Algorithm system

Successfully collected merchant dataSince the computing system can accept unprocessed data, it means that as long as there is data, the form of the data is not important.

Therefore, Lin Yuan realized: It seems that he still cannot rely on merely specifying an address and expecting the system to automatically retrieve the data of the merchants at that location. This process is indeed a bit mysterious; essentially, it relies on the system having an all-seeing eye.

Lin Yuan then thought of a method. He immediately pulled out his phone, aimed it at the breakfast shop he had just visited, and opened the camera.

Before long, a video of about one minute was loaded from his phone into the system.

The system quickly provided the average time it took the merchant to pack a breakfast from this video.

’Damn, it really can extract information from video data.’

Lin Yuan then turned and went back to that breakfast shop.

”Young man, did you forget something?”

”No, give me another bowl of soy milk. I’m a bit thirsty.”

Taking the opportunity to sit down and drink soy milk, Lin Yuan finally understood—damn it, this breakfast shop probably had no cameras inside because it was a small business.

Soon, Lin Yuan had a bold idea.

He left the half-finished bowl of soy milk and walked quickly along the street. He would stick his head into every restaurant he passed.

However, only breakfast shops were open early in the morning.

Finally, he found a breakfast shop that had a camera installed.

Lin Yuan ordered two steamed buns and a cup of soy milk again and sat down.

”System, can you automatically get data from this camera?”

”Don’t tell me you can’t. You’re a system, after all.”

Lin Yuan suddenly felt a dizzy spell, but fortunately, it lasted for an extremely short time.

After recovering, the system finally gave a prompt.

”New rule discovered.”

New rule? Just as Lin Yuan was confused, the system prompted again.

”New rule -- acquire designated types of data through monitoring equipment.”

Lin Yuan’s hypothesis was finally confirmed. A red halo appeared around the camera in his sight.

”Can you change it to the ’F’ key for me?” Lin Yuan was still used to the ’F’ key icon as a guide.

The system cooperated for once. The red halo on the camera was replaced by a floating ’F’ key icon.

Lin Yuan made a gesture in the air, simulating pressing the ’F’ key.

”This monitoring device is not connected to the internet!”

Lin Yuan was stunned for a moment, and then... ”Shit! You’re a system, after all. Can you stop adhering to scientific principles from beginning to end?”

”You need to be connected to the internet to get camera data?”

Lin Yuan was really unlucky. The camera he found was one that only cached data locally and was not connected to the external network.

Lin Yuan had no choice but to switch to another breakfast shop. He felt like he wouldn’t need to eat lunch.

”After all this, you can still only play hacker tricks. You are the lowest system I have ever seen.”

”Monitoring device connected successfully!”

Lin Yuan left the third breakfast shop with a burp. He finally figured out the system’s routine for establishing data pathways.

Simply put, from the system’s perspective, apples will still fall from trees; don’t expect them to fly into the sky. The system’s consistent characteristic remains within the realm of scientific principles.

There’s no need to say more about what happened next. Lin Yuan finally shamelessly stood at the entrance of each shop, or through the still-closed glass doors, to calibrate each camera for the system.

A small number of shops either had no cameras, or the cameras were installed too secretly to be found, or the cameras were simply not connected to the internet. But these did not significantly affect the overall situation. Data collection only needed to complete the majority of the collection.

As long as the cameras of the vast majority of shops in this area were calibrated, Lin Yuan could then act as a hands-off manager, letting the system automatically collect merchant data.

This was Lin Yuan’s second realization—the importance of direction.

—

In half a day, Lin Yuan rode his electric scooter and scanned several streets.

A thought suddenly popped into his head again.

Since the system can get video data from the cameras after I calibrate them, does that mean I can see the footage from these cameras? Hehe!

However, Lin Yuan quickly remembered his experience of being forcibly disconnected by the system for two hours when he tried to use it for mining. So, he decided against it. He learned his lesson this time and dared not try to mess with anything obviously improper through the system again.

Therefore, the video data from those cameras would only be collected by the system and not seen by Lin Yuan.

As noon approached, the weather grew hotter and hotter. The road was becoming unbearable.

Lin Yuan looked at the road surface, which appeared somewhat distorted from the heat, and he remembered his days of delivering food.

After a comparison, he felt a bit dazed. For a few moments, he wondered if he should find a way to improve the daily lives of the food delivery delivery riderss. He looked at his still somewhat tanned arms; delivering food was indeed very hard work.

If he hadn’t obtained the system, he probably wouldn’t have been able to get into Zijin Aviation School, after all, who else could guide him in his studies as meticulously as the system?

Lin Yuan felt that among the food delivery delivery riderss, there must be many lazy people who are reluctant to use their brains, but there must also be many unfortunate souls like his former self, who lacked guidance.

As he was pondering, a food delivery electric scooter suddenly sped through a red light in his line of sight.

Lin Yuan knew very well why so many food delivery delivery riderss did not obey traffic rules.

The platform’s order dispatch and delivery mechanism was one reason, and another reason was the vicious competition among food delivery delivery riderss. Even if you don’t run a red light, you can’t stop others from running red lights. If others run a few red lights along the way, won’t they be faster than you?

Lin Yuan did not want to constantly blame the food delivery platforms for their wrongdoings, as some people criticized. Now, with his engineering background, he was accustomed to thinking about the reasons behind things.

To solve this problem, mere publicity and education are certainly not enough, and relying on arrests and penalties is naturally not feasible, because you cannot penalize all food delivery delivery riderss who run red lights. Moreover, they earn hard-earned money, so how can you penalize them?

Therefore, the only way is to impose restrictions through the food delivery platform’s algorithm.

As long as the algorithm can detect the vast majority of food delivery delivery riderss running red lights, it can curb this unfair competition.

This is the power of technology; using technology well makes the world a better place.

However, Lin Yuan first needed to focus on solving the immediate problems. He first had to make himself ”successful” before he would have the capacity to ”help others.”

A method for collecting merchant data had been found; all that remained was to spend time scanning the streets. So, the next step was to collect delivery riders data.

Lin Yuan had met many fellow delivery riderss when he used to deliver food, so he could talk to them. This would also allow him to test the ”delivery riders data collection plan” that had already taken shape in his mind.
