Berserk God of War

Chapter 651: Chapter 651: Unexpected Visitor

The attention of everyone promptly shifted to the entrance, and they saw a middle-aged couple approaching, one of them being Hua Lidian, whom Sikong Jing recognized.

The other middle-aged woman had a triumphant look, carrying herself with an air of superiority.

Upon seeing this, Gongyang Ren hurried forward to greet them, while the other guests showed no sign of surprise.

They had grown accustomed to this, after all. The Overlord Commerce would certainly attend to observe such a potential battle between two super geniuses, it was just unexpected that this time, only two people had come.

After exchanging a few pleasantries with Gongyang Ren, the couple took their seats at the most prestigious spot.

They sat with the Palace Master of the Three Academies, and although they were not the stars of the event, the prominence of the Overlord Commerce was undeniable.

”Elder Wu Zhenzhi of the Cross Saber Sect and his disciple, Yan Benxing, have arrived...”

Just when the guests thought that all who were expected had arrived, another announcement echoed from outside.

And this time, the arrival was completely unexpected.

In that moment, surprise showed in the eyes of Gongyang Ren—it was Yan Benxing, the Young Master of Huanteng Mountain Villa.

Moreover, he was the Closed-door Disciple of the Cross Saber Sect Leader.

Gongyang Ren was well aware of the events that had transpired in Wang Hun State involving Yan Benxing, which had led his granddaughter Gongyang Ying into a series of encounters there.

It could be said that it was all sparked by Yan Benxing’s actions.

It was because of his ascension to the top three hundred of the East Plain Thousand Tyrant List that Gongyang Ying had been invited to visit Wang Hun State.

Gongyang Ying, too, widened her eyes in shock. Wasn’t Yan Benxing captured by the Tieshan Sect?

How had he returned to the Cross Saber Sect?

In the shadows, Sikong Jing’s brow furrowed deeply. This was an unexpected guest he had not anticipated—Yan Benxing’s visit might well be targeted at himself... or rather, aimed at the Soul Eater Leader.

No matter how shocked they were, as one of the Seven Sects, Gongyang Ren still had to hastily lead Gongyang Ying to welcome their guest at the door.

Regardless of Gongyang Ying’s dislike for Yan Benxing, she still had to greet him softly: ”Hero Yan, I never thought we would meet again after parting ways in Wang Hun State. Were you alright at Tieshan Sect?”

Gongyang Ying had witnessed with her own eyes how Yan Benxing was harmed by Soul Eater and taken away by the masters of the Tieshan Sect.

She was curious as to how Yan Benxing had escaped from the Tieshan Sect.

”Moon Soul Fairy, thank you for your concern. I am well now,”

”It was my master who paid a tremendous price to trade my life back from the hands of the Tieshan Sect. But tonight, I come to the Imperial Advisor Mansion not only to catch up with Moon Soul Fairy but also for another reason.”

”I seek the head of Soul Eater!”

His words to Gongyang Ying were still gentle, but his later tone was laced with murderous intent.

Yan Benxing cut straight to the chase; he couldn’t wait another moment. He was set on killing the Soul Eater Leader.

At the same time, Elder Wu Zhenzhi of the Cross Saber Sect looked at Gongyang Ren and said in a serious tone, ”Imperial Advisor Gongyang, call out this Soul Eater who has become one of your guards. He must die today.”

As the words fell, the terrifying atmosphere of a Golden Body Realm Peak enveloped the entire venue.

Except for the two representatives from Overlord Commerce and Gongyang Ren, everyone’s complexion changed drastically as they felt this formidable pressure.

Gongyang Ren frowned deeply, troubled by the situation. Soul Eater would definitely not come out willingly to face death, and if he died, the secret of the Moon Soul Battle Body would be exposed, which was unacceptable.

To make matters worse, Soul Eater would use this to his advantage, forcing Gongyang Ren and the Imperial Advisor Mansion to protect him.

With these thoughts, Gongyang Ren spoke, ”I’m sorry, Elder Wu, Soul Eater is now a guard of the Imperial Advisor Mansion; I can’t hand him over.”

”Hmm?”

Elder Wu’s aged eyes widened fiercely, fixing a firm glare on Gongyang Ren as he growled, ”Gongyang Ren, are you planning to defy the Cross Saber Sect?”

As one of the strongest sects in the East Plain Northern Land, the Cross Saber Sect didn’t take Gongyang Ren too seriously.

”I’m in a difficult position; Soul Eater is also likely a disciple of the Tieshan Sect... I really... don’t know what to do.”

Gongyang Ren’s voice was neither humble nor overbearing, and he pondered aloud, ”How about this, then? Today is a banquet to entertain young talents, and if it’s only Hero Yan who makes a move, then if Soul Eater dies, Tieshan Sect can’t blame us.”

Although the Cross Saber Sect was one of the Seven Sects, Gongyang Ren wasn’t very afraid.

The Seven Sects and Five Sects were not as numerous as the Three Academies, and a sect wouldn’t be a match for a Great Dynasty. It was merely because the other side had terrifying powerhouses in the Reverse Soul Realm that they didn’t want to cause unnecessary conflict.

And his statement caused Elder Wu’s brows to raise again, his gaze still as stern as ever.

”Please understand my difficult position, Elder Wu,” Gongyang Ren remained neither servile nor overbearing.

His meaning was clear: he didn’t want to offend the Cross Saber Sect, but he also didn’t want to offend the Tieshan Sect, so they needed to let the youngsters have their fight. If Soul Eater was outmatched, naturally Tieshan Sect wouldn’t hold them responsible.

Of course, what Gongyang Ren hoped was for Yan Benxing to know better and give up, as he had already lost to Soul Eater once before.

But what Grandpa Gongyang and his grandson hadn’t expected was that Yan Benxing suddenly let out a vicious laugh and said, ”Fine, I agree!”

Then, he turned his gaze to the deepest part of the banquet where Hua Lidian and Ren Dongmeng were seated and continued, ”Since Overlord Commerce is here, I, Yan Benxing, will step over the corpse of Soul Eater to enter the top hundred of the East Plain Thousand Dominator List.”

As his words fell, the True Qi within him surged forth, revealing that he had already reached the peak of the Daoist Martial Fifth Realm.

The vigorous surge of True Qi caused Gongyang Ying to inadvertently widen his eyes; not even twenty days had passed since they had left Wang Hun State, and Yan Benxing had already progressed from the Daoist Martial Fourth Realm to the peak of the Daoist Martial Fifth Realm?

Moreover, he boldly declared that he intended to enter the top hundred of the East Plain Thousand Dominator List.

At the same time, the students from the three Subacademies and the Heavenly Dao General Academy also couldn’t help but freeze their gaze.

Especially the leading Martial Arts Genius of the Main Academy, who murmured, ”The Cross Saber Sect has produced another super genius.”

For the younger generation to reach the Daoist Martial Fifth Realm meant they could enter the top hundred of the East Plain Thousand Dominator List.

This achievement was enough to cause most young people to look up to them.

Meanwhile, a smile finally appeared on the face of Ren Dongmeng from Overlord Commerce as she glanced sidelong at Hua Lidian and said, ”It seems that another top-tier genius has emerged from the regions under my responsibility, such as the War Soul Dynasty and other territories.”

Hua Lidian’s mouth twitched slightly, and he remained silent.

Ren Dongmeng continued her assault, adding, ”Whether Sikong Jing from the Long Night Empire comes or not is uncertain, but all I know is that even if he came here today, he wouldn’t make it into the top three.”

Clearly, Overlord Commerce also divided their observation of geniuses and ranking by territory.

Hua Lidian was responsible for the Long Night Empire and its neighboring regions, while Ren Dongmeng primarily focused on the War Soul Dynasty.

There was a competitive relationship between them.

Hua Lidian fell silent, and then spoke calmly, ”Not making it into the top three? That’s not necessarily true.”

Saying Sikong Jing wouldn’t be among the top three was underestimating him, ranking him below Gongyang Ying, Yan Benxing, and the student from the Heavenly Dao General Academy, but Hua Lidian countered, based on Sikong Jing’s special circumstances.

He would never forget how Sikong Jing had expressed his disinterest in entering the top hundred aboard the Divine Spaceship.
