Algorithm system

Computer fortune tellingAccording to the theory of Professor Zhou Shuiyi, that charlatan—people will definitely be influenced by psychological factors, and Feng Shui can affect people through psychological factors.

Lin Yuan agreed with this point.

Forget about Feng Shui, even the weather can affect a person’s mood.

If it’s for a silly person like Xia Ye, the sweetness of a cup of milk tea can affect her joy and sorrow.

The argument was fine, but that charlatan’s proof was terrible.

The data in his paper was collected by him on-site, and this collection method was naturally fine. But the data he collected included things like:

After someone invited a certain magical artifact from a certain Taoist temple to improve their Feng Shui, their illness greatly improved;

After someone changed their name to supplement their Five Elements, not only did their three highs alleviate, but their spirit also greatly relaxed;

Lin Yuan doesn’t deny the positive effect of Feng Shui and other factors on a person’s spiritual level, but collecting such data is visibly difficult.

Because science and engineering emphasize rigor, how do you prove that someone’s spiritual relaxation is due to following Feng Shui? This thing simply cannot be quantified, and the first element of AI training is the collection of sample data, and it needs to be sample data that has been digitally quantified.

Therefore, the sample data for the influence of Feng Shui and other factors on people simply cannot be collected.

The sample data that AI can recognize is: after someone changed their name to supplement a certain Five Elements vector, they gained how many percentage points of mood improvement.

That’s right. Not only does the change in mindset need to be digitized, but even the Five Elements changes need to be vectorized.

If he really wanted to force it.

Lin Yuan felt that first, he should at least come up with a concept of a Five Elements vector.

For example: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, represented by a 1x5 vector as: [a1, a2, a3, a4, a5].

Each character ’a’ represents the Five Elements components in a person’s fate.

Similarly, when describing things with the book of changes, it is also necessary to quantify as much as possible first.

A 1x8 vector can be used to describe the concept of a trigram position.

Only in this way can AI understand the data.

But Professor Zhou Shuiyi, this charlatan, didn’t do that. He just wrote an AI-related paper, then said he used the book of changes and Feng Shui elements, and then there was nothing more.

It was as if a chef cooked a table of Western food, then placed a few Chinese cookbook recipes next to the table. Then the chef said he incorporated Chinese cooking methods into the Western food, but you couldn’t see where the so-called incorporation of Chinese cuisine was reflected at all.

Lin Yuan rested his chin on his hand, pondering, if he were to write a paper on this topic.

For example, let’s talk about: The role of Feng Shui elements in food delivery algorithms.

Then he would at least have to consider the historical and cultural factors of Zijin City, and then climate, transportation, geopolitics, politics, economics, and other factors, none of them could be missing. Because people are, after all, economic animals, and the economy is affected by all factors in the world.

Lin Yuan would definitely look for the shadow of Feng Shui among these factors that affect economic development.

’Wouldn’t that just force it?’

Force it?

Huh?

A bright lightning bolt suddenly flashed across Lin Yuan’s mind, illuminating the night sky.

’Am I not currently racking my brains over how to force the algorithm?’

The core part of the algorithm was concocted by the system, Lin Yuan understood it, but he couldn’t justify or reproduce the entire derivation process.

He could fool Good Group, but he couldn’t fool his advisor.

Lin Yuan could roughly guess the process by which the computing power system implemented the food delivery algorithm: it must have fully extracted the merchant’s surveillance footage and the delivery riders’s delivery data, thereby obtaining abstract models of each merchant and delivery riders.

Lin Yuan had also thought of asking the system to provide a reasonable derivation process along this technical route. However, network surveillance footage involves merchant privacy. If this were to be made public, regardless of whether the derivation process could be justified, Lin Yuan himself would first have to go in and “step on the sewing machine” (a euphemism for being imprisoned).

Therefore, Lin Yuan could not derive it according to the normal technical route.

And it was precisely because of this troubling matter that Lin Yuan, who was frowning, unexpectedly discovered the factor of ”Feng Shui” due to Xia Ye’s unintentional silly act.

AI training is inherently about finding answers, and is even called ”computer fortune-telling” by many industry insiders.

This is not groundless, but from a principle level, AI pretty much does exactly that.

Since it’s all about fortune-telling, it’s not out of line to mix in some Feng Shui elements.

Alright, the next step is to make the system force out a set of reasonable algorithm derivation processes along the discourse system of the book of changes and Feng Shui.

[System, try to understand this wooden piece from the perspective of 3 binary bits.]

The system quickly marked the binary numbers corresponding to each trigram floating in the air on the eight trigram positions.

Kun Trigram: 000.

Zhen Trigram: 001.

Kan Trigram: 010.

Dui Trigram: 011.

Gen Trigram: 100.

Li Trigram: 101.

Xun Trigram: 110.

Qian Trigram: 111.

The system still followed Lin Yuan’s previous understanding of it. If Lin Yuan hadn’t guided it to try to interpret the book of changes from a binary perspective, the system would remain clueless no matter how many times it looked at the book of changes diagrams.

[System, I hope you can understand. You and I, what we both need most right now is to hide ourselves.]

[Due to my carelessness in using the cheat for the first time, I now need to embed the algorithm’s derivation process into the Feng Shui model.]

[I hope you don’t think I’m slacking off, and please don’t crash on me again.]

Lin Yuan tried to load an introductory video on the book of changes into the system. Fortunately, this time the system was quite understanding, perhaps realizing Lin Yuan’s predicament, and finally didn’t cause any more trouble.

And what Lin Yuan had to do next was to help the system find a large amount of information related to the book of changes, the book of changes, and Feng Shui.

He had no interest or energy to understand this knowledge. Even if he did understand it, forcing the information of Purple Gold City merchants and delivery riderss into the discourse system of Feng Shui would be a very complex matter.

This was clearly not something that could be accomplished by individual human effort.

This kind of thing could only be left to the computing power system.

After all this was done, Lin Yuan could finally lie down on the bed.

Who would have thought that Xia Ye’s deception would lead to a series of butterfly effects?

Lin Yuan didn’t dare to imagine his advisor’s reaction after hearing his bizarre idea, ’Will he scold me for betraying my teacher and ancestors?’

Isn’t this like holding a modern fan meeting in a place where traditional crosstalk is performed?

Fortunately, there was still Professor Zhou Shuiyi, that charlatan, who could be a shield.

He was, after all, a legitimate professor at a legitimate university. Lin Yuan even specifically checked his information on the Xia Bei University official website, and he was indeed a real person.

This way, Lin Yuan could force his actions to be: inspired by an industry senior.

’I wonder what the background of this charlatan is.’

From the limited information Lin Yuan found on Tieba, this guy clearly had a powerful background. It made sense; who would believe that someone so reckless could be a professor without some backing? As for why he could be a professor despite being so reckless, this is the internet age.

Lin Yuan was already used to it.

For example: a well-known professor of Japanese history at a certain university in Shanghai went to a certain website to teach a course, made basic mistakes repeatedly, and was criticized until he left the internet.

As for the art departments of various famous universities, they are even more severely affected.

So you think there are no such situations in science and engineering departments? Naive!

If you pay attention, you’ll find that this internet age is never short of genuinely strange things happening.

Moreover, Professor Zhou Shuiyi is very low-key. If Lin Yuan hadn’t retrieved his paper, he wouldn’t have known such a person existed.
