Algorithm system

Uncoverable talentDean Li said innocently, ”Lin Yuan was clearly talking to you just now. He was asking if he should share some with you. Isn’t it good for your student to show filial respect to you? Why are you talking about me?”

Professor Zhang pulled over a chair and sat down, ”He was too embarrassed to ask you directly, so he turned to me instead. I brought this up with him a long time ago, and he never asked me if he should share any with me. Look, as soon as you stepped in, even that naive young man thought of this. Really, what kind of image are you all projecting now?”

Dean Li was too lazy to refute, because he really didn’t know what to say, so he just changed the subject, ”If this works out, the position of full dean is a sure thing. Tell me, do I have a chance at vice-chancellor?”

”Yes, yes, yes, I wish you will achieve the boasts you made when you were studying sooner or later.”

”I’m serious with you.”

”Serious? Don’t mess with Lin Yuan’s spot. Don’t tell me later that ’someone pulled some strings’.”

”Don’t worry, this time, no matter who pulls strings, it’s useless.”

”It’s getting late, let’s go back. Still riding in your car.”

”Old Zhang, I forgot to tell you something. That Gu Xuan you took in, the kid who was first in the overall professional score, might not be simple.”

”How is he not simple?”

”He graduated from the Department of Mathematics at Zijin University and came to us, so I had to pay attention. I asked someone to inquire, and his teacher’s comment about him was: ’He’s not cut out for research at all.’”

Professor Zhang examined him, ”For a teacher to use such a comment to evaluate his own student, then he has a big problem. No wonder he left Zijin University, but I’ve already accepted him, I can’t just kick him out because of this. A few days ago, he even asked me to help him get a project that’s good for publishing papers, so it seems this kid just wants to go for papers.”

”Now you’re in a dilemma, aren’t you? That’s why I often tell you, do things according to the rules, at least you won’t make mistakes. You could have just humored him first, then understood him, and then decided whether to take him. How could you just see he was from Zijin’s Mathematics Department, chat with him, think he was good, and agree to take him on the spot?”

Professor Zhang was unconcerned, ”Taking students is like venture capital. If you’re late, the good ones will be snatched up. Didn’t I get a good prospect like Lin Yuan? And you don’t understand the satisfaction of being a talent scout.”

”Only you understand! You’d better be careful, lest that kid Gu Xuan pull some trick like ghostwriting papers for you.”

”I’m already so old, am I still afraid of this? As the young people say, ’You have to finish the path you chose, even if you have to crawl.’ As long as Gu Xuan doesn’t make a big mistake, I’m still willing to give him some face.”

”Just don’t ruin your reputation in your later years.”

”Stop worrying about that and keep an eye out for a suitable partner for Lin Yuan. I heard him say he’s dating a girl from our school’s art department. Young men his age are full of vigor, I’m afraid he’ll fall for her tricks.”

”You, his master, are even worrying about this for him?”

”Who hasn’t been young? When I see it, I always have to give him a few pointers.”

As for Lin Yuan, after bidding farewell to his mentor, he jogged all the way to the Pan Si Dong (he went to find Xia Ye after leaving).

The two ate some supper and then found a dimly lit corner to hug for a while. After going through the common steps for newly acquainted couples, Lin Yuan sent Xia Ye back to her place.

After being covered in her scent, Lin Yuan’s stomach was full, and he even exercised while walking around on a date. So, as long as the woman cooperates, dating actually doesn’t take much time.

Afterward, Lin Yuan returned to the dormitory. After receiving double approval from his mentor and Dean Li, he was going to brazenly fleece the enemy country.

”Just set up the mining mini-program, we won’t boast about anything else,” Lin Yuan couldn’t help but hum a self-composed tune on his way back, ”This bitcoin, Ethereum, it just flows and flows, flowing into my little pocket. The small fan, it blows and blows. No one will urge for the electricity bill. The numbers on the account are soaring, I’ll exchange them for money to spend. To honor my parents, and I can buy a new house for Xia Ye and me...”

Lin Yuan specifically wrote a program for this, a mini-program to control mining.

He completely put himself in the perspective of a rat, a cautious, sneaky rat that steals free computing power resources.

He imagined the OCR organization as a righteous organization, and himself as a greedy, despicable villain.

So, what would such a villain do?

He would definitely want to secretly steal computing power from OCR’s computing power resources, so he would naturally try every possible way to disguise his mining activities.

Lin Yuan would not be stupid enough to download a mining software from the internet and then mindlessly double-click the .exe file to start mining. That would be too obvious a hook. If OCR didn’t even care about that, it would be like writing ”There’s something wrong with this organization” on their face.

Therefore, Lin Yuan had to quietly steal, so that OCR could pretend not to see.

At the same time, this was also a process for Lin Yuan to demonstrate his personal strength to OCR. Otherwise, if the spy was too stupid, the other party probably wouldn’t want to develop him.

So Lin Yuan downloaded mining programs for ten common cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, Ethereum, ETC, and dogecoin from the internet, then unpacked the programs and extracted the core mining program parts.

Subsequently, he wrote a comprehensive integration package program.

This program could flexibly switch between various cryptocurrency mining operations.

The benefits of doing this. First, it masks the sample characteristics of those common mining programs.

These programs are like game cheats; the more they are used, the more they naturally get special attention from various security software. Their own software sample characteristics have long been collected by the virus databases of various security software. Directly using them is asking for trouble.

Second, because the H100 GPU has too much video memory, the two cards Lin Yuan got were the 80G version. It was so satisfying, enough for him to load the ledger data of all ten cryptocurrencies.

Then he could let the GPU switch back and forth between different cryptocurrencies for mining, so that he wouldn’t constantly communicate frequently with a certain type of cryptocurrency node for a long time, attracting attention.

After doing all this, Lin Yuan suddenly realized - how did I become so self-taught at doing these things? Do I actually have this kind of talent?

Of course, everything Lin Yuan did could not hide the fact that he was mining. Mining is something that, as long as you do it, you can’t escape detection.

But Lin Yuan was originally playing the role of a rat; he just wanted OCR to see him secretly stealing in a concealed manner.

To make such a move more realistic, Lin Yuan specifically embedded the mining program into a normal AI model training. The main idea was that 90% of the time was normal training, and 10% of the time was interspersed with mining. It was like mixing a little flour into a large vat of white rice.

’My talent, it can’t be hidden. Why is my mind so sharp when doing these kinds of things? The system never guided me on such matters.’ Lin Yuan couldn’t even blame the system for this.

According to the program settings, the 10% mining time ratio was not continuous but randomly interspersed. It was like mixing rice and flour together.

Lin Yuan planned to be conservative at first, then gradually increase the proportion. In order to pretend that his thieving intentions were growing.

Lin Yuan suddenly felt a little scared, because he had just briefly broadened his thinking and considered how to get rich through mining. For example: combining viruses and mining programs.

He found that he had immediately thought of several ways that could lead him to prison.

’It’s too terrifying, I... I’m I accidentally awakening my destined sequence?’

Fortunately, Lin Yuan was a righteous good person.

’I seem to be a born excellent warrior on the clandestine front.’
