Jingdong played on the computer for another half-hour when Si Wen finally sent a text message: ”We are done eating, you can show up now.”

Jingdong immediately turned off the computer gracefully, got up to tidy up a bit, and then left the office.

At this time, Shishi and the others were settling the bill at the counter.

Jingdong then walked over.

Si Wen suddenly exclaimed, ”Wow, you’ve been here quite a few times, and finally, we’ve caught you, the big boss!”

”Boss Zhang, considering our relationship, what discount do you think is appropriate this time?”

At this moment, Jingdong glanced at Lin Shishi and responded casually: ”Lin Shishi has the gold card I gave her, so let’s give a 70% discount this time!”

Si Wen couldn’t help but give Jingdong a thumbs up: ”As expected of the big boss, so generous!”

Then she turned to Lin Shishi, ”Shishi, since Boss Zhang said so, let’s calculate it at 30% of the price, okay?”

At this time, Lin Shishi also glanced at Jingdong and said somewhat shyly: ”But... I forgot to bring the card, let’s use the discount next time!”

Si Wen sighed, ”Boss Zhang, see? Our Shishi cares even more about the business of your restaurant than you, afraid that you’ll make a loss!”

Jingdong touched his nose, then turned to Wang Yuan and said, ”Just calculate it at 70% discount, and remember these two beauties, whenever they come in the future, with or without the card, always give a 70% discount!”

Wang Yuan immediately understood, ”Okay, boss, I’ve got it!”

She efficiently gave Lin Shishi the change.

Lin Shishi couldn’t dwell on it any longer, so she took the money, and then the three of them left the restaurant together.

Lin Shishi had initially thought that Jingdong would just see them out, but she didn’t expect him to walk with them.

She couldn’t help but say, ”You don’t need to see us off, your restaurant is so busy...”

Jingdong chuckled, ”The restaurant might be busy, but I don’t need to be there all the time. What do you think I hire other people for!”

”Besides, if the restaurant depended solely on me, the boss, working myself to death, it would have reached the end of its life!”

Lin Shishi nodded thoughtfully, ”You do have a point.”

After that conversation, they didn’t speak again, perhaps because they had a third wheel with them.

As soon as they entered the campus gate, Si Wen’s phone timely rang, and she excused herself for a club activity and left.

It was almost 7 o’clock now, and the sunset had just begun to set.

The light was soft yet stunningly beautiful, especially in such a place as a university campus, where a sense of indescribable romance quietly emerged.

Although they didn’t speak as they walked, there was a mysterious warmth in both of their hearts.

Jingdong discovered that despite flirting around recently, Lin Shishi was still the only girl who could make his heart skip a beat.

And Lin Shishi realized that during the time they didn’t see each other, Jingdong seemed to have gained presence, and even become more handsome!

Then she felt that her interactions with him were also gradually changing, but what exactly was different, she couldn’t quite pinpoint.

Anyway, she hadn’t felt this way with any other men before.

After a while, Jingdong broke the silence: ”How have you been lately?”

Lin Shishi’s face showed a rare casualness, ”Pretty good, classes during the day, library or evening self-study at night, occasionally participating in some club activities... How about you?”

Jingdong certainly couldn’t admit he had been flirting around, so he quickly said, ”Me too, classes during the day, and then nearly all my spare time on the restaurant, sometimes I feel like I am just blindly busy.”

”You blindly busy? Hardly!” Lin Shishi blinked her beautiful eyes, ”You are being proactive, truly working on the right things!”

”Our school actually has many students like you who have tried to start businesses, but as far as I know, hardly any of them have succeeded like you!”

”Although you’re busy now, by the time we all graduate and are struggling to find jobs, you might already be a big boss.”

Zhang Jingdong suddenly felt happy, ”Do you really think I’m impressive?”

Lin Shishi looked at Zhang Jingdong’s eyes, and for some reason, she suddenly felt a bit shy, yet she earnestly said, ”Yes, because you really are.”

Suddenly, Zhang Jingdong changed the topic, ”But I think if you want a perfect college life, you must experience a passionate love affair. So I’m really curious, with such good qualities like yours, why haven’t you been in a relationship?”

Lin Shishi clearly didn’t expect Zhang Jingdong to switch the topic here, and was momentarily flustered.

Previously, no boy ever had the chance or dared to ask her such a sensitive question.

Lin Shishi turned her head and glanced at the sunset, heaved a quiet sigh of relief, and then casually said, ”This... it might be because I haven’t met the right person yet.”

At that moment, Zhang Jingdong keenly stared at her, and half-jokingly said, ”Haven’t met the right one yet? Or perhaps you already have, but you’ve never thought about dating, so you didn’t dare to try?”

”Maybe... it’s a bit of both, mainly because I’ve never seriously considered it.”

Lin Shishi felt unusually anxious in her heart at this moment; she didn’t know why she ended up discussing the topic of dating with Zhang Jingdong.

She used to occasionally talk about this with Liu Siwen at most, but she never imagined that she’d end up discussing it, rather confusedly, with Zhang Jingdong.

But somehow, deep in her heart, she felt a vague sense of... thrills?

Zhang Jingdong said, ”Although I’ve never been in a relationship, I think you shouldn’t overthink this, because there’s no perfect partner in this world.”

”If you think too much and have too high expectations, you might find that no one around you truly matches up to your expectations, and you could end up never finding someone.”

”As for those girls who successfully find someone, I think it’s like this: they initially thought the other person was just okay with a score of 60, but as they continued to date, they were surprised to find that the other person actually scored 80 or even 90, and then they ended up together!”

”So, the most important thing must be to dare to try, to give yourself the chance to understand the other person. Only then you can know if they’re truly suitable for you.”

Hearing this, Lin Shishi thoughtfully nodded, ”Okay, what you said seems quite reasonable.”

Unknowingly, the two had arrived at the stadium and went up on the higher platform on the north side.

By this time, the sunset had completely gone down, and the sky gradually darkened.

There weren’t many people in the stadium; a few couples were sparsely scattered on the darker stairs opposite.

Zhang Jingdong casually glanced around but suddenly his gaze returned to the couple sitting in the very corner.

Because at that moment, those two were actually studying!

Although the distance was far, and their actions were conservative, Zhang Jingdong, as an experienced hand, quickly noticed the clues.

Damn, it’s not even night yet, you guys are too impatiently anticipatory, oh no, too studious for sure!

Zhang Jingdong instinctively watched for a few more seconds.

Lin Shishi noticed Zhang Jingdong’s abnormal behavior and followed his gaze.

At first, she couldn’t see anything, but, catching the mischievous smile at the corner of Zhang Jingdong’s mouth, she quickly figured it out and immediately turned her head away, her face blushing.

At this time, Zhang Jingdong finally realized and awkwardly coughed twice, jokingly said, ”They say people in love are crazy, these words really are true!”

Unexpectedly, Lin Shishi suddenly said a bit coquettishly, ”Is this why you want to be in a relationship?”

Zhang Jingdong coughed again quickly, hurriedly saying, ”Of course not, what I seek in love is a soul connection. I want to find a partner that, even when we’re 80, we could still talk about anything.”

”When she was young, I liked her stunning beauty; when she grows old, I will appreciate her wisdom through hardships. In short, my partner is an ideal version of myself.”

”Every time I see her, I understand the direction of my life and the meaning of my existence.”

At this point, Lin Shishi turned her head back around, her earlier coquetry now transformed into sincere admiration: ”Looking for a partner as an ideal version of yourself... Your words are really quite philosophical.”
