Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 195: Chapter 32 Hill Now Has a Water Element Attack Spell_2

Hill choked suddenly, finding it hard to accept this line of thought.

But he could somewhat understand it, Water and Wood Elements both had strong life force, and Wood Element was basically related to those with an Elven Bloodline.

Although magicians had it much easier nowadays, after all, the Mage Association had likely been entrusted by the legendary warlock to protect many magicians and send them to the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Even magicians who reached the stage of Archmage, if they emerged, would at most face more temptations.

Yet many Water Sorcerers without attack power would probably prefer to be raised and taken care of.

As long as it wasn’t forced, even a legendary warlock who saw it wouldn’t interfere.

There are always people who choose the easier path, and Hill understood this very well; he wouldn’t laugh at someone for taking a path he would not choose himself.

However, this world is fair; if you choose to have children during the easiest time to advance, naturally you could only watch others surge ahead.

Even nobles, unless they became Professionals, would never indulge in carnal pleasures.

Those who wanted to advance would not waste unnecessary energy before reaching the Archmage stage.

Hill didn’t want to think about these matters; he just wanted to focus on his own path and keep moving forward.

After waving goodbye to the Water Elemental Chief, Hill returned to his bedroom.

He needed a good sleep; he had been too tired recently.

Emerging from the bathroom, Hill saw a small round table set up in the middle of the bedroom, with List standing quietly beside it, turning his head to smile and gently lifting the silver dust cover from the meal.

The aromatic scent that struck his nose made Hill lightly sniff, ”It smells so good!”

”This is a recipe I learned from the Undead Tribe’s chef,” List said with a smile, ”Stone Seafood Feast.”

”Then I’ll dig in,” Hill said cheerfully, sitting down, picking up his knife and fork, and beginning to eat.

”Mmm~” Hill commented happily, ”It’s so delicious! So fresh and tender!”

”I’m glad you like it,” List said with satisfaction, smiling.

Hill ate to his satisfaction, then stood and paced around the room to digest.

”The Undead Tribe’s extravagant feast was a huge success,” List reported slowly, ”It seems that Spencer has allowed them to continue operating that gourmet street. They just have to pay taxes.”

”How much?”

”Either one-tenth of the business turnover or 1000 Gold Coins a year.”

”So ruthless,” Hill commented, ”How can he do that? That’s extortion, isn’t it? For such a shabby stall, charging so much money from people of this world would probably get him killed.”

”When Old Cat returned, he said that Spencer had bought several large boxes of seafood,” List stated steadily, ”The boxes you made, sir.”

”Those special ones?” Hill stopped in his tracks, ”Spencer sent them over?”

”Spencer, having bought enough seafood, locked himself in the Lord’s Mansion and didn’t come out all night.”

”He has the nerve,” Hill muttered, ”Who couldn’t guess what happened?”

”As long as they haven’t seen him in person, others can’t say much,” List said with a smile, ”And the next morning, His Majesty the King also granted an audience to some nobles from Cortez.”

Hill continued his pacing, annoyed. Was he the only one left? He didn’t believe Adrian would miss out on the feast!

Never mind, Hill sighed silently to himself, the meal List made was quite delicious too.

”The emergence of new elements seems to have filled in many gaps in the world’s laws,” List said, lowering his head, ”The world’s protection has also become much stronger. Many temples analyze that the intensity of demonic attacks will decrease.”

”Hmm?”

”It’s becoming difficult even for legendary beings to break in.”

”That’s not too bad,” Hill responded.

”Master Fran has asked me to inform you that some mages have made new discoveries,” List continued, ”It’s knowledge related to the Abyss.”

”I don’t care about that, just give me a copy of the findings,” Hill said briefly.

As long as the Lord of the Abyss couldn’t intervene, Hill didn’t believe the demons could defeat the players.

Even if it was about temptation and corruption, Hill thought blandly players who are used to doing tasks wouldn’t be easily fooled.

Demons or devils, their goal was the soul.

If players did get greedy and were deceived, their only a Soul Projection, the Abyss couldn’t use them. If they sought the source through the projection, wouldn’t they be directly rushing into the embrace of the God of Time and Space?

Hill clasped his waist, taking a deep breath.

As long as he was careful enough, he could still live a stable life in this world.

”Edgar has been sent over,” List finally blurted out what he had been hesitating to say.

”What?” Hill almost jumped in surprise.

”Last time, a mage from Cortez took Edgar to threaten Master Fran.

Of course, he quickly gave up as soon as he knew the truth,” List lifted his gaze to look at Hill’s indifferent expression, ”Somehow, they decided to send him over suddenly.

They said it was a gesture of their apology.”

”What about the Earl’s side?”

”I asked someone to inquire with Mr. Manton,” List said slowly, ”He said the Earl is crazy enough, very troublesome. They’re about to reach the Kral Clan, and they don’t want to raise the child.”

”He’s the heir,” Hill said emphatically, ”That’s his responsibility.”

”He’s asked us to send him to Edward Camp,” List quickly continued, ”But the Countess seems to be missing, probably dead.”

”What about the child?” Hill collapsed onto the bed.

”He greatly resembles the Countess.”

”Then he should be mature enough,” Hill sat up and said, ”Ask him where he wants to go himself, tell him that his identity is in question, and I cannot possibly keep him by my side.”
