Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Bickering with Her Best Friend

Su Man felt a tightness in her chest when she saw An Lu actually nodding.

Although she suspected Zhang Jingdong might deceive her, she knew An Lu would definitely not lie to her.

But she quickly thought of something else.

That was, wealthy men like Zhang Jingdong were certainly fickle-hearted.

The only reason he spent so much money on An Lu in such a short time since they met was purely to get her quickly, and then to easily discard her afterward.

Moreover, in her view, An Lu would absolutely not bring a man she had just met a week ago back to her home under normal circumstances.

So it was very possible that Zhang Jingdong had played some tricks on her.

Thus, Su Man hesitated and said, ”An An, have you two... already moved in together?”

An Lu’s face turned shyly red and she shook her head: ”No... he had too much to drink at Grand Tycoon earlier, and I was worried about him going back alone, so... I let him stay in the guest bedroom for the night.”

Hearing this, Su Man breathed a sigh of relief: ”Oh... so that’s what happened!”

Saying this, she suddenly stepped forward and took An Lu’s arm: ”Then take me in for tonight too, my air conditioner is broken, and our landlord is currently in Yanjing, saying he won’t be back until the day after tomorrow to find someone to fix it!”

”I just got back from a business trip, the room is too hot, and I can’t cook, I’ve had nothing but an airplane meal since this afternoon and haven’t eaten anything yet!”

”And I’ve missed your noodles so much, could you make me a bowl?”

The two’s landlord was a lady from Wenzhou, who reportedly owned as many as five floors in this building.

An Lu, seeing her pitiful look, turned her head with a plea towards Zhang Jingdong.

Although Zhang Jingdong saw through Su Man’s tactics, he didn’t want to expose her in front of An Lu, lest he seem too eager.

He nodded shortly after.

Seeing Zhang Jingdong’s agreement, An Lu immediately said, ”Alright, let’s go.”

Su Man felt a pang of jealousy when she saw An Lu favor Zhang Jingdong over her friendship.

Then, while An Lu turned around, she gave Zhang Jingdong a big roll of her eyes.

Zhang Jingdong thought to himself, if it weren’t for wanting to take a longer look at your long legs, and to experience the drama of watching you and your long-legged best friend at my girlfriend’s place, do you think I would nod?

So he did not indulge her, and openly glanced over her whole body.

Su Man didn’t expect Zhang Jingdong to dare to be so bold, and instinctively thought to tell An Lu.

But then she saw him suddenly looking at An Lu with a face full of love.

Su Man immediately thought if she complained to An Lu about her boyfriend ogling her now, An Lu would probably not believe her, and might even suspect her because of Zhang Jingdong.

This way she would fall right into Zhang Jingdong’s trap of sowing discord.

So she had no choice but to glare at Zhang Jingdong resentfully: We’ll see about this!

An Lu opened the door, and the three of them walked in.

This was indeed a standard two-bedroom, and rightfully the residence of a great beauty, even the living room was filled with a pleasant fragrance.

An Lu said to Su Man, ”You go to the kitchen to get the ingredients ready, I’ll make him a pot of tea for hangover relief first.”

Su Man nodded a bit vexedly, ”Okay.”

Then, while An Lu wasn’t looking, she gave Zhang Jingdong another big roll of her eyes and went to the kitchen.

Zhang Jingdong, on the other hand, nonchalantly seated himself on the living room sofa and grabbed the remote control, turning on the television.

He switched through a couple of channels, finally settling on Anhui TV, which was replaying ”Conquest” - last year’s big hit that premiered on Jinmen TV Station.

At that moment, it was playing a classic scene where Liu Huaqiang and his two henchmen corner Feng Biao in a restaurant, forcing him to kneel and call him ”Dad.”

”Crazy man, I heard you’ve been looking for me lately, what’s wrong, can’t let it go? Competing with me, Liu Huaqiang, do you have the strength...”

After a while, An Lu brought Zhang Jingdong a pot of tea.

Pouring him a cup, she said, ”Try this, a friend gifted me this Biluochun Tea; it’s good for a hangover.”

Zhang Jingdong picked up the teacup, sniffed it, and then took a light sip.

”Hmm... not bad! As the saying goes, tea is 30% leaves and 70% preparation. Surprisingly, you actually have this skill!”

Upon receiving the compliment, An Lu immediately beamed with sweetness.

Glancing towards the kitchen, she then apologised, ”I’m sorry, Su Man is my best friend, so I didn’t...”

Zhang Jingdong waved off her apology, ”What are you sorry for? It’s nothing. Plus, your friend is actually quite loyal to you. I’m fine, don’t worry about it!”

As he spoke, Zhang Jingdong playfully flicked her nose.

Seeing Zhang Jingdong so understanding, An Lu took the initiative and gave him a kiss, then said somewhat shyly in a quiet voice, ”If you really want to... then... you can come over again tomorrow.”

Zhang Jingdong immediately laughed, ”Now I plan to wait until the day I get the car... in your car!”

”I knew if I didn’t satisfy you this time, you would have bad ideas, hmph... I’m not talking to you anymore!”

An Lu said, giving Zhang Jingdong a captivatingly resentful glance, then got up and headed to the kitchen.

Su Man had already been waiting in the kitchen for half a day. As soon as An Lu finally entered, she immediately started her interrogation.

”An An, how did you meet him?”

Starting with this one question, Su Man launched into a relentless series of nineteen queries.

An Lu had anticipated these questions and continued to make noodles while answering her.

Then, what was initially meant to be a quick ten-minute noodle dish ended up taking over half an hour.

By this time, Su Man had learned pretty much everything about their relationship.

She then came to a very sad conclusion: Zhang Jingdong was indeed formidable; he even knew martial arts and could play the hero saving a damsel in distress.

And most importantly, An Lu had clearly fallen in love with him and was unable to extricate herself.

However, just from the way Zhang Jingdong daringly ogled her when he first arrived, Su Man was convinced that he was not a good person.

She secretly decided that she would gradually unveil Zhang Jingdong’s true colors step by step and would also protect An Lu well. She absolutely couldn’t let Zhang Jingdong’s schemes succeed.

Afterwards, they each carried a bowl of noodles back to the living room.

An Lu said to Zhang Jingdong, ”You should have a bowl too. Eating something after drinking is better for the stomach.”

Zhang Jingdong replied playfully, ”Sure, I’ll taste your culinary skills.”

At this point, Su Man said, ”This is quite the honor for you. I prepared the ingredients, and our An An personally cooked them, and you just get to enjoy the ready-made meal.”

Zhang Jingdong was still unobliging, ”Sorry, but if I remember correctly, just now it was someone pitifully begging my girlfriend to cook noodles for her.”

”Originally, the two of us had a lot of things to do tonight, but to accommodate your friendship, I agreed to give up our time for you, and now you say this.”

”So, may I ask, Miss Su Man, when you were preparing the ingredients earlier, did you accidentally chop up your conscience as well and mix it in?”

Su Man didn’t expect Zhang Jingdong to talk so audaciously, as the boyfriends of her other female friends had always been very polite to her, going out of their way to please her.

She couldn’t believe that when it came to her best friend, this despicable boyfriend would dare to speak to her in this way.

Su Man subconsciously turned to look at An Lu.

And as a result, An Lu actually said, ”Hurry up and eat the noodles, they won’t taste good once they cool down!”

With that statement, Zhang Jingdong cheekily responded, ”Your wish is my command!”

Saying so, he picked up his chopsticks and started to eat heartily.

Seeing this, Su Man could only pout and resign herself to eating her noodles.

Ten minutes later, both had finished their meal.

Now Su Man wanted to get even and immediately said, ”Just now, us two women cooked the noodles, so as a man, you should now go and wash the bowls. That’s fair, right?”

Zhang Jingdong sighed and said, ”Miss Su Man, as a guest, one should be aware when they go to someone else’s house to eat.”

”After eating someone’s food, you ought to voluntarily wash the bowls clean, so that next time you want to freeload a meal, they won’t refuse you!”

”A guest? Someone else’s house?” Su Man was suddenly amused: ”Zhang Jingdong, it sounds like you’re talking about yourself!”

Zhang Jingdong smirked, ”Sorry, An Lu is my woman, I am her man, and I’m buying this house tomorrow, so from now on, this is our home!”
