Zhang Jingdong, having won several battles in a row, couldn’t help but feel elated, so he continued, ”You just mentioned you like traveling. Which places have you been to so far?”

Lin Shishi replied, ”Xiangtan, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Kaifeng, Xi’an.”

”Do you choose your travel destinations at random, or is there a method to it?”

Lin Shishi tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, ”I went to Xiangtan to see the hometown of a teacher; I visited Suzhou and Hangzhou because of the saying that there is a paradise above, Suzhou and Hangzhou below; I went to Kaifeng to experience the cultural heritage of the Song Dynasty; I visited Xi’an to experience the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty.”

”Every time I choose a place to visit, I go many times because I believe to truly understand a place, one must fully immerse in the local customs, urban culture, and it usually takes a lot of time and thought.”

Zhang Jingdong nodded in complete agreement, ”I very much agree with you on this, and I also happen to love traveling. So, how about this, why don’t we schedule a time to travel together?”

Seeing Lin Shishi hesitate, Zhang Jingdong quickly explained, ”I feel that, first of all, since you’re a woman, if we travel together, I can ensure your safety.”

”Secondly, everyone has their own perspectives on different cultures and customs. If we visit the same place together, we can share and compare our viewpoints, gaining a more comprehensive and profound understanding.”

”And the last point, we could take turns being photographers for each other when traveling, not to brag, but my photography skills are pretty good!”

At this, seeing Lin Shishi still hadn’t budged, Zhang Jingdong continued, ”Lastly, I guarantee with my personal honor that during our travels, I will absolutely not harbor any inappropriate intentions towards you!”

Lin Shishi saw that Zhang Jingdong was utterly sincere and had made his points quite temptingly.

So, somewhat sheepishly, she nodded, ”Alright then.”

Seeing Lin Shishi actually agree, Zhang Jingdong knew to seize the favorable moment and shifted the topic, ”Since you like reading, watching movies, and traveling, and all these are somewhat related to music, do you like music too?”

Lin Shishi instinctively thought of the last campus music festival where Zhang Jingdong stunned the audience with a pure instrumental performance on stage.

She nodded, ”Of course, I do.”

”Do you like instrumental music or pop music more?”

”I like both, and I think your performance at the last campus music festival was really good. Did you study the clay flute professionally?”

Zhang Jingdong shook his head with a smile, ”No, I actually learned from my grandfather since I was little. You think I play well probably because I have a good talent for it.”

Lin Shishi hadn’t expected Zhang Jingdong to show a bit of pride at this moment and was amused, ”Alright then.”

Zhang Jingdong sighed, ”It’s a pity I didn’t bring my clay flute today, or I would definitely have performed a couple of pieces for you.”

”But it’s okay, since you also like pop music, do you like Jacky Cheung?”

Lin Shishi earnestly replied, ”I’m not a fan of any singer; I just like their songs. As for Jacky Cheung, I like his ’Autumn’ and ’Stealing Heart.’”

Zhang Jingdong was delighted, ”Since you like them, let me sing for you, shall I?”

”You can sing, too?”

Lin Shishi couldn’t hide her surprise.

Zhang Jingdong said teasingly, ”After all, I specialize in instrumental music, so I should be on-pitch. As for how well I sing, you’ll be able to give me your honest opinion after the performance, so I can have a real understanding of myself.”

”To be honest, I’ve never sung in front of anyone before. Today will be my premiere, so after you listen, be sure to evaluate objectively and justly, to save me the embarrassment in front of others in the future.”

Hearing this, Lin Shishi became intrigued, ”Alright.”

Zhang Jingdong prepared briefly and then began to sing a cappella:

Autumn is deep,

With the longing thoughts of departees.

A cup of wine

Holds a multitude of emotions

...

Although a cappella lacks instrumental accompaniment, it can best showcase a singer’s vocal skills and is equally moving.

Especially as Zhang Jingdong was singing just for Lin Shishi.

And when Lin Shishi heard the first few lines, she was astounded by Zhang Jingdong’s singing!

She could never have imagined that Zhang Jingdong’s singing was so pleasing, as impressive as his clay flute playing!

Moreover, she often listened to ’Autumn’ while reading, having heard it hundreds of times, so her impression of Jacky Cheung’s original was deeply etched in her memory.

And at this moment, she felt that Zhang Jingdong’s singing was in no way inferior to Jacky Cheung’s!

”Congratulations, Host, on successfully dazzling the target person, reward 100,000 yuan!”

At this time, Zhang Jingdong had finished singing the song.

He intentionally posed the question with pretended caution: ”How do you think I sang?”

It was only then that Lin Shishi finally came back to her senses, clapping her hands uncontrollably: ”I think you sang very well, almost even better than Jacky Cheung!”

”Host has received the target person’s sincere praise, reward 50,000 yuan!”

Zhang Jingdong intentionally said, ”Classmate Lin Shishi, you’re giving too much of an exaggeration. You don’t have to praise me so much just because we’re friends!”

Lin Shishi rarely got a bit excited, ”I’m not exaggerating at all, I must have listened to this song ’Autumn’ at least hundreds of times, I remember Jacky Cheung’s performance very vividly, I truly feel that you’re not a bit worse than him!”

Only then did Zhang Jingdong smile and nod, ”Alright, since you think I sing nicely, then I’ll sing another one for you!”

Lin Shishi’s face immediately lit up with excitement and anticipation: ”Okay.”

This time Zhang Jingdong did not sing ”Stealing Heart” but ”Along the Way with You.”

Do you know

Loving you isn’t easy

It takes a lot of courage

Perhaps it’s fate

So many words I can’t say

I’m just afraid you can’t bear it

...

Initially, Lin Shishi was simply appreciating Zhang Jingdong’s singing.

But when Zhang Jingdong sang with a deeply affectionate face, ”Do you believe, meeting you in this life, I owed you from a previous one, perhaps it’s fate, letting me fall for you, only to have you leave me again...”

Suddenly Lin Shishi felt an inexplicable touch in her heart, a feeling she had never experienced before.

Tingling, numbing, yet there’s an indescribable comfort.

And then she realized that Zhang Jingdong really looked so handsome at this moment!

No way around it, his natural good looks were already close to 90 points, and now he was performing so close to her, singing so nicely just for her, it was truly hard not to be enraptured.

”Host has successfully gained 10 points of goodwill from the target person, reward 20,000 yuan!”

Before long, Zhang Jingdong finished singing another song.

He asked Lin Shishi again: ”How about this song?”

Lin Shishi’s eyes shone brightly: ”Even nicer than the last one!”

Zhang Jingdong smiled casually, then fixed a burning gaze on Lin Shishi: ”Now, do I have yet another reason to travel with you? When the time comes, I can become your personal MP3!”

Lin Shishi was amused to laughter: ”Okay... listening to you sing is truly a rare pleasure!”

Zhang Jingdong spoke earnestly: ”Then I’ll often sing for you in the future... just for you alone!”

That one line made Lin Shishi blush.

She bit the corner of her mouth; although happy inside, she didn’t know how to respond.

Watching her charming appearance for a while, Zhang Jingdong felt that today’s goal was basically achieved, so he said when the time was right: ”It’s getting late, let’s go back.”

Lin Shishi nodded her head: ”...Mhm.”

The two of them left the stand, exited the stadium, and walked towards the dormitory area.

On the way, neither said a word, but neither felt the slightest bit awkward.

Zhang Jingdong only felt that even the air was sweet at this time.

While Lin Shishi felt as if a cotton candy had melted in her heart.
