After saying that, he turned his head and chatted with Lin Xiran for a moment, then left directly.

Zhang Jingdong thought to himself that this girl really knew what’s up; those gifts just now were not in vain.

Thinking that he must go to Yan Ning’s home at 8 o’clock tonight, he must make good use of the time, so he turned to Lin Xiran and said, ”My dear, since it’s like this, let’s just eat at your cafeteria. After eating, we can watch the sunset together for a while.”

Lin Xiran originally felt somewhat lacking in shared campus memories with Zhang Jingdong since they were from different schools.

So, when she heard this, her face immediately lit up with sweetness and she said, ”Okay, let’s go!”

East River Art College, because it has fewer than ten thousand students and is split into two campuses, only has one big cafeteria.

Now, it was almost 6 p.m., the peak dining hour, and as soon as the two appeared on the second floor of the cafeteria, it caused another commotion.

Especially when everyone saw Zhang Jingdong, acting like a lord, casually picking a window seat to sit down and Lin Xiran happily getting food for him, and it was definitely with her own meal card, too.

Many boys just collapsed!

Is there no justice in this world?

It was bad enough that he managed to date the campus beauty, but damn, he was even freeloading! Why, why is this happening?

Of course, Zhang Jingdong caught the resentful looks in those boys’ eyes, so he enjoyed two portions of dishes and three baskets of xiaolongbao with that resentment.

After eating and drinking to his fill, he nonchalantly put his arm around Lin Xiran’s shoulders as they walked downstairs, infuriating those boys from the art college to the point their noses were almost crooked.

By this time, it was just after 7 p.m., and the sun hadn’t quite set.

The two strolled through the campus, passing by the library, the basketball court, the small sports field, the tennis court, and finally arrived at the small garden.

With happiness on her face, Lin Xiran leaned into Zhang Jingdong’s arms and said sweetly, ”Today has been wonderful. Not only did I complete the performance report smoothly, but I also get to walk around the campus with you. Honestly, Jingdong, I’ve only dreamt of this scene before.”

Zhang Jingdong, with affection, said, ”Since you like it, I’ll accompany you like this once every week from now on.”

”Really...” Lin Xiran’s face lit up with surprise: ”That’s a promise, no backing out!”

Zhang Jingdong laughed out loud: ”If a man goes back on his word to his woman, how can he conquer the world? Don’t worry, I always keep my promises!”

Lin Xiran spontaneously gave Zhang Jingdong a kiss: ”Dear, you’re so wonderful!”

Zhang Jingdong gazed at Lin Xiran’s smiling face for a long time, once again deeply feeling the beauty of campus love.

After a while, seeing the sun halfway set, Zhang Jingdong looked at the rooftop of the teaching building and asked casually, ”Can you get onto the rooftop of this teaching building?”

Lin Xiran also looked and hesitated, ”Seems like you can’t; I haven’t heard of anyone going up there before.”

Zhang Jingdong lifted his chin slightly: ”Wanna try going up there for a bit of an experience?”

Seeing Zhang Jingdong’s enthusiasm, Lin Xiran nodded immediately: ”Mm.”

”Let’s go!”

Zhang Jingdong took Lin Xiran straight to the teaching building.

Having worked as a construction supervisor in his previous life, Zhang Jingdong had dealt with several university teaching building projects, so he was very familiar with the internal structure of such buildings.

After reaching the top floor, he confidently led Lin Xiran to the location of the patio.

However, a metal grille had been set up outside the patio, which was probably also the reason why no one had been on the rooftop before.

Lin Xiran was initially amazed that Zhang Jingdong could find the patio so easily, but seeing that the metal grill was locked, a flash of helplessness crossed her eyes.

Just as she was about to persuade Zhang Jingdong to give up, she saw him effortlessly take out a bunch of keys from his pocket and skilfully make a key hook.

Zhang Jingdong stepped forward, fiddled with the padlock on the chain for a while, and then with a ”clack,” the lock actually opened!

Lin Xiran immediately wore a face full of admiration: ”My dear, you’re really amazing, I truly admire you so much!”

”Congratulations to the Host for earning the target character’s admiration, reward of 200,000 yuan!”

Zhang Jingdong got rid of the chain and then gently pushed open the iron fence.

”Let’s go!”

Lin Xiran immediately followed Zhang Jingdong with an excited face to the bottom of the patio, and then both climbed to the rooftop one after another.

Although the teaching building only had 10 floors, it was nearly the tallest building within miles, so standing on top gives a sense of overlooking from a high place.

Moreover, in the afterglow of the setting sun, all the scenery within view took on a desolate beauty, transient yet utterly captivating.

The two of them stood, hand in hand, gazing at everything before them for a long while, each filled with an indescribable excitement and admiration.

There’s a saying in the future that goes, ”When you encounter real delicacies, you can’t speak, because your mouth simply has no time to talk, and when you encounter truly beautiful scenery, you also can’t speak, because you have no idea what grand words would do justice to the magnificent view before you.”

At this moment, Zhang Jingdong and Lin Xiran were just like that, completely immersed in the beauty.

After a while, the sun finally set completely, but it wasn’t entirely dark yet.

At this time, Zhang Jingdong took Lin Xiran’s hand and made an inviting gesture.

Lin Xiran instantly understood and then began to dance with him.

The two were entirely improvising.

But not only did Lin Xiran master folk dance, but she also practiced jazz and ballet as a child, whereas Zhang Jingdong was entirely possessed by Michael Jackson.

Furthermore, the two had collaborated on a dance in the riverside park before, and due to their interactions over this period, they increasingly understood each other’s hearts.

So, their collaboration was not only perfectly in sync, but every move was extremely harmonious.

Additionally, if one was to add background music for the two, it should be ”Saddle of my heart.”

Finally, when night completely fell, the two stopped dancing, embraced each other tightly, and afterward began an intense and profound kiss.

Under the dark sky atop the high-rise, the figures of the two defined what love was.

They kissed for nearly twenty minutes before finally leaving the rooftop and returning to the top floor through the patio.

Zhang Jingdong swiftly locked the iron fence, then pulled Lin Xirui and ran away from the scene.

At this time, both felt an exceptional thrill and excitement.

Back in the corridor, the two slowed their pace and began to walk normally.

Zhang Jingdong walked while observing the classrooms on the top floor, and when he found almost no one around, he took Lin Xirui to the women’s bathroom.

They found a spot by the window, went inside, and locked the door from the inside.

Zhang Jingdong kissed Lin Xiran’s pretty face, then took out his beloved Desert Eagle.

Lin Xiran’s face flushed, then she started to earnestly repair it.

About ten minutes later, the image of Lin Xiran radiating brilliance on the stage that afternoon involuntarily surfaced in Zhang Jingdong’s mind.

Seeing her now so dedicated to fixing his Desert Eagle, he couldn’t help but give her a little reward.

”Congratulations to the Host for completing a creative contact with the target character, reward of 1,000,000 yuan!”
