Algorithm system

I’ll deliver takeout to support you.Lin Yuan had a lot to say about the delivery riderss.

If one only looked at their income, it seemed they weren’t that miserable.

Especially for delivery riderss who specialize in deliveries, when their monthly volume reaches a certain threshold, for example, over 1000 orders, the unit price for all orders will increase by one tier. The higher the accumulated monthly volume, the higher the unit price per order.

For a full-time dedicated delivery riders, completing 40 orders a day isn’t too stressful. Therefore, in places like Zijin City, if one works ten hours a day, earning over 8000 a month isn’t too difficult.

However, that 8000 is before deductions for pension, medical insurance, and housing provident fund.

delivery riderss don’t have a company that bears a proportional part of the two most crucial insurances and one fund; they have to pay it all themselves as flexibly employed individuals.

These three things would cut about 1500 from their income, leaving only around 6500 actually in hand from the 8000.

To earn this income, delivery riderss cannot slack off for a moment, because food delivery is piece-rate work. But in today’s society, jobs where one absolutely cannot slack off are already rare.

Also, whether it’s the dead of winter or scorching summer, if they want a continuous income, they have to keep working outside.

Additionally, they occasionally encounter some difficult and unpleasant customers.

Finally, they might also encounter a vampire station manager like Liu Huzi.

The most unlucky part is that this line of work offers no growth. Neither work skills nor industry experience offer any growth.

In short, only factory workers on assembly lines can compare with them.

Therefore, Lin Yuan’s concern for this field was easily perceived as him being a troublemaker who cared about social issues. And such troublemakers naturally fit the appetite of NGO-like organizations.

Anyway, these NGO-like organizations don’t care about the deep-seated reasons for problems; their fundamental goal is to seize upon superficial phenomena, make a fuss, and use the opportunity to tear society apart.

To further stimulate the other party’s sensitive nerves, Lin Yuan deliberately halved the most crucial part of the delivery riders data he was going to submit to them—the income data.

He figured this should appeal to their taste.

However, this meant that when he subsequently ran AI training, he would also need to halve the income portion of the sample data, otherwise, wouldn’t the data be inconsistent, exposing his deception?

Fortunately, this operation of halving the training data would not affect AI training, because it was a linear operation on the data.

Any linear data transformation can be adapted by AI.

But there was a cost, which was that the beta version of the algorithm Lin Yuan had already trained became useless. This was because the data used for training this beta version was the original, untransformed data.

However, as long as he could get high-computing power equipment for free from OCR, the loss of this small amount of work progress was not significant.

Lin Yuan downloaded the data submission tool via the cloud drive link sent by the other party on WeChat. A identity verification link was also sent along with it.

This was reasonable; it was impossible for them not to verify Lin Yuan’s student identity when applying for high-computing power equipment. After carefully checking the link, Lin Yuan found that this identity verification link was hosted under OCR’s official website domain. So, there was no problem with that.

Because OCR outwardly was a legitimate organization, although Lin Yuan knew they had issues, he just had to pretend not to know. The law speaks of evidence, and it was enough for OCR to be legal from a legal standpoint.

Since Lin Yuan had not yet officially enrolled, he had to submit his admission notice as proof. Along with it, he naturally submitted a photo of his ID card.

Lin Yuan wasn’t flustered by this at all. This branch of OCR was registered in HK, and HK is on my Dragon Country’s land. I’m not messing around with overseas organizations.

After submitting his personal identity materials, it was time for data submission.

’Uh...’ Lin Yuan saw something about RSA2 after looking at the data submission tool downloaded from the cloud drive, and he also found a public key in the folder of the submission executable program.

Unexpected, but within reason. The data submission was encrypted.

Just as WeChat and Alipay use encryption when dealing with financially sensitive data, OCR also used encryption when asking Lin Yuan to submit verification data.

A meaningful smile immediately appeared on Lin Yuan’s face, ’This can’t be their path dependence, can it?’

It is well known, and I believe any student who has worked in a company for a while should know this. An organization always emphasizes work processes, and the first priority of a work process is: simple process.

Even as a delivery riders at Haotuan Waimai, there was at least a seemingly standardized training process.

Lin Yuan couldn’t help but wonder: Could it be that OCR handles too much sensitive data, and out of habit, they established a procedure requiring sample data submission to be encrypted?

’This is food delivery data, not some helicopter blueprint designed by my school.’

However, the more they acted this way, the more hope Lin Yuan saw for successful free access.

—

After submitting the data, it was still very early, not even nine o’clock.

Lin Yuan leisurely went to the cafeteria for breakfast, then rode his electric scooter, planning to go to the subway station to take the subway to the company and show his face.

Since Lin Yuan had obtained permission for on-site testing, he frequently didn’t go to the company, and his direct supervisor completely let him do as he pleased. Lin Yuan could probably guess some of the reasons.

Firstly, Lin Yuan’s application was for the function of going out for on-site testing. Secondly, because Lin Yuan was just an intern, in the eyes of many of his colleagues, he was just a connected individual who got in through his mentor, so everyone just let him be.

Therefore, if Lin Yuan were to loudly announce at the company right now: I am trying to iterate our company’s core food delivery algorithm. Hmm~~, presumably no one would believe him.

While waiting for OCR to review, since he was idle anyway, Lin Yuan went to the company to feel his presence.

Xia Ye had sent Lin Yuan a photo of herself rushing to the subway early in the morning, around seven o’clock. In the photo, Zijin City’s subway was bustling with people, with the figures of office workers everywhere.

Around ten in the morning, Xia Ye took advantage of a break from teaching to chat a few more sentences with Lin Yuan. Her voice message to Lin Yuan also contained a lot of noisy background sounds of children; just listening to it, one could feel the demanding nature of her work.

But Xia Ye didn’t have time to complain about whether work was tiring or not, because summer vacation was about to end soon.

Lin Yuan was in a hurry to get the first draft of the algorithm out, while Xia Ye was anxious that the children were going back to school, and she would soon lose even the chance to work hard.

”The agency here said that after the official start of school, I’ll only be able to get stable part-time work on weekends. Whether evening classes can be held during weekdays will depend on the situation later.”

”I haven’t thought of a way to earn more money, and my income is already going to be cut... I almost want to cry.”

Lin Yuan read it and found it a bit amusing.

Because this girl was always like this; it was obvious that the tutoring agency’s business would become slow after summer vacation, yet she only realized it when it was already upon her.

However, this was also what made Xia Ye adorable.

Lin Yuan rubbed his temples, looking at the tearful expression Xia Ye sent, and couldn’t help but want to laugh again.

”It’s okay, I’ll deliver food to support you.”

”Really?”

”Mm-hmm.”

”It’s so good to have a boyfriend?”

Boyfriend? Lin Yuan sat up straight with a whoosh. When did he become her boyfriend?
