Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 158: Chapter 16 The Battle to Capture the Abyssal Gate_2

Hill blinked. Was this the reason they rarely came back dead? Each faction took turns at the top of the circular formation once, and then the next faction would take over, by the time it was their turn again, the cooldown for the Shield Wall major move had ended.

”What Shield Wall?” Adrian asked.

”Guardian’s Barrier,” Hill replied.

”Can this skill be used consecutively?” Adrian was stunned by the rotation of the Undead Tribe, ”Can the body of a Sky Knight withstand it?”

”Their divine-made elemental bodies,” Hill explained, ”have no flesh and blood, no blood vessels to tear.”

”Their bodies are equivalent to Legendary Knights,” Fran also said, ”just without such immense strength.”

”They really can hold on!” Adrian admired.

”That commander isn’t bad,” Fran said instead, ”he gives orders very timely.”

”It’s a pity we didn’t hear Snow Old Dog’s elaborate curses,” Xiao Chenhuan said from below, perfectly following up on Fran’s comment.

”They didn’t show the full picture?” Fran understood.

”Their recordings, they can extract parts from a long duration and combine them,” Hill could only explain this way.

”Alright,” Adrian picked up the conversation, ”I was wondering why it felt strange, that young master.”

Hill hadn’t expected Adrian to actually remember that young master. Perhaps the story was so convoluted that he remembered the victim?

The left underground passage suddenly appeared on the main screen, this winding path had finally reached its endpoint.

The Earth Element Lord was quietly waiting there.

”Is this the lord you contracted with?” Fran asked.

”Yes, Lord Korenden,” Hill hesitated but still said, ”It’s the lord who has a good relationship with the one who leads my house.”

Adrian suddenly laughed, swallowing back the words that everyone knew, before speaking, ”For you, becoming legendary is just a matter of time.”

”Every step must be taken steadily,” Fran suddenly quipped, ”I definitely don’t want a bear for a grandson, and neither does legendary.”

Hill then realized how pleased Fran was about his safe return, even after so long, his mood was still very joyous, enough to make a self-comment.

He and Adrian exchanged a smile, neither daring to pick up the conversation.

Hill saw another Water Element Lord on the screen, who he didn’t realize had also followed this small squad down.

The two lords were standing together, exchanging words unknown, while the swordsmen simply prepared bombs.

”My alchemical bombs?” Adrian recognized them at a glance, ”Which kind?”

”The Ice Series, I also gave them what I made,” Hill replied.

Adrian shifted his position with interest, knowing that his alchemical products were used against demons, he was somewhat pleased.

The lord’s conversation finished, Hill watched as Korenden’s body suddenly enlarged, absorbing the surrounding rocks and soil onto himself, instantly growing to 20 meters tall.

The Water Elemental Lord then summoned a vast amount of water, transforming into a fountain himself, directly spraying the players into the air in two groups.

Once the swordsmen went up, they first threw bombs with all their might, then drew their swords to confront the demons that realized something was amiss, combining Whirlwind Slash with sweep attacks to create a relatively safe space for the priests and mages coming up behind.

The majority of the demons’ attention was still on the large force in front, not noticing this small squad at the door; by the time they did, the ground and air filled with frost made it difficult for them to move.

The priests weren’t there to heal the swordsmen; they completely ignored the half-disabled swordsmen on the ground and directly released Holy Rain.

The mages then used Blizzard a second later.

Hill saw the fountain that lifted them also form into a big hand, summoning even more snowflakes.

They sealed the Abyssal Gate and its vicinity with holy water from the Holy Series, icing it all over.

The endless reinforcements from the Abyss were temporarily sealed inside the gate.

The camera abruptly switched back to the main screen: Snow Cloud Peak was shouting, ”Ink Brush, go.”

Mobi Chenxin, leading dozens of Space-Time Warlocks, released their long-suppressed major moves., clearing the nearby flying demons.

In the scene, one could clearly see the bodies of flying demons scattered everywhere, with even more corpses around the car at Snow Cloud Peak, including many knights.

They had almost drawn in all the flying demons, continuously luring them over in such a short amount of time and then killing them individually with ice spells.

These flying demons, thinking they had a chance to kill this commander, all flew overhead. They didn’t expect these humans to endure so much, losing so many lives without care, and stubbornly held on until the end when they nearly wiped them all out in one fell swoop.

Fran remarked with emotion, ”Not fearing death is truly wonderful!”

Adrian nodded in deep agreement.

”Mage, take to the skies!” Snow Cloud Peak continued, ”Priests, on your mark, 3, 2, 1, Rainfall!

Very good! Unleash the Blizzard! Quick!

Excellent!

Give both ice and fire protection to the knights, swordsman get ready!

Commanders, check everyone’s status! You have 30 seconds!

Watch yourselves, don’t blame the mage if you die again!”

Snow Cloud Peak held a tablet, counting seconds, then immediately spoke, ”Change formation to triangular! Magic Cult goes first! July, lead your men!

Baldy, follow closely! Young Master, you take the last row! You ** are all crooked! Triangular Formation! Are you trying to make it a diamond?

Ink Brush, your group takes the other corner!

All other groups, stay back and bring some from Wenjian!

Good! Is July ready? Hurry up! Demons are about to regroup! Don’t let the brothers at the Abyssal Gate die in vain!”

The camera pans up, following the demons inside the cave frantically attacking back, as the swordsman by the Abyssal Gate had all died out, the Water Elemental Lord transformed its body into a huge ice mountain, still protecting the priests and mages.

Though they continued to release Holy Rain and Blizzard intermittently and even consumed potions, they started to lose people.

Once the army had regrouped, the knights maintaining a triangular formation steadily advanced.

Amid the fierce blizzard, the demons in the cave were gradually eradicated, and at that moment, about half of the mages and priests on the ice mountain were still alive.

Even though Hill knew this had already happened, he still held his breath until this moment before he finally let it out softly.

At this time, Snow Cloud Peak began to regroup the army and communicate with the lords.

The Water Elemental Lord transformed back into a plump water figure, seriously bowing his head to listen to Snow Cloud Peak speak.

The Earth Elemental Lord simply circled the cave, Hill looked carefully, and noticed it was gently vibrating the rock strata, likely contributing to the collapse of the cave.

This shot was brief, then it switched to the Water Elemental Lord momentarily releasing the ice seal on the Abyssal Gate.

The now partially opened gate was suddenly met with angry howls, ”Humans, seeking death!” silenced by countless ice spears hurled into it.

Hill looked at the ice spears on the ground, neatly stacked, and whispered a GG for the demons at the gate.

The knights and swordsmen, wearing thick gloves, picked up the ice spears from the ground and forcefully threw them into the Abyssal Gate.

Compared to the mages casting the Ice Lance Technique, perhaps this method was even more damaging.

”This sort of collective tactic, we really can’t compare to the Undead Tribe,” Adrian murmured, ”How did they think of this?”

Hill quietly criticized to himself: To achieve the greatest strategic goal with the smallest sacrifice, such powerful techniques, of course, were honed through countless unlucky games.

Snow Cloud Peak stood outside the Abyssal Gate, looking up at the massive gate, ”Can it really not be broken?”

”No way, we’ve tried all skills, the priests’ Holy Series had a reaction, but it’s not very useful,” Rain Falling on Mortal Dust answered him.

”What about Baldy?” Snow Cloud Peak placed his hand on his forehead, searching around, ”Don’t tell me, with all his good stuff, he’s dead too!”

”What do you want from me?” Perfect Bald came over defensively, ”Looking for me at this time, definitely nothing good!”

”Ah!” Snow Cloud Peak revealed a sincere smile, ”I remember last time you took Liu Liu out to relax, it was by carriage, right?”

”You **, what do you want to do?” Perfect Bald shouted in shock, ”I only have one carriage!”
