mo Ci to support Ji Tan’s ascent to the throne. After Mo Ci was ambushed and injured by Shen Qingye and others from the Beigong Family, she had made promises to Ji Tan and sent people to support him.

But when they received the news of Mo Ci’s death, the fury of the Wangyou Sect knew no bounds; they wanted nothing more than to completely annihilate the Holy Dragon Palace of Long Night.

They fundamentally did not believe that Sikong Jing had severed all ties with the Holy Dragon Palace of Long Night.

But now was not the time, the Sect Master was already dead, the Wangyou Sect had to rely more on Ji Tan now.

After the two elders of the Wangyou Sect had received his promises and left...

Yan Ruyu then gracefully walked out from the inner room, looped her arms around Ji Tan’s neck and said, ”My prince, I have analyzed a few more individuals who can be manipulated for you, take a look.”

Saying so, she breathed into Ji Tan’s ear and mentioned several names of ministers.

These days, she had been wholeheartedly assisting Ji Tan, helping him analyze the situations of ministers and princes in the Imperial Capital, and each of her suggestions had proven extremely useful, allowing Ji Tan’s power to surge in just over two months, almost doubling...
