As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 112: Chapter 10 - Just A Pure Luck

It didn’t take long for a fight between the Head Maid and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld to break out.

Luckily, I had already saved myself by standing next to Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg. Without her waving hand to catch my attention, I would have surely been caught in some trouble.

The Head Maid threw a knife at high speed, breaking the speed of sound and creating a supersonic crack that filling my ears. Her high-speed knife throw aimed for the Duchess, but missed her body, which was already trained to evade a dangerous threats.

The Duke must have been proud of a wife who could protect herself and wasn’t spoiled, treating the Head Maid’s attacks as adorable child’s play.

Her hand suddenly grabbed a high-speed throwing knife and threw it back at the Head Maid as a counterattack.

”...”

The rapid attack events filled my vision. I blinked to make sure my eyes were okay, and pinched my cheeks to make sure all of this wasn’t a dream.

Nyyuuuttt...

Nyyuuuttt...

”Oww!! It hurts... which means this isn’t a dream,” I mumbled after pinching my cheek hard.

”Fufu~ do you think this is all a dream, Liliana?”

”If it’s not a dream... what else is it? This is the first time I’ve seen a knife throw that fast!” I replied in an excited tone.

”Don’t be too surprised by the abilities of those who have mastered a swordsmanship skill, Liliana. They have both mastered advanced sword techniques and are officially on the same level. Playing around with high-speed knife throws has been a daily occurrence for them in the past.”

”T-They used to do that kind of thing in the past?” I asked further, unable to understand the Marchioness’s words on this matter.

Doctor Julia had already given me information about Head Maid’s naughty and delinquent past, but the information about her always fighting on the same level with the Duchess was new to me.

”Well, not always, but whenever they get the chance to do it, they’ll have this kind of fight.”

”Uhm, Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg... You seem to be used to all this.”

”I was in the same class as them at the Royal Belfast Academy. It’s not surprising to see them arguing like this, Liliana.”

I’d heard that life partners weren’t that different in personality, but to see a maid with a personality that wasn’t that different from her mistress... that was an eye-opening to all the possibilities in this novel’s world.

”So this has become a common occurrence, huh?”

I kept muttering about unimportant things lately. Whether it was culture shock or not understanding the unique intimacy around me, I was easily distracted by unimportant surprises.

Next time, I’ll make sure I’m not too surprised by the Head Maid’s closeness to Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld. It won’t do me any good to be constantly surprised by how close they are... with sweet violence.

”As you can see, Liliana. They are so close that they can joke around using their thick killing intent in the air.”

I’d promised myself not to be easily surprised by their relationship, but my jaw still dropped open when I saw the Head Maid’s murderous intent brimming in the air. The Duchess’s grin betrayed her uncontrollable intent to kill too, hidden behind a friendly smile she always do. With a throwing knife in her hand, she intended to do something even more ”friendly” than before.

This situation left me confused and at a loss for what to do. All I could do was watch their movements. The murderous intent caused most of the maids on duty in the front garden to freeze, become frightened, and run for their safety.

Some of them ran towards Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg; as the greatest witch in the Kingdom of Belfast, she was the only hope they could rely on when a real fight broke out.

The impact of the Head Maid’s fast, supersonic knife throw was not very visible, but it cut a long, straight line through the flowerbed in front garden of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s Mansion.

It even made Master Reina and Master Amagi, who had finished their morning running route, look pale.

Amidst this thick threat of murderous intent, I have to save them as a maid serving them, huh?

Somehow, it felt like a call of duty to save them from the killing threat.

I took a deep breath and watched the fight that was about to happen before my eyes. While observing every movement of the Head Maid who was holding another throwing knife, I walked with calculated steps.

Mistakes in dodging attacks, delayed responses to danger detection, and the risk of being hit by a thrown knife filled my head. But I had to overcome these fears to save my two clueless Masters.

The intensive training they undergo is made even more exciting by a small quarrel between the Head Maid and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld.

Tap...

Tap...

Walking with slow and steady steps, I entered the danger zone that served as the path for the Head Maid’s swift knife throws. Closing my eyes for a moment to feel the wind blowing around me, I relied on instinct and the threat of death to get through this path of death.

Listening to the sounds that enter my ears will feel useless after Head Maid’s throwing knives break the supersonic sound barrier.

Looking at it directly... that would also be a futile and stupid act, because my eyes are not skilled enough to see objects traveling faster than the speed of sound.

There’s no point in thinking rationally when faced with this kind of irrational skill. Surviving their attack is a stroke of luck for me. Even if I were the one hit by the knife, Doctor Julia would be the one working tirelessly to take care of me.

Yup, there are no downsides to doing this crazy act...

As long as my body can be a useful shield for Master Reina and Master Amagi, that’s enough for me...

If I think about it more deeply, perhaps this will be a beautiful tragedy of a maid trying to protect her Master.

Without fear of what might happen next, I continued to move forward, past the point of death that could come at any time.

Swwwrrreeetttt...

Swwwrrreeettt...

A knife flew before my eyes, trembling unsteadily. I caught a glimpse of its hilt trembling against the thin air pressure. At a speed beyond the eye’s grasp, I could see it clearly, only for a moment.

Ignoring what was happening before me, I continued walking along this line of death. Master Reina and Master Amagi stared at me in awe, their previously terrified faces seemingly seeing hope in me.

”You have worked hard in this intensive training, Master Reina.”

”I will give you a special reward that you have never felt before,” I said to calm Master Reina, who was silent in front of me.

After crossing that terrifying line of death, I pulled Master Reina’s arm and positioned her body in my arms, holding her like a princess.

”W-Wait a minute, Liliana!”

”I still haven’t prepared my heart for this!”

I ignored Master Reina’s words and smiled gently at her. The petty argument between the Head Maid and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld was still raging in front of us.

”Please stand in front of me, Master Amagi.”

”You’ll get hurt if you’re on the opposite side,” I said as I positioned myself to walk sideways.

With my hands busy carrying Master Reina like a princess, I sacrificed my back as a shield. Protecting them both had become my personal duty, despite my status as an apprentice maid.

Srreeesshhh...

Master Amagi held my hand, which was holding Master Reina.

”Why didn’t you drop Reina off and come back for me?” Master Amagi asked with a soft, pleading look in her eyes.

”It would take too much time, and it would be too dangerous to leave Master Amagi alone,” I replied with a smile at her.

”U-Uuhh! That’s not what I meant!” Master Amagi suddenly puffed out her cheeks and looked at Master Reina, who was smiling contentedly in my princess carry.

”Kukuku~ jealous of my closeness with Liliana? You have to get used to our closeness soon, Amagi,” said Master Reina, who sounded like she was teasing Master Amagi about our closeness.

”Then... I’ll do this embarrassing thing!” Master Amagi suddenly hugged my right arm.

Slluussshhh!!

”H-Hey! Don’t hug Liliana’s arm while she’s carrying me!”

”Don’t ruin my closeness with Liliana, Amagi!”

Master Reina screamed in my princess carry style, but Master Amagi ignored her and seemed to be enjoying this moment. We walked past the line of death, slowly by slowly, afraid of being hit by the Head Maid’s knife. With Master Amagi holding my right arm, my plan to use my body as a shield was completely foiled.

Tap...

Tap...

Tap...

We walked through a dangerous area. The knives flying past us seemed to have no dignity after Master Reina and Master Amagi chuckled. I didn’t understand what they were laughing about; honestly, this wasn’t the time to be laughing and being this relaxed.

”Pfffttt!! This feels funny. I was scared to go through these high-speed throwing knives. But being carried like this by Liliana... Looks like this fast knife throwing isn’t so bad,” said Master Reina while poking my cheek with her finger.

Twwiiittt...

Twwiiittt...

That little poke made me look at her; Master Reina looked happy with this dangerous situation.

Compared to Master Reina, who looked happy, Master Amagi pulled my arm even tighter to get my attention.

Shrrruusshh...

”Neeee~ Liliana, would you have done the same thing to me... if I had waited any longer?” Master Amagi asked as she rubbed her cheek on my right arm.

”Of course not! You were already carried like this this morning, Amagi! Now it’s my turn!” Master Reina retorted, which happened to be my answer.

”I’m not asking you, Reina! I’m asking Liliana!” Master Amagi snapped, still sounding cute.

Besides the Head Maid and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld, who were bickering behind our backs, it seems that Master Reina and Master Amagi will be following in their footsteps to make quarrel.

”You two still have the energy to argue, huh? Please don’t do that or you two won’t have breakfast with me,” I said, trying to break up this small argument.

”Ugh, This is so annoying to do. But sure... let’s eat breakfast together, Liliana!” Master Reina replied quickly.

”I don’t mind to let it past. Please just eat breakfast with me, Liliana!” Master Amagi chimed in with warm smile.

Uh, this sounds weird...

At least... Breaking up their soon-to-be-quarrel wasn’t as difficult as breaking up the fight between the Head Maid and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld.
