Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 53: Chapter 53 He’s Making a Fuss, She’s Laughing

Liu Chunming previously brought his lover to this Western restaurant, usually spending at most three to five thousand, just playing it cool.

If it were any more expensive, he would genuinely feel the pressure.

Although he is a deputy director of a state-owned subsidiary, his actual annual income is only around four to five hundred thousand, and with various under-the-table incomes, it barely reaches seven to eight hundred thousand.

Moreover, every month he must give his official-born wife 20,000, so his personal monthly discretionary spending is only around forty to fifty thousand, and from that amount, he must also give Chen Jie 10,000.

Yet, the few dishes Zhang Jingdong ordered just now already amounted to over 10,000!

What’s more infuriating is that this guy was actually still flipping through the menu!

At this moment, Zhang Jingdong added, ”Lastly, let’s have two servings of abalone rice, both with Jibin abalone... Alright, I’ll just order these for now!”

Zhang Jingdong handed the menu back to the manager, then looked at Liu Chunming with a teasing expression: ”Mr. Liu, it’s your turn now!”

At this point, Liu Chunming was almost laughing out of anger: ”Then let’s have two servings of Australian sirloin, two servings of pan-fried salmon, two servings of Caesar salad... Alright, that’s all!”

After speaking, he waved at the manager without even glancing at Chen Jie.

Then the manager chimed in: ”Would you like to consider some beverages?”

At this point, Zhang Jingdong was even tempted to tip the manager 1000 yuan, and he directly said, ”Bring a bottle of Royal Salute!”

In that instant, Liu Chunming was sure that if An Lu wasn’t there, he would have straight up started a fight with Zhang Jingdong right then!

Damn, nobody scams people like this!

But then he glanced at An Lu and decided to hold back.

Soon, the dishes were served, and the four of them ate while chatting.

In reality, it was mainly Liu Chunming and Chen Jie who were trying to chat, while Zhang Jingdong and An Lu were mainly eating, or rather, Zhang Jingdong was mostly eating, and An Lu was accompanying him.

In response to Liu Chunming’s questions, the two occasionally gave token responses.

”My dear, try this tuna, I must say, the ingredients are quite fresh...”

Zhang Jingdong said this while serving An Lu two pieces, then quickly finished off the remaining three pieces on his own plate.

At this moment, Liu Chunming couldn’t help but grit his teeth, and bitterly cut a piece of Australian sirloin, which wasn’t even as big as a small piece of tuna, and stuffed it into his mouth.

Twenty minutes later, Zhang Jingdong finally finished the last bite of the abalone rice that An Lu couldn’t finish, half a bowl’s worth, and wiped his mouth feeling still unsatisfied.

Seeing this, Liu Chunming hurriedly launched an attack: ”Xiao Zhang, what is your line of work?”

Zhang Jingdong curled his lips: ”I run a restaurant.”

Damn it, you eating like that doesn’t look like you run a restaurant, you look more like a kept man!

”What kind of restaurant do you run? Where is it?”

Zhang Jingdong touched his nose: ”I haven’t really decided what kind of restaurant to open yet, but after today’s meal, I’m thinking of starting a Western restaurant, considering the dishes here are so expensive, the profit must be considerable!”

Listening to Zhang Jingdong’s nonsensical talk, An Lu didn’t find him dishonest, instead, she found it quite interesting.

Who made Liu Chunming hostile towards her man from the start.

Liu Chunming was almost laughing out of anger again: ”So you’re just planning now, not even started yet? Then what are you currently relying on for money?”

Zhang Jingdong casually replied, ”Fortune-telling.”

”Fortune-telling?”

Liu Chunming and Chen Jie exchanged a look, clearly both hadn’t expected Zhang Jingdong to give such a reply.

And An Lu barely held back a laugh.

Zhang Jingdong spoke with a mysterious tone: ”That’s right. When I was 15, I met a wandering Daoist who said I had a celestial constitution and could understand the universe; he then took me as his disciple and taught me the art of fortune-telling.”

Liu Chunming, scoffing, shook his head: ”Your story is too far-fetched. In that case, can you do a reading for me?”

”Of course.”

Seeing Zhang Jingdong agree, Liu Chunming immediately said, ”What information do you need? Say, my full birthdate? Place of birth?”

Zhang Jingdong shook his head: ”I don’t need any of that. I’m not one of those swindlers. Actually, at my level, just by looking at a person’s face, I can generally tell their fortune and misfortune.”

Liu Chunming couldn’t help but feel curious: ”Then can you elaborate a bit?”

”I won’t say anything else, just from your physiognomy alone, I can tell you’re destined to have romantic misfortunes in this lifetime.”

”Romantic misfortunes?”

”That’s right, it means you fall for the woman you shouldn’t, and then you’ll suffer undeserved misfortunes.”

Liu Chunming immediately realized he got played by Zhang Jingdong.

With a resigned smile: ”Alright, let’s leave it at that. I’ve always believed that I control my fate, not heaven. Even if what you predicted comes true, I believe I can handle it with my own strength.”

As he spoke, Liu Chunming lifted his arm and glanced at the Cartier watch on his wrist.

”It’s still early. We didn’t fully enjoy the bottle of Royal Salute earlier; how about we head to Tycoon and continue drinking? My treat!”

Zhang Jingdong thought for a moment, then deliberately looked as if he hadn’t taken enough advantage: ”Sure, since you’re offering, let’s check it out. I’ve always heard about that place but never been there!”

Liu Chunming now confirmed that this guy was just a naive kid who hadn’t seen much of the world, easy to handle.

He then raised his hand to call over the waiter: ”Check, please!”

”Your total expense for tonight is 18,428 yuan, with the discount it’s 17,342!”

Liu Chunming felt a pang in his heart and glanced unconsciously at Zhang Jingdong and An Lu.

He wanted Zhang Jingdong to remember that he had cost him so much money, and also wanted An Lu to understand his financial power.

Then he took out his wallet, pulled out a card, and handed it to the waiter.

After settling the bill, the four of them left the restaurant and got into their respective cars.

Since Zhang Jingdong had drunk earlier, he let An Lu take the driver’s seat, and he sat in the passenger seat.

Seeing An Lu looking somewhat nervous, Zhang Jingdong teased her: ”Don’t worry, we practiced for quite a while today, you’ll be fine, and besides, I’m here, right?”

”Not to brag, but even if you drive the car to the edge of a cliff, I could still pull it back!”

An Lu immediately let out a sigh of relief: ”Okay, then I’ll drive!”

”Go ahead and drive with confidence!”

On the way, An Lu was focused on driving, so the two didn’t talk much.

At this moment, Zhang Jingdong remembered that today he had again accumulated 30 points of goodwill, which meant he could draw a prize.

He suddenly felt inspired: ”Host, I want to draw a prize.”

”Host has accumulated 30 points of goodwill from the target person, meeting the draw conditions, you may proceed with the draw.”

”Would you like to start the draw?”

”Yes!”

”Starting the draw...”

”Prize one: Dog’s sense of smell.”

”Prize two: The ability to carry a ton of weight.”

”Prize three: Ability to drink any kind of alcohol without getting drunk.”

”Host can only choose one!”

Hmm?

This batch of prizes is a bit odd!

This dog’s sense of smell... not very useful.

Then the ability to carry a ton... sounds impressive, but I don’t need to carry heavy loads up Mount Tai to make a living, forget it.

”Alright, I’ll choose prize three, ability to drink any kind of alcohol without getting drunk.”

Although it’s somewhat trivial, at least I can show off when competing in drinking games with my dorm mates.

Meanwhile, in the BMW ahead, Liu Chunming said with a fierce expression: ”Just wait and see how I teach this young punk a lesson!”
