Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Hill lowered his head and pondered for a moment, although he didn’t think the Red Dragon would dare pull him into the mix... unless the Styx intended to turn against the World Tree, otherwise it wouldn’t do such a pointless thing.

And without the backing of the Styx, based on that dragon... Hill was quite confident in his Dragon Subduing Power.

Even if Hill fell into the Styx, it would be at most uncomfortable, and he wouldn’t lose his power.

The Red Dragon, even if it were an Ancient Red Dragon, in the eyes of the Earth Bear, was merely someone with a bit of strength.

He simply didn’t have the guts to target Hill.

After all, this was a guy whom, if not killed, would cause endless trouble.

Anyone with a bit of brains could think about the consequences of offending him without suppressing him... The Undead Tribe was definitely not something the Styx would welcome.

If those guys were really brought into this world, the Styx would probably choose to abandon this world.

The old man was accustomed to peace and absolutely couldn’t accept millions or even billions of ducks quacking in his domain.

There was no choice, even in a world controlled by the Styx, only the overall Power of Laws would lean towards death and souls, not that there would be no new life.

Once the world returned to its track, and the World Will condensed again, it would even slowly breed new life.

The Styx could even grow plants!

So, such a world would definitely not stop Coron from hopping over to open a door.

And as long as Hill was willing to ask, Coron would definitely come... There was no prohibition against such summoning in the rules of the Styx, he would absolutely not anticipate refusing such a solution in advance.

Only after suffering enough punishment would the Styx write into its rules the refusal of the Undead Tribe’s appearance.

But before that, it was already enough for Hill to summon the Undead Tribe to turn this world upside down.

Once the Styx Force left, the Red Dragon and his daughter wouldn’t have the ability to continue to control this world, even if Gilbert wouldn’t raise a heart of independence at that time... but it’s basically impossible.

In some sense, even the newly condensed World Will would project itself onto Gilbert.

If Hill guessed correctly, he actually already had Divinity and Divine Power in the Styx, only the gathering of Divinity was missing.

And the reason the Red Dragon’s daughter was able to suppress him and gain his loyalty was because of the ability granted by the Styx, not that she was truly much stronger than Gilbert.

So, once Gilbert had the possibility of becoming the World Master, even if he remained kind and principled, he wouldn’t tolerate being controlled by others.

Ha~ After all, the World Will would influence his will... And even if the world had already resigned itself, when given the chance to gain independence again, it wouldn’t give up.

The reason Hill wasn’t worried that the Red Dragon would reveal his presence to escape Fengo and Glaysia’s chase was that he had thought this through.

As long as the Red Dragon and his daughter indeed longed for this world and didn’t dare to leave the protection of the Styx, they would obediently watch Hill enjoy the show here.

Even if he felt as if there was nothing left to live for, he wouldn’t do it.

It was just that discovering the existence of an outsider recently made Hill a bit worried... This outsider was either Rommel from the Tower of Dark Enigma or someone in the Tower of Despair.

That place had always concerned him a bit.

How should I put it... The Tower of Dark Enigma ended up in such a state today not because of fate, but because they indeed made wrong judgments initially.

The reason fate turned to them is that they erred first.

It’s definitely not that they made mistakes after fate chose them.

Fate, this terrifying existence, still abides by the rules when no one tries to play with it.

However, the Tower of Despair walked a bit too steadily.

Especially after Hill had reviewed the well-documented history... the Tower of Despair always maintained a middle-upper position in major events.

And other Magic Towers, especially the strongest ones, though they consistently stayed in the top ten, were never so stable in their management of various matters.

There was always a time when they made wrong choices, but because they had thick blood and, even though they erred, not so gravely... Hill even suspected some were deliberately making mistakes.

The Tower of Despair had similar situations, but even so, they never truly suffered setbacks. How should I say this... it seemed they knew what the outcome of such actions would be, but weren’t very certain.

So, even when they took action, because they knew the result in advance, they made enough precautions so that they wouldn’t lose everything.

However, after all, they still made obvious mistakes, so probably no one cares.

It’s only when encountering someone like Hill who enjoys gathering data that you can spot such subtle differences.

Moreover, Hill always remembered that after the Red Dragon appeared, it headed towards the Tower of Despair first... and only then did it seek other places to loot.

That tower might also have some problems.

This seemingly crisis-ridden world might actually harbor many secrets... The Devil here, on the other hand, is the most overt part.

Hill once again felt relieved about his initial choice.

Actually, if he had risked alerting Asmodeus and directly steered the Pulvey Ship into the outer universe, he might have escaped.

But the most probable issue with such action wouldn’t affect Hill’s life but Pulvey’s soul.

For the Lord of Hell, Pulvey’s exposed soul was too vulnerable to be stripped, after all, Hill didn’t turn him into his Puppet.

Hill would never do such a thing; even if that were his only chance, he couldn’t choose to sacrifice a friend’s life.

Not to mention, it was for a situation where he could opt for a second escape route.

Especially since that second route only added a bit of danger, not enough to get him killed outright.

Hill wasn’t sure if he would turn into a selfish jerk in the face of certain death.

But at least now, he couldn’t do it.

List also understood Hill’s thoughts, so he didn’t mention it, just emphasized he would wait for Hill’s return... As for Pulvey, he probably wouldn’t even think about it for a few hundred years.

But now, he’s rather grateful for it.

At the very least, he can now get to know how many grafted branches his future neighbor has grown on his head.

The Styx and the Hell Devils, who are bound to be intertwined eternally, go without saying.

There’s also someone of unknown origin hidden in the Tower of Dark Enigma.

And then, there’s actually a Tower of Despair.

Really... very interesting.

Hill racked his brains but couldn’t speculate what was happening at the Tower of Despair.

The Red Dragon caused such a major scene, yet that tower didn’t react particularly... Although when dealing with the Necromancy Tower’s attack, they handled it very skillfully, but given their usual strength, this wasn’t surprising.

Hill smiled slightly: This world, as the endpoint of his long journey, was truly meaningful.

It made him understand many things and figure out many more.

He should actually be grateful for the experiences in Aesces.

Some things only become clear when time has passed.
