Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 24: Chapter 24 An Lu’s Invitation

Zhang Jingdong chose Bruce Lee’s combat abilities because public security these days isn’t as good as it will be in the future.

For example, just two days ago, in broad daylight, those two hoodlums dared to molest Li Yiran.

And last night, An Lu was drugged in a bar, and in the process of rescuing her, he ended up offending that rich second-generation kid.

So, even though Kobe’s basketball skills and Zhou Xingchi’s acting are very tempting, he still chose Bruce Lee.

Furthermore, in his opinion, even if Kobe and Zhou Xingchi themselves found out about this, they definitely wouldn’t say anything, after all, their idol was also Bruce Lee.

Not long after Zhang Jingdong made his choice, he suddenly felt his brain twitch, then noticed his body was actually emitting white steam!

He couldn’t help but think to himself: Could it be that I am undergoing a profound internal transformation?

A whole half hour passed before his brain finally regained clarity, and his body stopped emitting steam.

He steadied his mind, knowing that he now had Bruce Lee’s combat abilities.

Instantly, he felt a wave of ecstatic joy.

In his excitement, he quickly recalled the scenes from Bruce Lee’s movies he had seen before.

Then he went over to the desk beside him.

After all, he was renting this place, so this desk was very simple, basically just a plank of wood on a frame.

The plank was about one centimeter thick, which was a bit thicker than the boards broken by those who practice Taekwondo, but it shouldn’t be a problem for Bruce Lee.

Thinking this, Zhang Jingdong stretched out his hand and measured the desk’s surface.

He quickly thought about the essence of the one-inch punching technique and then threw a punch suddenly.

Then, only to see that the thick desktop actually split apart!

My goodness, this is indeed Bruce Lee’s might, truly awesome!

Zhang Jingdong was excited for a while and then remembered Li Sanjiao.

So he looked at the ceiling, took a few steps back, started with a left kick, followed by a right, and finally a spinning kick.

All of them made a whooshing sound through the air.

He got excited, so he suddenly jumped up forcefully, and nearly reached the ceiling with his kick!

Zhang Jingdong was now completely delighted, and conveniently practiced a set of Jeet Kune Do techniques.

Another twenty minutes passed, and with joy on his face, Zhang Jingdong went to the bathroom to take a shower.

When he came out, he suddenly heard his phone ringing and quickly walked to the bedroom.

He picked up the phone and saw it was An Lu!

His heart stirred, and he answered immediately: ”Hello...”

”...Do you have time tonight? I want to invite you to dinner and then talk to you about something.”

”Sure, no problem.”

”Then 7 o’clock tonight, what would you like to eat?”

”Then, how about Yulinglong on Changfeng Road?”

”Okay...see you tonight!”

”See you tonight.”

”The Host has successfully received an active dinner invitation from the target character, rewarded with 30,000 yuan!”

After hanging up the phone, Zhang Jingdong smiled and shook his head.

He genuinely hadn’t expected An Lu to call him so soon to invite him for this meal.

Could it be she’s taken a liking to me?

No way, right?

Forget it, no use wondering, I’ll know soon enough.

At this point, Zhang Jingdong glanced at the time; it was just after 5 PM, so he went down to Sohu Internet Cafe near the gate of West University.

He checked some news on Sohu for a while, then rewatched Bruce Lee’s ”Jingwu Gate,” studying Bruce Lee’s movements and techniques.

At 6:20 PM, he left the internet cafe and took a taxi to Yulinglong.

Upon entering, he thought he was early and wanted to take a seat in advance, but then he suddenly saw someone waving at him from a window seat in the distance.

He looked carefully and it turned out to be An Lu.

He then walked over.

As he approached, An Lu stood up and greeted him.

Today she was wearing a black skirt suit with a white blouse inside, still so graceful and charming, elegant and poised.

Zhang Jingdong teased: ”It’s not even 7 yet, I thought I was early, but I didn’t expect you to be even earlier.”

An Lu said serenely, ”I got off work early today, so I came straight here.”

She waved over a waiter, then passed the menu to Zhang Jingdong: ”I’ve never been here before, so I don’t know what’s good. You order.”

Zhang Jingdong smiled casually as he took the menu: ”Can you handle spicy food?”

”I’m okay with it.”

Zhang Jingdong then ordered 5 dishes in one breath.

Since it was early, the restaurant wasn’t very crowded, so the dishes were served quickly.

They ate for a while, almost without talking.

At that moment, perhaps feeling the atmosphere was a bit awkward, An Lu said: ”What do you do for a living?”

Zhang Jingdong replied without batting an eye: ”I run a restaurant.”

”A restaurant?” An Lu was somewhat surprised: ”Where is it? I should go and try it sometime.”

”It’s on Self-Reliance Road, opposite West University. But it’s under renovation right now and will officially open next Saturday. If you have time, you can come and take a look.”

An Lu suddenly realized and hesitantly asked: ”Then what did you do before?”

Zhang Jingdong paused for a moment, then honestly said: ”My main job is being a student at West University. I saved some money through some small businesses and then opened this restaurant.”

An Lu was shocked again: ”You’re still a student?”

Zhang Jingdong sipped some lemon water: ”What, can’t students do business and run restaurants?”

An Lu shook her head: ”Of course not... it’s just... opening this restaurant must have required at least a couple hundred thousand, right? You’re still studying and you’ve managed to earn that much money...that’s really rare, you’re quite impressive!”

”The Host has received sincere praise from the target character, reward 20,000 yuan!”

Zhang Jingdong then said: ”Not a couple hundred thousand, but four hundred thousand. I plan to open a boutique Hunan cuisine restaurant!”

”Four hundred thousand?” An Lu’s face showed her surprise, she couldn’t help but ask: ”How... how did you make so much money?”

As soon as she finished speaking, she felt she might have asked something inappropriate, and quickly added: ”If you don’t want to answer, it’s fine, I can understand.”

Zhang Jingdong, in his past life, had read no less than a hundred web novels about rebirth on Qidian and knew all too well about making money through rebirth.

He replied smoothly, without stammering: ”It’s actually quite simple. College students these days all need computers, and I became a campus agent for a computer mall.”

”For every computer I sold, they gave me a commission of 300 yuan, and besides that, I also sold some related products like USB drives on the side.”

”What year are you in college?”

”Freshman, I’ll be a sophomore this September.”

An Lu’s eyes widened: ”So you’ve only been doing this for less than a year!”

Zhang Jingdong liked her reaction at this moment and feigned nonchalance: ”Yeah.”

An Lu commented admiringly: ”You really are something!”

The two went back to quietly eating.

Then Zhang Jingdong finally asked: ”Didn’t you say you had something to talk to me about? Tell me, what is it?”

An Lu suddenly looked distressed and hesitated before saying: ”I called Liu Guokang today...”

Seeing Zhang Jingdong’s puzzled expression, she quickly explained: ”The person who drugged me last night.”

”Not only did he not admit his wrongdoing, but he also turned the tables on me... plus he asked for information about you. I didn’t tell him, of course, but he said he definitely won’t let you off...”

As she spoke, An Lu looked apologetic: ”I’m sorry, it’s because of me that you...”

Zhang Jingdong waved his hand: ”Don’t worry, he’s just bluffing to scare you!”

Hearing this, An Lu quickly said: ”Not necessarily... he’s a wealthy second-generation local, so you really must be careful from now on, just in case...”

Zhang Jingdong interrupted her: ”Did he threaten you?”

An Lu bit her lip, then nodded: ”Yeah.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll call the police if it comes to that!”

”I’ve also told my colleagues, if something happens to me, they’ll help call the police, and tell the police it’s Liu Guokang’s doing.”

Zhang Jingdong saw the fear in An Lu’s eyes and immediately said: ”Don’t worry, I won’t let him succeed!”

An Lu clearly didn’t understand Zhang Jingdong’s implication: ”For the time being, it’s best you stay on campus. It so happens your restaurant is near your university, and he wouldn’t dare go to your university looking for you, no matter how daring.”

Zhang Jingdong knew that no matter what he said, he couldn’t completely remove her fear at the moment, especially since the other party was clearly a shameless rich second-generation capable of anything.

He simply said: ”Okay, if you run into any danger, just call me anytime. We should at least watch out for each other.”

An Lu nodded blankly: ”Okay.”

Half an hour later, they finished their meal and left Yulinglong.

Just as they reached the roadside, suddenly a group of people appeared, around five or six in number.

The leader was none other than Liu Guokang!
