Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 48: Chapter 48 Are You Jealous?

As Xiao Fei spoke, Lin Shishi and An Lu immediately all turned their attention to Zhang Jingdong.

Lin Shishi hadn’t expected Zhang Jingdong and Xiao Fei to be so familiar with each other that he even gave her a membership card.

And An Lu was even more certain of her previous guess, that Xiao Fei likes Zhang Jingdong, while Zhang Jingdong likes Lin Shishi.

Because under the same circumstances, Zhang Jingdong only offered Xiao Fei a 40% discount, but he let Lin Shishi dine for free.

Seeing the situation, Zhang Jingdong quickly analyzed the current state of affairs.

If he outright said that he let Lin Shishi and her friends dine for free, then Xiao Fei would definitely get angry.

But if he didn’t mention that he let Lin Shishi and her friends dine for free, then Shishi would certainly misunderstand his relationship with Xiao Fei.

As for An Lu, whether or not he mentioned it, she would definitely harbor some doubts about Lin Shishi and Xiao Fei in her heart.

After this analysis, Zhang Jingdong made a quick decision.

With An Lu, he could appease her when he drove her home later.

Between allowing Shishi to misunderstand him and making Xiao Fei angry, Zhang Jingdong directly chose the latter.

The reason was very simple, Zhang Jingdong really wasn’t afraid of offending Xiao Fei at the moment.

But once Shishi misunderstood, it would be a difficult situation to handle later on.

In the end, there was one reason, just like how Fat Orange dotes on Zhen Huan, Lin Shishi was the most important in Zhang Jingdong’s heart for the time being.

So, Zhang Jingdong replied with a smile: ”No need, I let them dine for free!”

At these words, Xiao Fei was instantly a bit flustered: ”You let them dine for free...”

Xiao Fei subconsciously glanced at Lin Shishi again, then quickly thought of something and tried to stay calm: ”So, you two knew each other in private? That’s really quite interesting!”

Zhang Jingdong said nonchalantly: ”Exactly, just like you learn to play the Clay Flute from me, we have a teacher-student relationship. Initially, I also sought Shishi’s advice on some hosting experience, so that’s how we know each other!”

”And a few days ago, when we were doing promotion, Shishi’s dorm friends also helped out, so I thought of treating them to a meal.”

Having said this, Zhang Jingdong turned to look at Lin Shishi: ”So, Senior Shishi, don’t insist anymore. The next time you come, I’ll definitely let you pay. Is it settled then?”

Upon hearing this, and now in front of so many people, Lin Shishi found it hard not to give Zhang Jingdong face and thus she nodded: ”...Okay.”

Xiao Fei couldn’t hold back anymore, half-jokingly said: ”Mr. Zhang, isn’t that a bit unfair?”

”I also helped you hand out flyers a few days ago, but why did you only give me a membership card and then only a 40% discount?”

”I can understand you letting Shishi dine for free, but you can’t treat us so differently, can you?”

Zhang Jingdong pouted: ”Senior Shishi not only helped me hand out flyers, but she is also my teacher and taught me a lot.”

”You did help me with the flyers, but I am your teacher, I’ve taught you quite a bit, so that’s why... where do you see the unfairness?”

Having said this, Zhang Jingdong knew that if he didn’t find a way to let Xiao Fei dine for free as well, Lin Shishi would certainly find it hard to accept the free meal.

He then deliberately sighed: ”However, since you’ve said so, let’s forget it. Let’s also treat you to a free meal today, since you are my student!”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Fei, although still somewhat unhappy inside, knew this was the greatest extent of face Zhang Jingdong could give her.

Other things could be discussed later. If she made a fuss here, Zhang Jingdong might not give her face in the future.

So she took the hint, smiled sweetly: ”Alright, then thank you, Mr. Zhang!”

Then she turned to Lin Shishi and said: ”Shishi, let’s leave together.”

At this moment, Lin Shishi glanced at Zhang Jingdong: ”Then... we’ll be leaving first.”

Zhang Jingdong secretly breathed a sigh of relief and nodded: ”Of course... take care!”

Xiao Fei cast a meaningful glance at An Lu behind the counter and then left the shop, pulling Lin Shishi by the hand.

As the two of them stepped out of the shop, Zhang Jingdong deliberately refrained from immediately explaining himself to An Lu, knowing that it would make him seem guilty if he tried to justify himself right now.

So, he turned around and headed back to the kitchen.

By around 10 p.m., the day’s business finally came to an end.

After everyone else had left, Zhang Jingdong, An Lu, Yuan Mei, and Wang Yuan gathered in the office.

At this moment, Zhang Jingdong turned to An Lu and asked, ”How much was today’s turnover? Have you calculated it?”

An Lu was no longer distracted like before and with a gleeful expression, she announced, ”The total is... 21328!”

Upon hearing this, both Yuan Mei and Wang Yuan were shocked!

Yuan Mei couldn’t help but marvel, ”Seeing the amount of customers we had today, I thought the turnover might reach 20,000. Honestly, I thought that was a bit far-fetched at the time, but it turns out I even underestimated it!”

”Tsk tsk, business is really booming in the university town!”

Zhang Jingdong thought to himself, this was just the beginning. Even without opening this restaurant, his pals could make fifty to sixty thousand just by strolling down the pedestrian street every day.

He realized he needed to think about other business opportunities, otherwise, when he manages to win over An Lu and the system suddenly awards him with hundreds of millions, he wouldn’t be able to find a legitimate source for the fortune.

But what he said was, ”Hmm... not bad, let’s all keep up the good work and try to maintain this level in the future!”

Yuan Mei nodded in agreement, ”Right, if we can maintain this level, then our restaurant will truly be established!”

The group discussed some issues and improvements related to the business that day, and then the four of them left the restaurant.

Yuan Mei drove off with Wang Yuan in her Beetle, while Zhang Jingdong got into his Accord with An Lu.

Throughout the car ride, even though An Lu chatted and laughed with him, Zhang Jingdong could still sense a hint of awkwardness in her eyes.

He took the initiative and said, ”Tell me the truth, were you jealous when you saw my two beautiful senior classmates today?”

An Lu didn’t expect Zhang Jingdong to bring it up and was initially stunned, then bit the corner of her mouth, ”Me... No, I wasn’t... I wasn’t jealous!”

Zhang Jingdong burst into laughter, ”How can you say you weren’t!”

An Lu, seeing that Zhang Jingdong was joking, gave him a sideways glance, ”Alright, I admit it, are you happy now?”

”Those two classmates of yours are so pretty and have such an air about them, and you even... you even waived their bill!”

”As a woman, seeing your own boyfriend do that, of course, I’d be jealous!”

At that moment, Zhang Jingdong reached out, took An Lu’s hand, and kissed it deeply, ”Don’t worry, no matter how pretty they are, they are not as beautiful as you are in my eyes!”

Even though An Lu knew Zhang Jingdong’s words weren’t entirely sincere, his attitude alone was satisfying enough for her.

She couldn’t help but ask excitedly, ”Really?”

Zhang Jingdong didn’t stutter at all as he replied, ”Of course it’s true! Not just the two of them, even if it’s Wang Zuxian, Chung Chuhong, Lee Jiashin, Angelina Jolie, Sophie Marceau, Shu Qi, Monica Bellucci... If all of them appeared before me with you, I definitely wouldn’t spare them a glance!”

An Lu was completely amused, ”You sure have a way with words!”

Twenty minutes later, the car slowly pulled up at the entrance of Lu Ming Garden.

Zhang Jingdong wrapped his arm around An Lu’s shoulder and gave her cheek a kiss, ”You must be exhausted, take a good rest at home tomorrow, you’ve got work the day after!”

An Lu felt a warm surge in her heart but quickly remembered something else, ”Are you trying to keep me away so you can chat with your pretty classmates?”

Zhang Jingdong shook his head with a smile, ”If Madam insists on that, then you can come tomorrow, and if you do, I’ll have a surprise for you.”

”A surprise?” An Lu pursed her lips, ”What surprise?”

”If I tell you the surprise now, would it still be a surprise...” Zhang Jingdong teased An Lu’s nose, ”Alright, let me walk you in. Get some rest early tonight.”

An Lu nodded sweetly, ”Mhm.”
