Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 189: Chapter 30 Spencer Queues for a Feast

In the cheers of the players, the routed sea monsters glanced back and sped up their escape, terrified.

Although they had long known that humans liked to eat the meat of magical beasts, they had never actually witnessed such a butchery scene. The legendary sea monsters felt they were still too young and didn’t want to grow up with such experiences.

The demigod sea turtle, silent as ever, passed by Bex who was watching, and swept him up to swim toward the deep sea.

Spencer stood up and said to several archmages, ”You should go out too, just come back when it’s time to rest.

I need to discuss the arrangements for the Undead Tribe with His Majesty the King.”

The archmages hesitated to leave, eager to see the King more and leave an impression.

Spencer waited coldly until they stepped out before briskly closing the door. He thought William must be watching the Undead Tribe’s live broadcast, not knowing what he would say, so it’s better not to let outsiders hear.

”Naven, I want to go over there,” said William, as soon as the connection was made, leaving Spencer speechless, ”So much delicious stuff!”

”Please remember your status,” Spencer said with difficulty.

”Ha! You can have your share, but you don’t care about your poor cousin?” William said dramatically.

”If you want me to save some food for you, just say it!” Spencer finally lost his composure, ”You’re not afraid someone might poison it on the way!”

”My dear Naven,” William dragged out his words, ”there is no poison effective against deities in this world.

Of course, if the Abyss were to invade fully, I wouldn’t dare anymore.

Before the gate opens, I have to store as much food as I can.”

”I understand, I’ll save some for you,” Spencer gave in, knowing it was pointless to argue with William.

”Should I handle the determination of military exploits for the Undead Tribe?” Spencer asked, ”Here, the reputation is growing too quickly, and there are too many people; it gives me a headache, how can I tally it all?

Also, it doesn’t seem enough to just calculate the highest reputation, since some people have been resurrected many times.”

”Oh, don’t worry about that,” William curtly said, ”The Scales of Space-Time at your place had a bit of divine power added, so its calculating ability is very strong. It will tally directly.”

”When did you do that?” Spencer was surprised, ”No wonder you didn’t send a Bishop over!”

”Send a Bishop? What for!” said William nonchalantly, ”The Space-Time Church doesn’t need such troubles. Who can be more powerful than the deities? We don’t rely on faith to get by!

Under the Scales, all beings are equal.

No matter who it is, devotion to the gods is less important than doing more good deeds.

Your location is the most dangerous place in Saral, how could I let you face it alone?

And the Goddess of Arts has also left divine power in her side hall.”

Spencer was momentarily speechless, feeling as though he was being thoroughly protected.

”Ah! By tomorrow morning, the Scales will produce results, then you can go to the church to check!” William said impatiently, ”I don’t have time for chit-chat! They’ve already started to divide the meat!”

As William decisively cut off the connection, Spencer turned to look at the tablet, finally unable to help himself from stealthily slipping back to ground level to turn on the big screen in the Lord’s Mansion.

He was too embarrassed to go to the scene, but couldn’t he watch a clearer version?

”Defensive Knights’ Order, come claim your share first!” an impassioned voice rose, ”Then the Priest Corps.

The rest of the orders will line up according to the damage ranking on my list! Leaders, come!”

Spencer listened curiously, wondering why the magicians, who had the strongest attack power, didn’t receive any special treatment?

Mages generally take priority in the allocation of resources.

The Undead Tribe’s logic has always been at odds with the rest of the world.

The commander stood on a hastily assembled platform, under which was a large expanse of marble ground that had been specially leveled.

The ground, repeatedly cleansed by the Purification Technique, was piled high with fish meat that glowed tantalizingly.

”This meat! Each top pile contains some. But exactly how good it is will depend on your own eyesight!” the commander said with a grin, ”I’ve hired a chef specialized in seafood to cut it! There won’t be a big difference, but the Defensive Knights’ Order can take an extra small portion and select from the larger cuts on the side.

Priests only get the larger cuts from the sides!

After all, too many knights died today! Without their performance, we wouldn’t have secured so much seafood!

As for other orders, after claiming their shares, they’ll wait with the Scattered Ones who are not in any order, to buy the rest.

Of course, it’s all cheap, mainly to buy supplies for tonight’s celebration banquet!

Fireworks! Beach! A sumptuous feast!

What are we waiting for! Let’s get started!”

Spencer saw the commander and several familiar faces from the Undead Tribe organising the beach.

The majority of the mages in their city specialized in the Water Element and Metal System, with only a few combining Water Element and Earth.

So he vaguely remembered those who practiced the Earth element as well.

Were they planning to clean up the beach?

Spencer hoped the archmages in his territory would be wise enough to help out.

If they still insisted on hiding in the Magic Tower, acting aloof and not building any rapport with the Undead Tribe, it wouldn’t be long before William sent them all off to Obastian.

Spencer had long noticed that mages and knights who were falling behind were gradually being dispatched to Obastian.

As the commoners from the North gradually moved closer to the Capital, the professionals in Obastian would soon have fewer people to exploit. By the time they realized what was happening, they wouldn’t be able to squeeze into the Capital’s circle of power at all!
