Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 147: Chapter 12 Heavy Snow Fills Bows and Swords, Battle Fire is Already Flying_2

”Are you asking to be complained about again?” the Recorder said helplessly.

”Ah? Did I say those two words again?” the Witness looked around and said, ”A slip of the tongue! A slip of the tongue! Please don’t misunderstand, Mr. Snow Cloud Peak!”

”Alright, everybody, keep watching the footage. After all, Doomsday is not willing to end just yet; it has already rallied and plans to persist.

This is a battle between a 200,000-member guild team and a 30,000-member scattered team led by an 80,000-member guild team.”

”Ah! Such an intense war! The ring of fire is almost reaching us!” the Witness cried out tragically, ”Mr. Hill! Save me!”

Hill frowned, this place was supposed to be quite remote; it shouldn’t have reached here so quickly. Was this meant to pin Adrian’s blame on him?

The Water Elemental Lord had already automatically dissolved back to the Elemental Realm, Hill didn’t know what exactly was happening, but the Earth Elemental Lord had already returned under the Forest Array.

Hill had wanted to ask what had happened, but now he could only prioritize saving his life.

In his Mental Sea, Hill communicated with the Earth Elemental Lord and the Beech, their combined powers quickly raised a semi-circular structure supported by wood.

Hill released all his enhancement spells, and just as the Wood Shield was about to shatter, a tall Earth Wall closed in together.

He and the Earth Elemental Lord strived to alter the material of the Earth Wall while a few Earth Elementals that had already slipped back started to petrify the ground inside the wall.

He knew as long as he could hold off this wave, he could make it; he could already hear the people of Wenjian cursing loudly outside.

Hill clearly understood that Adrian would step in to help, definitely with conditions to protect himself.

Hill was now very relieved that Adrian had heeded advice and hadn’t come down himself. In such a chaotic scene, it was still okay for him hiding, but if Adrian had flown down, it would have been a real death wish.

”Mr. Hill,” the Witness said hesitantly, ”it’s so dark! And I can’t see outside anymore.”

Hill smiled and waved his hand.

”What is this light? There are so many!” the Recorder exclaimed, looking at the dense green light above them.

”Wood Element Forbidden Spell, Dense Forest Stars,” Hill said quietly, ”It’s quite dark now, I’ve stimulated a bit of Mana, so you can see the glow of the spell.”

”Is this the spell Mr. Hill used to kill that high-level demon?” the Witness asked curiously, ”Snow Cloud Peak said, it could take down a Legendary!”

”Nonsense,” Hill said coldly, ”It’s only capable of creating an attack that even a Legendary must defend against! Only your Undead Tribe, by virtue of sheer numbers, managed to kill a Legendary with a lower-level entity. In our world, no Magister can truly kill a Legendary.”

”Not even Mr. Fran?” the Recorder asked curiously, ”But the people at the Mage Association say Mr. Fran is even stronger than some Legendaries.”

”My grandfather was an Alchemist Master!” Hill explained, ”With the right materials, an Alchemist Master can surpass one level to create Alchemy Items. In this world, only my grandfather is a Magister-level Alchemist Master.

But being on par with a Legendary doesn’t mean one can kill a Legendary. Protecting oneself, maybe driving away a single Legendary is possible; killing, absolutely impossible!”

”So, is that why Master Fran is treated like a Legendary?” the Witness sighed.

Hill said nothing more, merely directing a few branches supporting the roof to slowly turn transparent.

Although only about ten branches, each over one meter in diameter, extended beyond the ceiling, it was enough for Hill to go over and see outside.

Hill thought for a moment, then carved a passage through a branch large enough for two people to enter: ”Follow this path up, and you can see outside.”

Adrian was still watching! It’s best not to stress him out too much.

Hill pointed out the passage to them, with two horizontal branches next to it allowing Hill to squat inside and watch their movements.

This was perfect, Hill didn’t plan on being too close to the roof top.

Hill also didn’t plan to stay in any fixed place, as long as he could clearly see their screens, he would change his position every now and then.

Players are such unpredictable creatures. Despite all the help Hill had given these few people,

if there really was some large reward offered, striking Hill a blow would be all too tempting.

Hill, even with players like Black Rose whom he had friendly dealings with, wouldn’t spend long alone with them unless it was within his own Magic Tower, or in a store controlled by Srei.

How unstable players could be, Hill, who had played games for over a decade, knew very well.

Just thinking about what he would chose, facing an NPC that could bring wealth if killed, Hill became even more cautious.

If William hadn’t declared countless times to those players that an NPC, once dead, would never respawn, Hill believed he would be even more cautious.

In public, it was actually a bit safer. Most players still cared about their reputation, especially in their situation where each person had only one account.

Hill had thoroughly investigated; if they wanted to restart with a dead account, they had to wait for two weeks.

Earlier, when William had not opened access, it was more complicated, if an account was destroyed, one had to re-queue.

But William seemed to have set an upper limit, beyond which no new registrations could continue, and if this game became even more popular in their place, it might also reach this limit.

Compared to the current two-week restriction, Hill wished the waiting time to re-queue could be as long as possible.
