Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 172: Chapter 22: Three Deities, Each Their Own Path_2

”I’m looking forward to what will happen in three days.”

Hill shook his head, watching Adrian take off swiftly, heading straight for the direction of the back mountain.

Clearly, Adrian’s heart was far from calm, yet compared to Fran, Adrian, who already knew when the outcome would appear, was not as unstable inside.

Hill stood up, realizing that he couldn’t enter deep meditation, he planned to spend these three days in the Alchemy Laboratory. His pendant could still be optimized, and perhaps in the future, he could carry Elements on him when he went out, which would save a lot of Mana.

In the pendant, he filled a depth of 3 meters with soil, and Hill invited several types of vines with strong life force to provide him with some cuttings, wanting to see if they could survive inside the pendant.

Several curious Wood Elements strongly requested to go in and try it out.

Hill suspected it was those few Wood Elements that had gone with him to the Black and White Path territory and, after returning, had bragged about something.

Elements don’t lie, but they can exaggerate.

As Hill was cheerfully playing with the Wood Elements, List hurried over: ”The giant screen in the territory! The King!”

Hill turned to look at the flustered List and raised his hand to soothe him: ”Isn’t it already known that something would happen?

But using the giant screen, I really didn’t expect that.

Could it be that in this short three-day period, all the cities within the Saral Tri-Nation have had giant screens built?”

”Yes, sir.” List asked, ”Will you go watch?”

”Notify the Elements and Treants in the territory, the Magical Beasts must also know.” Hill said, ”Today, all creatures in my territory are allowed to go to the village outside to watch the giant screen.”

Hill flew above the territory and spoke quietly: ”Alice, Merkel, what are you up to? Come on out!”

Two figures, one larger than the other, quickly appeared beneath Hill.

”Hill? Meow?” Alice asked in confusion, then suddenly leapt up, soaring into Hill’s arms, ”Merkel was holding me down to practice, it was terrible, what’s happened?”

”There might be something happening,” Hill said. ”Merkel would definitely want to know, go to the village square!”

Merkel scratched his face with a paw, and the black leopard dashed towards the village like a streak of light.

Hill patted Alice’s little head, telling her not to speak again, and flew over with her as well.

When Hill arrived, apart from the villagers from his territory, Fran and Adrian were also there with a dozen mages who had arrived early, standing outside the Lord’s Mansion, watching the grave-looking William on the screen.

”Hill, you’ve come,” Adrian said with a smile. ”His Majesty the King said he’s given us half an hour to prepare. There’s a major announcement to make.”

”Grandfather, Uncle Adrian, good day,” Hill said to the curious mages looking at him, nodding slightly, ”Sorry, I must excuse myself for a moment; I have some things to take care of.”

Hill looked at the Elementals and Magical Beasts pouring in from the door and arranged them in the Forest Array next to the church.

The Treants, just being nearby, didn’t need to directly face the screen to see it clearly. Their way of viewing the outside world wasn’t through eyes, so Hill let them stand in whichever Forest Array they wanted.

Hill said to the two giant pig Magical Beasts that also came out: ”No rubbing against the trees! No digging the soil! I will tell the Treants, if you root around their roots, they will whisk you up to the sky.”

Looking at the largest pig with its swiveling eyes, he said sternly, ”Don’t forget, your wife, his mom, is still in my pigsty!

If you upset me, either you take her away and provide for her yourself?”

The two pigs shook their heads frantically. They had become Magical Beasts, yet they didn’t eat as much as that sow—they truly couldn’t afford it.

If it weren’t for Hill seeing them repeatedly going back to look at that sow and deciding to raise her instead of sending her away, those two would’ve been killed by the other Magical Beasts in the forest long ago.

Hill, satisfied with the now subdued pigs, clapped his hands and walked back to join Fran.

Although he didn’t know the levels or identities of the mages who had now gathered here, seeing Fran and Adrian with no intention of introducing them to him, he decided to ignore them for the time being.

When the time arrived, the still William in the screen finally began to speak.

He stood solemnly in front of the Statue of the God of Time and Space, with a few Steles in front of him, surrounded by dozens of damaged items.

”Under the watchful gaze of the great God of Time and Space.

Witnessed by the God of Knowledge, God of Commerce and Contracts, Goddess of Agriculture, and God of Smithing and Craft.”

With each Deity William named, a beam of divine light descended nearby.

No wonder he had chosen to speak in front of a statue in a plaza.

William took out a long scroll filled with Divine Script.

He unrolled it, reading it out loud word by word.

The Divine Script, which represents the rules of the world, has a fundamental trait: it can only describe things that are true.

So usually, these scripts are only used when Deities communicate with each other, as a sign of sincerity.

So, Hill never doubted that the Gale Wolf was lying.

As William read halfway through, although it was broad daylight, the Starry Sky suddenly stood out.

The world consciousness intervened, and It spread William’s live broadcast to the entire world.

All over the starry sky, there were images of William holding the scroll and reading aloud.

When William read about the part where the Goddess of the Spring conspired with the demon, her Divine Kingdom slowly emerged, shaking violently.

Her believers began to abandon their faith in Her.

In the human world, She always appeared as a gentle and kind goddess; those who believed in Her would never doubt that their beloved goddess could be so vicious.

So now, the backlash was particularly terrifying.

The mournful voice of the Goddess of the Spring rang out, ”I just didn’t expect it!

I never wanted to betray the whole world!

It was that demon that deceived me!

Ahhh! I don’t want to die!”

Her Divine Kingdom began to collapse, with meteors raining down across the sky.

Hill watched in horror.

Although the Goddess of the Spring was a goddess of rules, due to her own foolishness, she could only use Faith Power to construct her Divine Kingdom.

Once the foundation of faith was broken, there was no chance of remedy.

The Goddess of the Spring, inherently selfish, declared rapidly as soon as She realized that the world consciousness had completely abandoned Her, ”I, the Goddess of the Spring, Milinna, hereby proclaim! Oh!

Time and space!”

With Her scream, a violent space storm swept through Her Divine Kingdom, with shards and meteors nearly hurtling out.

The God of Time and Space sealed the time of the Goddess of the Spring, freezing Her within her own Divine Kingdom, which then disintegrated into pieces.

William’s face still floated across the starry sky, ”The God of Time and Space despises traitors.” His haunting voice spread throughout the world before the world consciousness cut off the broadcast.

However, the turmoil in the starry sky had not completely subsided, as the Divine Kingdom of the God of Monarchy and Nobles dimmed during the tremors, with many meteoric fragments flying out as well.

He had now completely become one of the Deities of the Evil Faction.

The recuperating God of Monarchy and Nobles, without a word, suddenly exerted force to separate the Goddess of Love’s Divine Kingdom from his own.

”It’s a total failure!” His voice echoed throughout the world, ”Then I no longer need to care about this woman!

What does Nobility need love for! Only interests matter!”

Hill’s eyes widened as he watched the Divine Kingdom of the Goddess of Love slowly dissipate, leaving only half its size.

”I, Media!

I once walked the wrong path, but I have never given up on love!

My mistake was limiting love to within the Nobles and neglecting the common people!

Love is about mutual fulfillment, not dependence on others!

One wrong step leads to many!

As a deity, yet forced to rely on other Deities to survive!

But Arturas, it was you! You lured me onto this wrong path!

Since you are so heartless! I’m also relieved!

To my remaining believers!

Please believe in me!

Maybe I made many mistakes, but I have never given up on the existence of love!

Love is not begged for!

From now on, I do not need temples!

Please build an altar for me, and I will bless every loving couple!

May all lovers in the world ultimately become united!”

Though Media’s Divine Kingdom had shrunk significantly, it still glimmered brightly, and even Her allegiance had returned to a Neutral position.

The Goddess of Love, despite having taken the wrong path, had ultimately found her true self.
