Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Finally, I Can Be Handsome!

Zhang Jingdong never expected that what started as a date with Xiao Fei tinged with stubbornness and a touch of provocation would turn into the current situation.

He had somehow, bewilderingly, become her music teacher!

Now, seeing Xiao Fei’s boundless excitement and joy, Zhang Jingdong couldn’t help but recall her explosive performance at the campus music festival the day before yesterday and her cool demeanor in front of everyone.

He felt an indescribable thrill inside!

Following that, he asked, ”No, I’m curious. With all the effort you’re putting into learning music, do you see yourself becoming a musician in the future, or is it just a pure hobby?”

Xiao Fei paused for a moment, then replied peacefully, ”I’ve always loved playing various instruments since I was young, but if it comes to making a living in the future, I might choose to be a singer.”

”That way, I can continue my musical career and support myself.”

”I see,” nodded Zhang Jingdong thoughtfully, ”Well, I wish you success.”

”Thank you.”

At that moment, Xiao Fei realized she was still holding Zhang Jingdong’s hand and quickly let go with a blush.

To cover her embarrassment, she asked in return, ”What about you? You play the Clay Flute so well, how did you practice?”

Zhang Jingdong curled his lips slightly, ”When I was little, my grandfather liked to play the Clay Flute, so he taught me for a while, and then I just kept playing aimlessly... Probably just pure talent, because honestly, I didn’t know I was this good before!”

Zhang Jingdong knew that if he explained in all seriousness to Xiao Fei, she would be less likely to believe him.

After all, she was formally trained in this area and could easily spot his weaknesses.

So he simply took a tougher stance, insisting that it was all due to his natural talent, as nobody can really explain these things.

After all, Gauss deduced his theorems at the age of 17, and no one could do anything about it.

Indeed, although Xiao Fei found it hard to believe, she had to admit that it might indeed be the case.

In her mind, even some so-called Clay Flute virtuosos on TV did not play as well as Zhang Jingdong, so this could only be explained by talent.

So, she said, ”I think you could enter some music competitions; with your current level, you’d definitely win awards!”

Zhang Jingdong thought to himself, why on earth would I do that?

But he seriously responded, ”I believe that anything is most enjoyable when it’s simply regarded as a hobby. Once it becomes a means of chasing fame and fortune, I might lose the pleasure of doing it.”

”Moreover, others participate in competitions to win big prizes, mostly for making money, whereas I have many other ways to earn much more money.”

”So I’ll always treat playing the Clay Flute as a hobby, blowing a few tunes when I’m free. It’s quite nice!”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Fei’s eyes lit up.

Apart from appreciating Zhang Jingdong’s view on music, she also sensed a strong self-confidence and a noble indifference to fame and wealth in his words.

In her past understanding, the purpose of studying music was to enter competitions, win awards, and become a winner in everyone’s eyes.

But now, with such a high level of skill, Zhang Jingdong was content to forgo the chase for fame and fortune, which she found to be extraordinarily rare!

”Congratulations to the Host for gaining 10 points of goodwill from the target person, rewarded with 20,000 yuan!”

Zhang Jingdong had not anticipated that by saying just those words, he would actually gain the girl’s goodwill, leaving him pleasantly surprised.

And with this, he had again accumulated 30 points of goodwill, which meant another chance at the lottery!

This was indeed a delightful surprise!

Xiao Fei noticed the joy in Zhang Jingdong’s eyes, but she thought it was simply his contentment showing, and she promptly said, ”You’re the most unique guy I’ve ever met, and I really admire your attitude towards music.”

”And I believe that with these choices of yours, your tunes will definitely become more and more pleasing to the ear in the future!”

With the girl’s compliment, Zhang Jingdong’s vanity was satisfied once more.

Though he wanted to chat with the girl a bit longer, he was more eager to go back for the lottery, so he said, ”Thanks, maybe one day when I’m in a good mood, I’ll play a couple of tunes just for you!”

”That’s enough for today; I’ve given you some pointers. You should practice on your own as I advised, I have other things to do, so I’m off!”

Xiao Fei clearly didn’t expect Zhang Jingdong to leave so soon and felt somewhat dejected, as if she truly wasn’t charming enough for Zhang Jingdong.

But now that he was her teacher, she couldn’t well insist on him staying, so she could only say, ”Well... okay, I will definitely practice diligently.”

”Next week, let me know when you’re available, and I will report my progress to you.”

Zhang Jingdong nodded, ”Alright, it’s a deal then!”

The two chatted as they left the small park together. Just as Xiao Fei was about to seize the opportunity to talk more about music with Zhang Jingdong, she realized he was walking in the opposite direction.

She hesitated and asked, ”Mr. Zhang, aren’t you going back to the dormitory?”

Zhang Jingdong waved his hand, ”I’ve rented a place outside; I stay there when I have things to do, goodbye!”

Xiao Fei instantly felt a renewed curiosity about Zhang Jingdong: ”...goodbye.”

”The target person has developed a curiosity about the Host, rewarded with 20,000 yuan!”

Zhang Jingdong felt a burst of joy and then turned his head to look at Xiao Fei again, teasingly said, ”Next time we meet, you’re not allowed to dress like this!”

”In the middle of the night, you’re so pretty, and your figure is so good, do you really think I’m a saint?”

Having said that, he turned around and walked away.

Xiao Fei watched his figure disappearing into the distance, her face breaking into a radiant smile, her eyes regaining their usual confidence.

No wonder, so he was pretending all along!

I mean, come on, any normal man couldn’t possibly resist me!

But this guy has some serious willpower!

Maybe I should dance for him alone next time?

That’s a plan!

Thinking this, the corners of Xiao Fei’s mouth slowly revealed a mischievous smile.

Of course, Zhang Jingdong had no idea about this girl’s scheme; his mind was occupied with just one thing—home lottery draw!

At that moment, he wished he could fly, so he walked faster and faster, and eventually broke into a run.

Finally, after ten minutes, he was home.

He double-locked the door and then went to the bedroom and drew the curtains.

He took a deep breath and then mentally called out, ”Bro System, I want to draw a lottery!”

”Host has accumulated 30 points of goodwill, meeting the conditions for the lottery draw. You may proceed.”

”Would the host like to start the lottery draw?”

”Yes.”

”Starting the lottery draw...”

”Prize one: Schumacher’s racing skills.”

”Prize two: Facial Attractiveness Enhancer.”

”Prize three: Invisible height-increasing insoles.”

”The host can only choose one!”

As soon as Zhang Jingdong heard about the Facial Attractiveness Enhancer, he was instantly overjoyed: ”Finally, I’ve got you, I can finally become handsome!”

So as soon as the system finished speaking, he hastened to carefully say, ”I choose the Facial Attractiveness Enhancer!”

No sooner had he spoken than a glass bottle appeared in his hand filled with red liquid.

It was Zhang Jingdong’s first time seeing an actual item provided by the system, he looked at it for a long time, and couldn’t help but ask, ”Bro System, is this the Facial Attractiveness Enhancer? Do I just drink it?”

”Correct, drink it up, and you’ll become handsome!”

Zhang Jingdong was momentarily confused as the words sounded too much like the brainwashing language used by the leaders of certain organizations.

However, the system had proven its authenticity with real money and Bruce Lee’s martial arts before.

So, after a brief hesitation, Zhang Jingdong unscrewed the bottle cap and downed it in one breath.

After finishing it, he directly went to the bathroom, stood in front of the mirror, and carefully stared at his reflection.

Then he saw the somewhat large pores on his face visibly shrinking before his eyes, with some areas eventually becoming almost invisible and very clean.

But after another ten minutes, he noticed no other changes in his face.

He became anxious and blurted out, ”Bro System, the effects of this Facial Attractiveness Enhancer aren’t just this, are they?”

”To prevent the host from being discovered, the Facial Attractiveness Enhancer will gradually increase the host’s attractiveness to 95 points over two months, so there is no need to worry!”

Zhang Jingdong suddenly realized, although a bit disappointed since he thought he would become a great-looking guy right after drinking it, but now he had to wait two months.

However, he quickly came around and agreed with the system’s arrangement.

After all, if he became a great-looking guy overnight, it would be troublesome.

At least his dorm mates, Lin Shishi, and Xiao Fei would have huge doubts about him, and he wouldn’t be able to explain.

Well, it’s just two months. I’ve waited for nearly forty years in these two lives; what’s two more months!

With this thought, Zhang Jingdong immediately returned to his ecstatic state, even starting to dream about his life after becoming a great-looking guy.

Tsk tsk, I’m already starting to get rich, becoming a billionaire is just a matter of time.

And with these heaven-defying good looks, I’ll really be the genuine triumvirate of wealth, looks, and status!

Life will be too awesome!
