Especially now, when she saw the joy in Zhang Jingdong’s eyes, her heart filled with even more happiness. She walked right up to him and turned around, ”How does it look, good?”

At this moment, Zhang Jingdong finally came back to his senses, nodding naturally: ”It looks good. You must be the most beautiful bride in all of Jiangdu today!”

Hearing this, Chen Lu’s heart blossomed with joy, and she couldn’t help but lean in and kiss Zhang Jingdong.

Then Chen Lu tried on two more sets and finally decided on the model.

At this point, the beautiful saleswoman remembered what was mentioned earlier, so she seemingly casually said: ”This set is exactly the same model as that diamond series over there, if this one fits you well, that one should also be very suitable.”

Chen Lu was just about to wave her hand to refuse when suddenly, a voice came from not far away: ”You are... Chen Lu, right?”

Chen Lu turned her head to look at the other person and hesitantly said: ”You are... Shen Jiali?”

”Yes! Tsk, tsk, ever since graduating from college and going to the United Kingdom for further study, we haven’t seen each other at all.”

”I went to the reunion last year, but you didn’t go. I didn’t expect to run into you here today!”

”It’s really unexpected that you’re also getting married. At the reunion last year, I heard you were still single. It hasn’t even been a year, and you’re already getting married. It seems that as you age, you finally became anxious!”

Shen Jiali kept talking to herself. Although Chen Lu tried to keep a polite smile on her face, her heart was gradually becoming unhappy.

Not only because Shen Jiali was bringing up uncomfortable subjects, but also because during their university years, their relationship was actually quite ordinary, and they even had a serious argument in their second year, which led to Shen Jiali even having some thugs from outside the school threaten Chen Lu.

Back then, Chen Lu, with her beauty and talent, was rightfully the most admired girl in the faculty, while Shen Jiali, having driven a Beetle from the start of school, became known in the faculty as the rich girl.

Although her looks were also decent, scoring perhaps seventy or eighty points, she was visibly inferior compared to Chen Lu.

Thus, her presence in the faculty was always firmly overshadowed by Chen Lu.

Shen Jiali, having been brought up in a wealthy family, always had an arrogant and domineering personality. Although she didn’t say much to Chen Lu’s face, she was always filled with jealousy.

The argument they had later arose because in their second year, Shen Jiali fell for a freshman.

Not only was he handsome, but he was also an athlete, a swimmer with a six-pack.

Shen Jiali chased him crazily for more than two months, spending a lot of money on him and even learning to knit a scarf for him.

But just when she thought she was about to win him over and was full of hope as she confessed her feelings, he suddenly told her that he had fallen for someone else.

Shen Jiali couldn’t accept it and kept asking who he had fallen for, and eventually, he mentioned Chen Lu’s name.

But in reality, he was the one chasing Chen Lu, and she had repeatedly refused his advances, but he still didn’t give up.

As a result, due to her heartbreak and previous jealousy towards Chen Lu, Shen Jiali went to Chen Lu’s dorm that night, accusing her of being shameless for stealing her boyfriend.

Chen Lu felt it was absurd but still tried to explain, yet Shen Jiali wasn’t appeased and ended up threatening that it wasn’t over.

The next day, she actually brought some thugs from outside to intimidate Chen Lu.

Fortunately, Chen Lu’s roommate promptly called the campus security, otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

After that, their relationship became extremely strained.

But in their senior year, Shen Jiali, for some unknown reason, suddenly changed her behavior, not only approaching Chen Lu to apologize but also trying to get close to her at every opportunity.

Although Chen Lu was naturally kind-hearted, it didn’t mean she was foolish; she could tell that Shen Jiali wasn’t genuinely wanting to be friends.

In fact, Shen Jiali did have ulterior motives; she had realized that to destroy someone, she must first become friends with them.

Only by becoming friends could she understand Chen Lu better, know her weaknesses, and finally hit her where it hurt.

But at that time, she could tell that although Chen Lu agreed to be friends, Chen Lu was clearly guarded around her, so she didn’t make a move.

Even after graduation, though Shen Jiali never met Chen Lu face-to-face, she kept up to date on Chen Lu’s situation through events like reunions or some classmates working in Jiangdu.

Until today, her understanding of Chen Lu was that she didn’t have a boyfriend yet and was working as a salesperson at a real estate office.

So, after returning to the country, Shen Jiali had been looking for a chance to stage an encounter with Chen Lu and then thoroughly humiliate her.

Earlier, Shen Jiali originally planned to go directly to Chen Lu’s sales office, then show off by buying a property there and take the opportunity to humiliate her.

But after learning about the prices of the Jinghu No.1 villas, she gave up.

Although she was determined to ask her family and fiancé for money, which would be enough to afford it, if it was just for revenge against Chen Lu, she felt it was somewhat not worth it.

Yet, unexpectedly, she ran into her at this bridal shop today, which truly felt like divine intervention!

Even though she was slightly surprised that Chen Lu was getting married, what excited Shen Jiali was that she now had the chance to truly embarrass Chen Lu.
