Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 33: Chapter 33 Take Her Shopping at LV

Zhang Jingdong was driving while speaking to An Lu, ”Besides eating today, there’s another task at hand.”

”Task?” An Lu couldn’t help looking curious, ”What task?”

”My restaurant is opening next week, and I’ve pretty much settled the chef team, but now there’s still a management team missing. To put it simply, I need to find a capable manager.”

”Recruiting someone on such short notice will definitely not yield the right candidate, so I was thinking of offering a high salary to poach one from another restaurant. Later on, you’ll help me scout for the right person.”

An Lu suddenly understood, but then showed a troubled expression: ”But I’ve never had any experience interviewing anyone, let alone for a position of a manager!”

Zhang Jingdong glanced over at An Lu, ”I just need you to provide a female perspective, like her demeanor, interpersonal skills, and whether she is sincere or not. I’ll handle the rest.”

An Lu immediately felt relieved, ”Okay, I got it.”

She was also a bit excited, as this was far more interesting than staying at home.

Half an hour later, the two arrived at the Xiang River South located on Yanjing Road.

It was a Hunan cuisine restaurant of a similar scale to Zhang Jingdong’s.

The two got out of the car and went inside.

After ordering five dishes, Zhang Jingdong suddenly asked the waiter, ”Do you have Hennessy here?”

”I am sorry sir, we don’t carry wine. We only have liquor and beer.”

Zhang Jingdong simply said, ”Alright then, could you call your manager over for me?”

”... Okay, please wait a moment!”

Shortly after, a young woman in a professional suit came in.

”Hello, I am the manager here. How may I assist you?”

Zhang Jingdong glanced at An Lu, then said, ”I suddenly feel like having some Hennessy, but your waiter just told me that you don’t have this liquor. Can you help me find a bottle?”

The woman almost didn’t hesitate and replied with a smile, ”Of course, that’s no problem. However, we indeed do not have Hennessy in our restaurant right now. I will need to go elsewhere to get it for you, so it will take about twenty minutes. Is that okay?”

Zhang Jingdong nodded, ”That’s fine!”

After the next two dishes were served, the manager actually did bring a bottle of Hennessy.

Zhang Jingdong then said, ”Thank you. May I have your business card? It would be useful to contact you in advance when I come here next time!”

”Of course!”

She handed out a business card to Zhang Jingdong.

Zhang Jingdong took it, glanced at it, and then kept it away.

Half an hour later, the two finished dining, and the female manager personally escorted them out of the restaurant.

Getting back into the car, Zhang Jingdong turned and asked An Lu, ”Describe your impression of her in a few words.”

An Lu paused for a moment, then replied, ”Confident yet humble, calm and composed, attentive to detail.”

Zhang Jingdong nodded thoughtfully, then started the car again and quickly vanished from the spot.

In the following six hours, the two visited three more restaurants and tested the managers there in a similar fashion.

Only one of them was immediately passed over by Zhang Jingdong, while the other two were shortlisted.

However, the one Zhang Jingdong favored the most was still the first one.

Having these three candidates as options, Zhang Jingdong was completely at ease, confident he could secure one of them.

He then drove to Galaxy Mall.

It was time to buy some branded clothing.

Otherwise, stepping into a slightly pricier restaurant would earn him complicated looks from the greeters.

Had it not been for the presence of the beautiful An Lu, asking for Hennessy might have ended with him being kicked out as a troublemaker.

After getting out of the car, just as Zhang Jingdong was about to go in, An Lu suddenly said, ”I remember there aren’t any good restaurants around here, are there?”

Zhang Jingdong smiled and shook his head: ”We’re not here for food, I want to buy a couple of pieces of clothing, and then I want your help to take a look.”

An Lu suddenly understood, and then her pretty face blushed slightly: ”...Okay, but... I’ve never picked out clothes for a man before... so... are you sure?”

Zhang Jingdong said casually: ”Just tell me the truth later. If you think it looks good, say it looks good; if you think it doesn’t, say it doesn’t!”

An Lu pursed her lips: ”Mhm, I got it!”

The two then entered the mall.

Zhang Jingdong hadn’t really been here in his past life, but he still recognized a few luxury brand logos, so he quickly made his way to the LV counter.

Meanwhile, although An Lu knew Zhang Jingdong was wealthy, she had not expected that when he said he was buying two pieces of clothing, he meant LV!

Although she had never bought clothes here, she had heard that the cheapest items were several thousand yuan, slightly more expensive ones would be tens of thousands, and the most expensive could be up to hundreds of thousands.

She once had a female colleague who had a rich second-generation boyfriend; he gave her an LV bag that he said cost over thirty thousand yuan.

Consequently, she showed off that bag for more than half a year until she broke up with the rich second-generation, and only then did she finally stop talking about it.

Although An Lu wasn’t envious of that, being a girl, she also liked beautiful bags.

So at that moment, looking at those gorgeous and exquisite bags not far away, her heart couldn’t help but flutter.

But she also knew that any bag here could be worth half a year of her salary; she simply couldn’t afford it.

Whilst she lost herself in thought, Zhang Jingdong had already chosen three outfits and a pair of shoes and went to the fitting room.

Before long, he came out in the first outfit, checked himself in the mirror, and then asked An Lu, ”What do you think?”

An Lu glanced at him and then immediately showed a face full of surprise: ”Hmm, it’s very nice. I didn’t expect you to be such a clothes hanger!”

Zhang Jingdong felt a little smug: ”You know it!”

He then went to change into the other two outfits and after coming out, also received An Lu’s praise.

Thus, Zhang Jingdong quickly decided on his clothes.

However, he did not hurry out but went straight to the bags that An Lu had been looking at.

Turning to ask An Lu, ”Which of these bags do you think is the prettiest?”

An Lu was startled at first, then a bit confused: ”This... these are all women’s bags. What do you want these for?”

Zhang Jingdong said offhandedly: ”A female friend’s birthday is coming up. I plan to buy her one of these bags as a birthday gift.”

An Lu’s eyes dimmed but quickly recovered, and she forced herself to be calm: ”...I see... okay then.”

After that, she carefully looked them over again, and then pointed to a black chain handbag in the upper left corner: ”This one is nice!”

Zhang Jingdong followed where she was pointing, glanced at the handbag, and hesitated: ”It looks alright, just not sure how it actually appears when carried. Could you try it on for me?”

There was a rare flicker of discomfort born from insecurity in An Lu’s eyes, but she nodded anyway: ”...Okay then!”

She then asked the sales assistant to take it down for her to hold.

At this moment, Zhang Jingdong nodded satisfactorily: ”Hmm... indeed not bad, let’s take this one!”

Afterward, Zhang Jingdong went to the counter to pay the bill, spending over one hundred and sixty thousand yuan in total, and the bag alone cost over fifty thousand yuan.

Once they left the mall, Zhang Jingdong turned to her and asked, ”Are you still hungry?”

An Lu shook her head with a smile: ”After eating all afternoon, I’m not hungry, I feel exceptionally full right now!”

Zhang Jingdong also laughed: ”Me too. Shall I take you home?”

Although An Lu didn’t want to go back so early, seeing that it was getting dark, and not good to have Zhang Jingdong take her somewhere else, she could only nod: ”Mhm.”

Half an hour later, the car slowly stopped in front of Lu Ming Garden.

After a few more exchanges, An Lu said, ”See you later,” and was about to get out of the car.

That’s when a voice suddenly came from the side: ”Wait a minute, you haven’t taken your things yet!”
