Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 96: Chapter 92 Who is taking advantage of whom! (Large Chapter, please subscribe)_2

After much deliberation and hesitation, they still decided to choose the latter.

After all, offending the latter would at most result in a few scoldings, but if they offended the former, not only would they fail to receive the balance payment, but they could also very likely lose their jobs.

Even so, they’ll still have to come up with a righteous-sounding reason to eliminate Xiao Fei in a moment, and for this, the three of them felt as desperately clueless as if they had struggled through the night ten times over, finding not a single reason.

Because when eliminating other contestants before, the general reasons were insufficient singing skills, poor rhythm in performance, you were too nervous just now, the overall pitch was not quite right...

But these clearly didn’t apply to Xiao Fei because she didn’t have any of these issues.

Ah, being a judge is just too damn hard!

And just then, Xiao Fei finished her song and ended her performance.

The previously somewhat noisy venue instantly quieted down, and everyone turned to look at the three judges.

After more than ten contestants in a row had failed to advance, Xiao Fei’s performance, which was on a professional level, made everyone feel that she was certain to advance smoothly.

Now everyone was expectantly waiting for all three judges to raise a ”√”, then to offer applause and cheers from the bottom of their hearts to Xiao Fei and the three judges.

Then, the first judge raised a ”√”, and the second judge raised a ”√”.

But at this moment, the third judge suddenly raised an ”X”.

Zhang Jingdong could even see the other party’s hand shaking continuously as they raised the ”X”.

A cold sneer formed in his heart: Damn, I didn’t expect the rigging to start in the preliminary round!

And instantly, the audience at the scene became restless.

”Why...”

”She sang so well, why didn’t she advance...”

Some people even shouted directly: ”Rigged... Rigged...”

At this time, the judge was forced to explain: ”I am judging from a professional perspective. The performance of this contestant was indeed moving, but her... her handling of some details in the chorus part was not very good, so I will not pass her!”

”However, I suggest she quickly fix these shortcomings and strive to participate in the comeback competition three days later.”

Upon hearing this, the voices of dispute in the crowd diminished somewhat.

But there were still doubts: ”Then why did you pass those who sang worse than her just now?”

”This... Our starting point for this talent show is to find some singers with potential in their raw state, to train them, and finally help them become professional singers.”

”As for those who already have some performance experience, because their habits are already set, they would not be our choice of contestants.”

”But she already said she was a student, how could she possibly have performance experience?”

”This... I have no comment!”

Seeing that the situation was getting out of control, the host quickly waved to Xiao Fei.

Xiao Fei looked at Zhang Jingdong in the audience, saw him nod, and then briskly stepped down from the stage.

The two met backstage.

Because Zhang Jingdong had already forewarned her, Xiao Fei felt a bit disappointed at being eliminated, but she still maintained a smile on her face.

Zhang Jingdong joked, ”How was it, did you enjoy singing just now?”

Xiao Fei nodded vigorously: ”Yes, it was exhilarating! It feels completely different standing on a stage like this compared to when I was at school... Thank you!”

Zhang Jingdong knew she was thanking him for the reminder he had given her, letting her be mentally prepared even if she sang well she’d still be eliminated.

He then said, ”The biggest gain this time is stage experience. Don’t worry, I will personally pave the way for you to become a professional singer.”

Just as Zhang Jingdong finished speaking, a middle-aged man with a long mane, an inverted triangle-shaped face (albeit slightly more handsome than the aforementioned geek but still not over 60 points), came walking towards them.

However, his overall aura had quite an artistic vibe, especially with a flame guitar tattoo on his arm, clearly indicating his involvement in music.

”Hello, let me introduce myself, my name is Chen Hui, I’m the music director at Xinghui Music Company.”

Chen Hui said while handing out a business card to Xiao Fei.

But then he was surprised to find that Xiao Fei, facing the initiative of this music company’s director, didn’t take the business card he handed over but instead turned her head to look at the man beside her.

Chen Hui immediately looked at the other person.

Then he saw the other person with a solemn face: ”Hello, I’m her boyfriend and also her manager, my name is Zhang Jingdong!”

Chen Hui suddenly realized, immediately stepped forward, and extended his hand towards Zhang Jingdong: ”Hello.”

Zhang Jingdong shook his hand: ”Mr. Chen, what can I do for you?”

”It’s like this...” Chen Hui glanced at Xiao Fei, then continued: ”I just saw your girlfriend’s performance on stage, I think she has great potential, so I want to sign her to our company.”

”Of course, if you’re willing, we can sign you too, and you can still be her manager.”

Zhang Jingdong kept his composure: ”Since your company wants to sign us, why don’t we just go directly to your company to talk? We could also take that opportunity to learn more about your company, what do you think?”

Chen Hui didn’t expect Zhang Jingdong to be so straightforward and immediately nodded: ”Okay, no problem, let’s go!”

The three of them left backstage and came out from the crowd.

At this moment, Chen Hui saw Zhang Jingdong heading towards the front and immediately pointed to the right: ”My car is over there...”

Zhang Jingdong naturally said: ”We also drove here, let’s meet at the school gate then.”

Saying so, he casually pointed at the nearby Lamborghini.

Chen Hui followed the direction he pointed to, glanced at it, and then was momentarily stunned.

He originally thought that both of them were quite young, and even though their temperament and attire were refined, he just assumed they came from a somewhat well-off family.

Now, seeing the Lamborghini, Chen Hui instantly understood that this person was what you’d call a super-rich second generation!

This made him dare not underestimate them anymore!

Because just from this car, two things were evident.

One is that Zhang Jingdong had fully matured; he knew what he wanted and what he intended to do.

And second, Zhang Jingdong’s family background must be extraordinary, either rich or noble, and no matter which, it was definitely the kind that he couldn’t afford to provoke.

At the same time, he also silently felt relieved.

Thank goodness he wasn’t the kind of person to deceive singers into signing a contract and then try all means to make the singers pay a hefty compensation fee. Otherwise, he definitely would be completely done for this time.

With these thoughts, he composed himself and said, ”Alright, see you in a bit.”

Five minutes later, they met at the school gate.

Then, Zhang Jingdong followed Chen Hui’s Audi A4 in his own Lamborghini, heading straight for Xinghui Music Company.

Halfway there, Xiao Fei hesitated for quite a while, and finally couldn’t help but say: ”Jingdong, you’re not really thinking of signing me with this company, are you?”

Zhang Jingdong pretended to be angry: ”How dare you call me by my name!”

Unexpectedly, Xiao Fei wasn’t scared at all, even a bit elated: ”It’s because you said you are my boyfriend, so we must play the whole act today.”

Zhang Jingdong could only sigh: ”Alright, I’ll let you benefit from this for once.”

Xiao Fei glanced at him: ”Who’s benefiting from whom, it’s clearly... forget it, let’s talk about the important matters.”

”I previously heard that some music companies are constantly recruiting new singers, and then use various methods to trick them into signing with their company.”

”But after signing the contract, they don’t really release albums for the singers; instead, they make them participate in low-level commercial performances, and some female singers are even asked to accompany clients to drinks!”

”And if the singers don’t comply with the company’s arrangements, they will sue the singers, then make the singers pay a hefty compensation fee!”

Zhang Jingdong patiently listened and then turned to look at her: ”Wow, I didn’t expect you to be so well-informed, I thought you were still completely naive about these societal matters!”

”I’m relieved that you’re cautious!”

”But we still have to sign the contract. Otherwise, you’ll also be eliminated in the upcoming revival round, and then you’ll completely lose this great opportunity to debut!”

Xiao Fei was somewhat pleased when she heard Zhang Jingdong complimenting her earlier, but after hearing the last sentence, she hesitated: ”But what if...”

At this moment, Zhang Jingdong waved his hand and said with a mysterious look: ”Trust me, there won’t be any ’what if’, you’ll see!”

Seeing Zhang Jingdong’s confident demeanor, Xiao Fei knew he wouldn’t deceive her, so she didn’t say anything more.

Half an hour later, both cars stopped in front of a standalone two-story building.

The three of them got out of the cars, and together they entered the company.
