Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 125: Chapter 1: Cortez, Haifasardo, and the Saral United Kingdom were established.

Cohen flew into the forest by himself to find friends to play with, and Hill felt somewhat guilty but couldn’t do anything about it.

Animal companions, once dead, couldn’t be resurrected, and Hill didn’t want to face that outcome.

Hill handed the ring he was holding to List for handling; it contained various books and materials.

List was floating two rings, ”Although it’s a bit ominous, it’s better to prepare more!”

Hill took the rings, looking at the materials inside that were enough to sustain him for decades, he remained silent without words.

”Mr. Boen’s matter has been dealt with,” List continued, ”Mr. Adrian understood your intentions and said he would notify me to have someone send it over.

But he thinks you’re too cautious—how could anyone think that giving Boen a few more purification potions is unfair?

Mr. Adrian, always receiving unique treatment, will never understand what it means to fear less the scarcity than the inequality.”

Hill shook his head with a smile, ”Don’t worry about him. Boen has already received better treatment because of me.”

He knew well, Boen’s qualifications were clear to any mage. But Adrian always allocated resources to Boen based on the highest standards in the mage levels.

Although excessive, it was still understandable, but a little bit more might be the last straw. Boen still needed to interact with other mages, and what Hill could do for him was not to add any unnecessary burden.

He looked at List: ”I’ll go say goodbye to the three clan leaders and then leave; I’ll leave the management of the domain to you.”

”A refuge has already been set up inside the mountain. It can accommodate five thousand people,” List said, ”The protection from the Magic Tower is enough to last 10 years.”

Hill nodded, ”You are more rational than I, you handle these matters.”

Hill thought for a moment and took out Bex’s tortoise shell: ”Help me fetch the materials for making the highest-grade alchemy hut.”

List quickly directed the puppets to pack up materials from a ring and also brought up the wrist guards Hill had made when he was bored.

At that time, Hill had rarely obtained a fragment of legendary level, which was a piece from a kangaroo’s pouch, containing spatial power and high protective strength.

But it was too small, and the cost of making a pouch was too high.

It was originally just a research item, after all, it was a fragment. Unexpectedly, Hill obtained a bunch of small space crystals.

He didn’t know what he was thinking at the time, he made it into a fingerless glove, embedding it with space runes using those space crystals.

The resulting space was only about 500 square feet, its only value was that it could hold living things, but the old problem was the lack of air, making it uninhabitable for ordinary people. Hill had thought about using it as a magical beast bag.

He looked up at List, ”What do you need this for? I definitely won’t bring any one of them out this time.”

”It’s better to be prepared,” List simply said, ”I remember there are apprentices sent by Mr. Adrian there.

In case of emergency, putting them inside is safer than you risking going to rescue them.”

Hill’s eyes widened, nodding in agreement.

”If something happens, it’s still best to let them leave through the teleportation array first,” he muttered.

With everything ready, Hill went to inform the three clan leaders and then returned to Black and White Town through the teleportation array.

What a clear and straightforward name!

Hill noticed that the number of players had increased.

The Black and White Path was definitely not a secret anymore since the teleportation array had opened. In just a little while, the town was almost full.

Looking at the bustling players, some seemed to want to come over, so Hill quickly returned to the shop.

He had just settled down when Srei appeared, ”Mr. Hensley and Mr. Phillips have both left.

Miss Carl and Mr. Luis are still here.”

”Mr. Phillips, what will he say to His Highness Carl when he goes back?” Hill fantasized, ”I remember when he first came, he was very eager to recommend Miss Carl to me!

But in less than a day, someone else had won her over.”

”Maybe he will propose,” Srei answered.

”So soon? How did you know?”

”When I left, eighteen were sending me off. Miss Carl’s eyes were brimming with tears, and Mr. Phillips was swearing oaths.”

Hill collapsed on the sofa, ”Ah, why did I leave so early.”

”If you hadn’t left, they wouldn’t have either,” Srei calmly threw cold water on him.

Hill rolled his eyes at him.

”During this period, I’ve been studying the Alchemy Hut upstairs.” Hill stood up, and began clearing off his workbench, ”Unless it’s something important, do not disturb me. I can’t let Bex’s goodwill be wasted!”

Hill plunged into building the house, leaving everything to Srei to handle. He occasionally asked about the situation, and knowing everything was normal, he didn’t interfere further.

Until a month later, when William deployed troops to Cortez.

He publicly displayed the evidence obtained from the Haifa Royal Family, showcasing them one by one on a flat board at the Cortez border for three full days.

The right of succession for a noble’s eldest son always refers to a legitimate offspring. An illegitimate child being anything other than a slave is only if that noble has a conscience.

However, the proud Cortezians had been ruled by a descendant of an illegitimate child for an entire 10,000 years.

The nobles and the Royal Church didn’t dare to speak at this time.

If they acknowledged the current Cortez Royal Family, then both the nobility and the Divine Kingdom of the God of Monarchy would collapse.

With their own deities still trapped in the Abyssal Gate, they dared not respond at all.

All of Cortez fell silent.

Of the newly entered 20 million players, only the top 500,000 in level qualified to join this expeditionary force.

But that was enough to suppress any resistance.

None of the Cortez nobles sent troops to resist. They were all crushed by this terrible truth.

William very easily took control of the Royal Capital of Cortez.

Then, using the old methods, he expelled all nobles except for those who were neutral, and summoned the players.

Ultimately, he declared himself the king of Cortez, Haifasardo, and Saral Country.

Of course, the members of the Cortez Royal Family were very dissatisfied, but they despised that branch of the King even more.

To think that their own country had kept a secret for 10,000 years, completely unaware that the evidence was in someone else’s hands.

Many Cortez nobles left; they could not bear this outcome.

Of course, even more miserable were those Haifasardo nobles who had bankrupt themselves just to settle in Cortez.

Fortunately, William issued an announcement: he did not care whether they had previously offended him, only the factional stance of the nobility mattered.

Of course, followers of the God of Nobility, regardless of faction, all had to leave.

When Mr. Adrian contacted Hill, he said that the Cortez Royal Family had always hinted that the first king of Haifasardo was the illegitimate son of the King of Cortez.

The Cortez nobility always despised the Haifasardo nobility for this reason.

They cursed the illegitimate child and his worthless followers for over ten thousand years, and in the end, the curse fell back on themselves.

Moreover, even after ten thousand years, the Cortez Royal Family did not know that the Haifa Royal Family was still guarding that piece of evidence tightly.

Their king believed he could capture Miss Cassel, truly thinking she had the treasure left in Cortez by the King’s maternal family.

Hill could only helplessly think: perhaps the Saral People should be grateful to their king, whose soul is divine?

The turmoil in the South had little to do with the people in the North; after gossiping for a few days, they continued with their lives as usual.

However, the peaceful and calm days ended abruptly when Mobi Chenxin rushed in shouting, ”We’ve seen the gate! It’s moving!”
