Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 159: Chapter 17 The Battle of the Abyss

Snow Cloud Peak pulled the imposter loli by the neck, bending down to whisper in his ear.

Perfect Bald was tightly restrained, unable to move, his face twisted in unbearable pain.

”Old Snow Dog definitely hasn’t seen the finished product,” Old Cat summarized below, ”How much he resembles a super-villain who does nothing but evil deeds!”

”My God, am I actually feeling sorry for Perfect Bald?” Yeyu Qingyu leaned into Yun Che’s arms, chuckling.

”The person who edited this has some real skills!” Yun Che also laughed.

Hill looked on sympathetically as Xiao Liuliu hurried over from the Priest group, pulled the two apart, and ordered Bald to take out the car and hand it over to Snow Cloud Peak.

The two were still in a fog, having no idea what had happened, thinking that Xiao Liuliu was just too lazy to watch them argue.

Having gotten the car anyway, Snow Cloud Peak no longer cared, simply gesturing for the pained Perfect Bald to leave.

Xiao Liuliu was always clever, probably anticipating that such footage would appear; fearing she might be too late, lest the two rough characters provide even more material.

Unfortunately, even in just that brief moment, it was probably enough for the forums to concoct a year’s worth of jokes.

Full of ambition, Snow Cloud Peak asked the Water Elemental Lord to create an ice bridge that could accommodate tens of thousands standing at once.

On one side of the ice bridge was a staircase leading up, on the other a slide going straight to the Abyssal Gate.

Soon he connected another call and said, ”Ink Brush, take all the Magicians with you, and be the vanguard Dare to Die Squad!”

”What? Can’t your territory hold up anymore?”

”There are too many people! Wenjian smashed Qingcheng’s camp, and they’re going a bit crazy over there.”

”Wow!” The Young Master jumped three feet high, ”Why am I not out there?”

”If you were out there, maybe they wouldn’t have come to this side of the Black and White Path,” laughed Snow Cloud Peak, ”Good thing you’re a gang leader who’s not very useful.”

”Get lost!” the Young Master cursed angrily.

”Have all the group leaders tallied up the number of Scattered Ones ready to return?” Snow Cloud Peak said, ”Anyway, even if it’s not ready, there’s nothing I can do.

Just follow along and obey orders! Don’t blame me for the poor command if you die!

We’re just probing, to see how far we can get into the Abyss!”

The camera slowly extended from one end of the ice bridge, showing a densely packed crowd.

The players stood neatly behind the two horse carriages, both stuffed with all sorts of Alchemical Bombs, and Mobi Chenxin and his group stood on the carriages, holding on tightly to the body of the carriages.

This time, Snow Cloud Peak stood among the Mage group and directly said, ”Charge! Let’s see how far we can get!”

The Knights standing behind the two carriages pushed the carriages with all their might, then the camera switched to the tops of the people’s heads on the carriages.

It gave the impression that it was oneself rushing towards the Abyssal Gate at high speed.

In an instant, it went through the gate, filling the camera with countless Demons.

Mobi Chenxin and his group released their powerful moves in a flash, with piercing Space-Time Dragons accompanied by the screams of Demons.

A Great Demon charged straight at them, swinging its blade towards the few holding the carriage.

Mobi Chenxin stood motionless, split apart along with the carriage.

The carriage exploded into pieces mid-air.

This shot must have been from the second carriage, which quickly exploded as well, leaving only the rumbling explosions and flying limbs in the forefront.

After the explosion, the camera showed Knights neatly sliding down the ice slide, the Water Elemental Lord solemnly applying Water Shields to each brave warrior.

The rows of players sliding down seemed like an endless troop, stirring the hearts of those watching.

As the last row of players entered, the Water Elemental Lord dismissed the ice bridge, summoned a great amount of water to wash the ground, appearing as a Mage, who stayed behind to film from mid-air.

With the Water Elemental Lord satisfied and dissipated, the Earth element lord began to stomp his foot.

The dungeon shook violently, all the ground except where the Abyssal Gate stood cracked swiftly, with pieces plunging into the depths below.

As large rocks fell from above, the camera darted around. Finally, it kept circling the Abyssal Gate - Hill, with furrowed brows, saw the Demon Gate, practically rooted in the planet’s core, without a hint of shaking.

The filming Mage was killed by falling rocks, but until the very end, his camera stayed locked on the Abyssal Gate standing on a stalagmite.

Fran sighed deeply, ”This is no longer a realm that mortals can resolve.”

The camera returned to the large troop, appearing in what seemed like a giant volcanic crater.

The image showed the ground scorched, barren of grass, and covered in dust.

Then came the battered horse carriages, scattered corpses, and various Demons attacking furiously from above.

The camera slowly panned upwards, the surrounding cliffs were two to three thousand meters high, with the top showing a sliver of sky blackened by red. At the end of this shot, it rested on a corner of the Steel Fortress peeking out from above.

The ground was covered in a revolting oily mist, and toxic fumes filled the air.

Snow Cloud Peak’s voice drifted faintly, ”This is the first layer of the Abyss, known as the Plains of the Infinite Abyss. There are countless places like this volcanic mouth, all called the Abyss.

What we normally refer to as the Abyss is actually the Bottomless Abyss.

These abysses are innumerable, leading to countless planes just as hapless as the one we come from.

I don’t know what level of Demon resides in that Steel Fortress above, but at the very least, they are Legendary Level.”
