Chapter 690: Chapter 690: Blood Devouring Demon Beast, Tearing Reverse Soul

Suddenly, a horrific scene unfolded before Lian Kegu and Mo Sang’s eyes.

It seemed as if the lingering demonic power in the air was viciously swept towards Sikong Jing’s direction.

The demon beasts that were fleeing stopped in their tracks, then let out a wretched howl.

The rolling demonic power on their bodies reversed its flow towards Sikong Jing, getting swept up towards him.

It was as though threads made of demonic power were tugging at them fiercely.

Fearful screeches became more numerous. Mo Sang and Lian Kegu were scared stiff, as nearly all of the thousands of demon beasts were immobilized and pulled back.

The next instant, they saw countless streams of demonic power converging and ferociously burrowing into Sikong Jing’s mouth.

From his Spirit Platform Sea of Consciousness came the voices of the beasts: ”Master of Ten Thousand Beasts, you promised the mistress, you can’t absorb it!”

During the last time he became demonized, the Feiyun Butterfly had told Su Yuexi to inform Sikong Jing not to devour any power.

Even being demonized back then, Sikong Jing managed to do so.

But now he was about to absorb power again, and he would not recover from this. It would lead him completely into the realm of demons.

”My sister can’t wait, I don’t know how much longer she can live, so I must kill Lian Kegu and the Wangyou Sect’s Great Elder. I need power now,” Sikong Jing’s hoarse voice echoed throughout the Ten Thousand Beasts Sky Prison, decisively.

His body’s strength soared as he devoured power from all directions.

He instantly entered the Reverse Soul Realm, then the First Realm, the Second Realm, the Third Realm... Then he forcibly cut off the power he was absorbing, allowing the surrounding demon beasts to flee desperately.

The next moment, Sikong Jing appeared in front of Lian Kegu, who was completely unable to react.

At this instant, Sikong Jing was overwhelmingly strong.

Just like that, Sikong Jing’s claws landed on his shoulders. Narrowing his eyes, he roared, ”Die!”

Rip...

Lian Kegu was brutally torn in half, his screams echoing through the heavens and earth.

After that, Sikong Jing tossed aside the corpse and turned his gaze towards Mo Sang, who turned to run, screaming continuously, ”Sikong Jing, it was the Wangyou Sect that saved your sister’s life, you can’t kill me... Aah!”

Before she could finish, her shoulders were also grabbed by the claws and ripped apart in the same way.

Having dealt with them, Sikong Jing flashed back to Sikong Ling’s side, gently picked her up, and then wrapped in a black demonic wind, he flashed away. His destination was the War Soul Dynasty, and his speed was at its ultimate.

The pitch-black wings grew larger and larger, faster and increasingly ferocious. Demon beasts gave way wherever he passed.

”Master of Ten Thousand Beasts, quickly expel the power you’ve absorbed from your body, hurry up!”

Inside the Ten Thousand Beasts Sky Prison, the beasts roared incessantly.

But Sikong Jing continued on his own way, ignoring them and flashing wildly.

Time passed, he left the Northern Mountain, and his next target was the War Soul Imperial City... the Imperial Advisor Mansion!

...

At night, Gongyang Ren rubbed his aching head inside his small tower, reading the latest reports coming from various places within the War Soul Dynasty.

Everywhere were plaintive civilians, their curses softened by the scribe’s pen.

But Gongyang Ren knew that he and Lu Lungan had lost nearly all their prestige, all because of the name ”Sikong Jing.”

Gongyang Ying walked over leisurely, holding a cup of tea, and gently placed it down, saying, ”Grandpa, don’t worry too much. Things have come to this point; there’s nothing we can do.”

At this, Gongyang Ying’s face was also filled with exhaustion and a bitter taste in his eyes.

These past few days, his mind was flooded with the name ”Sikong Jing,” and now he was cursed by countless people because of him. The once exalted Moon Soul Fairy seemed to have fallen to the mortal world.

Today, she had another realization. Indeed, she was no match for Sikong Jing, their methods weren’t even on the same level.

Even Grandpa and Lu Lungan had no way to deal with him.

”Grandpa, at least for now Sikong Jing hasn’t made public the matter of my Moon Soul Battle Body,” Su Yuexi said.

”Once my Battle Body truly erupts, I will definitely seek revenge on him.”

The matter of the Moon Soul Battle Body was also a consolation, for at least Gongyang Ying didn’t think he was weaker than Sikong Jing in martial arts.

But Gongyang Ren’s expression became increasingly bitter-sweet.

In reality, whether to disclose the Moon Soul Battle Body was at Sikong Jing’s whim; who knows if he would go public with it after returning to the Long Night Empire, or if he would use it to threaten them again?

This damned sword was like one hanging over their heads.

Suddenly, a hurried knocking sounded. The voice of Aunt Mian came from outside, ”State Preceptor, the Sect Leader of the Cross Saber Sect has arrived.”

As her voice faded, Gongyang Ren shuddered, quickly escorted his granddaughter out to meet the guest.

Soon, they saw a middle-aged man with a big beard enter the Imperial Advisor Mansion, a distinctive horizontal saber of the Cross Saber Sect slung on his back, exuding a formidable aura; he was a powerhouse of the Reverse Soul Realm.

The middle-aged man was the Sect Leader of the Cross Saber Sect, known as Nu Heng.

Behind him stood a dozen or so experts and disciples of the Cross Saber Sect.

”Sect Leader Nu Heng, such a distinguished guest,” Gongyang Ren hurriedly put on a smile, bowing his hands repeatedly in greeting.

However, Nu Heng wore a cold expression and snorted disdainfully, ”Gongyang Ren, keep your smiles to yourself, we’re not in the mood for that now.”

”Our Cross Saber Sect has always preferred directness, no need for insincere courtesy.”

”I just want to ask you now, my closed-door disciple Yan Benxing died in your Imperial Advisor Mansion, my martial brother Wu Zhenzhi died here as well, and yet you allowed Sikong Jing to escape, what is the meaning of this?”

Nu Heng was Yan Benxing’s master...

As these words came out, both Gongyang Ren and Gongyang Ying’s faces slightly changed. The latter crisply replied, ”Sect Leader Nu Heng, that’s not how it is. Sikong Jing doesn’t simply ’escape,’ he’s too cunning.”

What does it mean ’allowed Sikong Jing to escape’? We didn’t release a thing; he has harmed us badly enough as it is.

These words from Sect Leader Nu Heng made it sound as if we were in collusion with Sikong Jing, utterly preposterous.

”Then it means you are all too incompetent, what kind of State Preceptor, what kind of Moon Soul Fairy, all useless and worthless,” Nu Heng’s voice boomed with unchecked rage, his words extremely harsh, causing Gongyang Ren’s face to turn a deep shade of red, yet unable to retort.

Now, the entire War Soul Dynasty was cursing them like this.

Gongyang Ren could only suppress his anger, and replied diplomatically, ”Sect Leader Nu Heng, if you had joined us in the pursuit of Sikong Jing, perhaps the situation wouldn’t have come to this.”

Since he had initiated the manhunt for Sikong Jing, this was the first time the Cross Saber Sect had responded.

And the Imperial Advisor Mansion had already notified them in advance.

But Nu Heng arrived hurling insults, and Gongyang Ren, no pushover himself, had to counterattack.

”Hmph, who knew you could be so incompetent?”

But it was futile; Nu Heng launched another terse insult, almost blowing the grandfather and granddaughter’s tops off.

Ignoring them, Nu Heng continued, ”We can take action now, quickly give me Sikong Jing’s location.”

Hearing this, the Gongyangs had no choice but to hold back, hurriedly reporting the possible location of Sikong Jing in the Northern Mountain.

Nu Heng nodded in understanding, and as he was about to turn away, he suddenly put on a smile and said, ”Another thing, since my disciple Yan Benxing died in your Imperial Advisor Mansion, you must compensate me with something.”

As the words left his mouth, the Gongyangs were dumbstruck: how could they compensate for someone already dead?
