Berserk God of War

Chapter 657: Chapter 657: They Were All Played by Him

At this moment, Gongyang Ren finally understood, and his body was brimming with a killing aura!

Sikong Jing had slain the real Soul Eater Leader and taken his place as the Soul Eater, starting to lay out his plans with his own granddaughter, Gongyang Ying. His true purpose was only one, to ambush Mo Ci within the Imperial Advisor Mansion.

The reason he had not laid a hand on Ying’er, the reason he controlled the mountain bandits to not kill the common people, was not because of his deep love, nor was it because he wanted to wash the mountain bandits’ reputation clean again.

It was because... he was not the truly evil-filled Soul Eater Leader.

The reason he was not the extraordinary second realm as rumored, but only in the Daoist Martial Realm and with terrifying combat strength, was precisely because he was Sikong Jing.

The reason he did not become a personal guard was not out of fear of being misunderstood, but to set up the environment for the assassination of Mo Ci.

The reason he killed Gong Bei Qiang to escape surveillance was not just to deliver the Thousand-year-old White Ginseng, but to kill Lian Zhiyu and thereby spread his name throughout the entire War Soul Imperial City, luring Mo Ci out.

And the appearance of the Iron Bone Flying Vulture out of nowhere was because it was the Little Flying Vulture that Sikong Jing brought with him the second time he appeared at the Imperial Advisor Mansion!

From the moment Sikong Jing appeared as the Soul Eater, everything was prepared for Mo Ci.

Whether it was himself or his granddaughter Gongyang Ying, whether it was any academy, everyone was deceived by him, used by him.

Not just Ying’er was like a fool, but everyone was like a fool, manipulated by him completely.

”He is Sikong Jing, the Soul Eater is actually Long Night Sikong Jing!”

Buzzing...

Gongyang Ying’s mind buzzed, disbelievingly staring at Sikong Jing, her head shaking frantically, not daring to believe.

The people around looked at each other, their gazes fixed on Sikong Jing, their scalps numb.

Clang!

Suddenly, the sound of weapons colliding rose, and the members of the War Soul Star Palace took several steps forward. Dou Youchuan roared, ”Sikong Jing, you are actually Sikong Jing, hand over my father immediately.”

Now, his father, Vice Master Dou, was still missing, and Dou Youchuan was in a state of extreme urgency.

Their reactions were like rubbing salt into Gongyang Ying’s wounds, placing the blame for Gong Bei Qiang’s death on Sikong Jing, and now they discovered that it was indeed Sikong Jing who had killed Gong Bei Qiang.

Gongyang Ying’s feelings grew increasingly uncomfortable, feeling as if both body and mind couldn’t bear it anymore.

On the other side, Qiu Qifeng and Qiu Baichu exchanged a silent look, then suddenly drew their weapons and charged forward, exclaiming, ”Sikong Jing, I didn’t expect you to hide your identity within the Imperial Advisor Mansion, I’m going to kill you...”

Since Sikong Jing had exposed his identity, then they of the War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace must also carry through with the act.

”Come, surround Sikong Jing for me, I must avenge my Third Imperial Brother.”

That was the voice of the Fifth Prince of War Soul, Lu Chi...

Of course, he was just putting on a show, no one truly dared to rush forward and attack, the deterrence of the Iron Bone Flying Vulture was right there!

In the distance, atop a wall corner that hadn’t collapsed.

Hua Lidian looked at Ren Dongmeng with an exaggerated expression, laughing, ”I won the bet. I said Sikong Jing would come and he sure did come, I said he would appear before us and here he is, hahaha...”

Hua Lidian couldn’t stop laughing aloud and continued, ”Also, Steward Ren, didn’t you just say the Soul Eater was not a young man?”

If the Soul Eater is Sikong Jing, what else could he be if not a young man?

And he defeated Yan Benxing, now who dares to say I’m shortsighted, who dares to say Sikong Jing can’t make it into the top hundred? And Ren Dongmeng also said that Sikong Jing couldn’t make it into the top three here, no way your sister!

Upon hearing those words, Ren Dongmeng’s mouth twitched frantically, no one had expected the Soul Eater to be Sikong Jing!

She was slapped hard in the face, and her eyes filled with frost as she glared at Sikong Jing, wanting to say nothing to Hua Lidian.

In any case, the current situation had evolved into an all-encompassing siege on Sikong Jing.

But Sikong Jing’s gaze was still fixed on the huge pit, completely ignoring the surrounding circumstances, as he slowly opened his mouth and said, ”Mo Ci, so you were hiding inside to heal your wounds. Then take my strike with the Iron Bone Flying Vulture!”

As soon as he finished speaking, Sikong Jing leaped onto the back of the Iron Bone Flying Vulture, his True Qi merging with the demonic power of the vulture.

The long staff in his hand plunged down with the force of his dive, assisted by the power of the vulture.

He had no idea what Mo Ci was doing inside the huge pit, whether she had any countermeasures, but with the report from Little Demonic Rat after getting close, he now knew Mo Ci had been injured by the impact from Iron Bone Flying Vulture.

That sneak attack by Iron Bone Flying Vulture was not in vain; it had not failed.

No matter what, today Mo Ci must be slain!

A huge shadow of the staff plummeted vertically into the pit, and powered by the demonic energy of the Reverse Soul Realm, this blow was many times more powerful than when it had first made contact with Gongyang Ying, scattering everyone surrounding him in an instant.

However, this time people were prepared and did not end up as embarrassed as before.

The next instant, the Frost Power also surged skywards.

Mo Ci finally had to burst out from the huge pit, forced to face the staff head-on, for avoidance would only compound her injuries.

The icy sword blades collided fiercely with the shadow of the staff at the edge of the pit, and the terrifying power once again shook the surroundings. Some of the ordinary young talents and others who were too close were all spitting blood as they retreated.

Some fainted on the spot and convulsed continuously on the ground.

Members of the War Soul Star Palace and the War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace also withdrew one after another, even the two Palace Masters were unable to withstand this shock.

A few breaths later, the two forces dissipated, and Mo Ci leaped out with blood on the corner of her mouth.

She stared at Sikong Jing atop the Iron Bone Flying Vulture, her voice cold as she said, ”Well done, Sikong Jing, you actually ambushed us within the War Soul Imperial Advisor Mansion, and you... you have even tamed the Iron Bone Flying Vulture of the Long Night Imperial City. I underestimated you!”

Her voice was like a chilling wind, and she knew she had been played by Sikong Jing just now.

Sikong Jing’s eyes were piercingly sharp as he retorted coldly, ”Mo Ci, I have underestimated you too. I didn’t expect you to reach the Second Stage of Reverse Soul. Otherwise, the previous blow from Iron Bone would have inflicted much heavier injuries than you have now, wouldn’t it?”

The Iron Bone Flying Vulture was at the peak of the First Stage of Reverse Soul.

No matter how strong Mo Ci was, at an equivalent level she would at least be severely injured, but Sikong Jing didn’t expect Mo Ci to be in the extraordinary second realm.

And her, having cultivated the Supreme Forget Love Technique, was stronger than most people at the same level.

So Sikong Jing’s sneak attack was a success, but also a failure, as it did not inflict the serious injuries on Mo Ci he had anticipated.

”Yes, unexpected, right? The reason I, the Sect Master, reached the Second Stage of Reverse Soul, is thanks to Wang Ge.”

”Her understanding of the Supreme Forget Love Technique is different from mine, and I was inspired by it.”

Mo Ci’s mouth twisted into a sinister and terrifying smile, and by bringing up Wang Ge at this time, she was provoking Sikong Jing.

Sikong Jing’s eyes filled with longing as he asked in a low voice, ”Wang Ge, how is she now?”

Even at such a time, Sikong Jing was still thinking of his sister, eager to know what had befallen her since her journey to the west.

Upon hearing this, Gongyang Ying, whose mind was still muddled, was stunned; Sikong Jing... no, Soul Eater Leader had finally said something that wasn’t a deception; he truly knew Wang Ge.

Gongyang Ying seemed to find a sliver of comfort...
