As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 110: Chapter 8 - Being Part Of Intensive Training

I changed.

Not literally, but in figurative language. The maid uniform I’d been wearing suddenly disappeared, replaced by a more revealing one that exposed my underarms. It was still the same sleeveless maid uniform, but this time it was much more modest, with a lot details that revealed less of my chest.

As an innocent and polite little girl, this was too casual uniform for an apprentice maid to wear.

What kind of pervert designed these maid uniforms?

If I knew who it was, I would have given him a hard punch to the gut. As far as I knew, this was the maid uniform typically worn by the maids of Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg’s family. There was a reason for the sleeveless design and the way it exposed my armpits, but I didn’t dare asking it at this point.

I was currently in the front yard of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s Main Mansion, which was already bustling with the morning activities of the maids. Some of the maids on duty in the front garden were busy sweeping fallen leaves with brooms, while others were busy tending the plants in the front garden.

From a distance, I could see the Head Maid running behind Master Reina and Master Amagi. The two of them had yet to complete their training on the deadly trap-filled route. The ground beneath them was slightly damp from the morning dew, and the traces of the dug traps were starting to fade, becoming hard to spot than before.

The point of this intensive training is to activate their danger-detection abilities. It’s a bit extreme to do, like a mother bird pushing her chick out of a high nest so it can fly.

Yeah, Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s technique is brutal like a mother bird to teach her chick to fly, but worth the results.

And here I am, the results of extreme training, already mastering danger detection and polish out my survival instinct.

Since this was the second day of the same training schedule, Master Amagi and Master Reina kept their eyes on the Head Maid. They were too cautious of attacks from behind to notice the surprise attack ahead. Besides the trap that would activate when the thin thread was touched, they also had to pay attention to the situation above their heads.

And for that one thing, somehow it became my responsibility.

”Is it really okay for me to do this, Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld?” I asked the Duchess, who was sitting beside me.

I remained standing beside her since Master Reina and Master Amagi’s intensive training started, holding a sharp throwing knife with the tip wrapped in thick cloth.

”There’s no need to hesitate to do it, Liliana. What you’re doing is long-range knife-throwing training. It doesn’t have to be accurate, just enough to surprise my cute daughter with a betrayal that triggers her survival instinct.”

”You mean... to trigger Master Reina and Master Amagi danger detection ability, right?” I replied, correcting Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s words.

”Yes, that’s one of the main goals. But for you... make sure to throw the knife without them knowing.”

The order sounded easy for the Duchess to carry out, but for me, who had rarely handled a throwing knife in the past or present, it felt like a coercive order.

”T-Throwing knives, huh?”

”I-I don’t even know how,” I muttered under my breath.

Carrying out the Duchess’s orders will be difficult.

For the sake of Master Reina and Master Amagi’s future, I must activate their danger detection abilities with these throwing knives.

I weighed the throwing knife in my hand. Without the cloth wrapped around the blade, its heaviest point was at the sharp tip. With this thick cloth wrapped around it, the tip became even heavier, throwing off its balance.

The only knife I ever use is a kitchen knife for cooking.

And now, I hold throwing knives as a tool to awaken the hidden abilities of my two beloved Masters?

That would be the sweetest betrayal ever...

There’s no other option but to fulfill the Duchess’s orders, huh?

Swwiirrrrlll...

Swwiiirrlll...

I threw the knife into the air to observe its impact. After a few spins, it stopped with its sharp tip in front of me, as if it were designed to spin in the air before its sharp point struck its target.

This was the first time I had held a sharp throwing knife, but somehow my hands felt used to holding it.

Tap....

Tap...

Taking a small step forward, my gaze fell on the Head Maid running behind Master Amagi and Master Reina. From their distance, they shouldn’t have been able to see me, who was at the very back.

I rotated my wrists to loosen my muscles, moving my upper arms that had been injured in this intensive training before, and feeling the sensation of the cool morning air.

”I’m sorry, Master Reina...”

”I also want to apologize to you, Master Amagi...”

”Please... I’m doing this so that your future will be safe.”

With that somewhat forced excuse, I assumed an amateurish knife-throwing stance will hit them. Whether my hand movements were correct or incorrect, at least my knife throw would be a surprise attack.

An itch on my face turned into a smile. Perhaps I’d take this opportunity to play a prank on Master Amagi and Master Reina.

Without turning my arm, I immediately threw the knife in my hand.

Without caring whether it was the right or wrong move, my hand happily released the throwing knife, which was now flying towards the Head Maid.

Baaassshhh!!

”H-Huuhh??” My eyes widened slightly after seeing my knife thrown so fast towards the Head Maid.

Almost... Hitting her.

It even surprised me, how accurate my throwing knife!

”E-Eeehh??” I, who couldn’t contain my surprise, secretly glanced at Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg.

She pretended to be reading my handwritten magic book and was busy adding her handwriting with a quill in right hand, but her left hand was busy casting strengthening magic on me.

The Duchess threw another throwing knife at me, the tip wrapped in thick cloth enough to secure the tip and do a quick throw.

”Nice throw, Liliana!”

”Continue until they both get the danger detection ability!”

From the corner of my eye, which had already deemed this intensive training insane, I felt the Duchess was enjoying this life-and-death training a little too much. The intensive training I’d been through felt different, much more raw, and without such safeguards.

There is a gap in intensive training that I feel, but I cannot protest this because of the intensive training contract that I have agreed to.

My hand caught the throwing knife from Duchess and turned back to the Head Maid, who was covering my body from Master Reina and Master Amagi’s perspective. The attack from her blind spot would have been easily avoided thanks to her combat experience. However, for the inexperienced Master Amagi and Master Reina, it was a surprise attack they couldn’t have anticipated.

BAAASSSHHHH!!

BBAAASSSHHHH!!

Two throwing knives shot towards the Head Maid, just as she stopped after seeing Master Amagi and Master Reina stuck in the mud, my attack came. Their expressions were discomfited by the mud on their feet, but they quickly changed when they saw the two throwing knives pass through the Head Maid’s body.

They can see it?

From that distance?

”Um, Duchess...” I wanted to report that to Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld.

”They seem to have sensed the danger from the long-range attack. Do as before, Liliana.”

Nod...

I nodded. Master Amagi and Master Reina saw my knife trajectory, so it was definitely not a coincidence.

Their feet, trapped in the mud, were freed from the trap, and they ran past obstacles and traps that could easily be avoided. The Duchess threw four throwing knives at me. There was only one small chance left to determine whether they had mastered the danger detection skill or not.

By utilizing Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg’s strengthening magic, I threw a knife specifically aimed at the Head Maid. Much faster and more powerful than before.

BAAAASSSHHH!!

Holding back my irritation to the Head Maid, I slightly aimed my knife at her thigh so I could pretend to have done it by accident. If it actually hit her.

The Head Maid dodged it well, prompting a small gasp from me.

”Tch! That was almost hit her thigh!” I grumbled, making sure Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld didn’t hear it.

BBAAASSSHHH!!

A second knife throw followed, this time aimed at Master Reina’s head, who was dodging the arrow trap from her right. I deliberately threw the knife to her left, blocking her evasive route. With a swift movement, Master Reina twisted to the side, allowing the arrow to pass her, and ignoring my knife throw to her left.

It happened in a flash before Master Reina entered the running route to the back of the Main Mansion.

Now, my last chance to attack Master Amagi is her right flank, which is full of openings. Master Amagi takes a slightly different route than Master Reina, rarely triggering the thin thread traps on the ground, and that gives me a great opportunity to play tricks on her.

I immediately removed the thick cloth that was wrapped around the sharp part of the throwing knife.

”What are you doing, Liliana?” asked the Duchess, curious about my actions.

”Just wanted to give Master Amagi a full surprise attack,” I replied with a smile full of satisfaction at this.

”D-Don’t overdo it, Liliana. We do have a great Doctor, but don’t let Doctor Julia be surprised by seeing victims dying in my intensive training program.”

The Duchess said that after I became her victim every day?

Her words are the opposite of the previous incident!

BAAASSSHHH!!

I threw my knife quickly. This time, the target wasn’t the Head Maid or Master Amagi directly, but a thin thread on the ground that would activate a chain trap.

I don’t know why, but I seem to be an expert at throwing knives from a long distance.

Although it’s mostly aided by Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg’s enhancement magic.

At least, I know I’m good at this...

Cttaaassshhh!!

Ctttaassshhh!!

Ctttaassshhh!!

My knife throw hit a row of thin threads on the ground, triggering all the deadly traps scattered in the air.

It seems... I overdid it in testing Master Amagi’s abilities.

That would be a valuable experience for her, right?
