As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 103: Chapter 1 - Marchioness Magic Training Plan

The red flag in my hand fluttered in the early morning breeze. The sparkle of a split fireball hissed across the empty ground. It tried to ignite something, but failed.

The fatigue I felt right now stemmed from the extreme movement of my hands. They were shaking violently after trying to save myself from imminent death. Casting Gravitia Break was indeed exhausting, far more hard than casting Fireball, which was simply released attack spell and so easy to do.

Maintaining magic form and releasing it are vastly different. The more I understand the rules of magic in this world, the more variations I discover in magic properties. It’s like discovering the laws of science in a fantasy world, the only difference being that the logic of magic must make sense.

I walked with a red flag in my hand, and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld applauded my success. This intense training grew increasingly crazy as the difficulty increased. My magic technique and dexterity had indeed improved, but the shock of the training was worth it on my body.

”I knew you could do it, Liliana.”

”Sooner or later, you will mastering my family’s sword technique. Your physical enhancement and body agility have reached the minimum requirement for learning the Von Roseline sword technique.”

”My family is quite troublesome in determining the minimum requirement of their sword techniques. No wonder I’m the only one who has mastered my family’s sword techniques. I hope you and Reina can mastering them without a hitch.”

That high expectation came from Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld. She expected Master Reina and me to master her family’s unique sword technique. I had witnessed her beautiful and elegant sword technique. Every slash she executed felt heavy and precise, possessing an elegance that was difficult to grasp from the eyes of a commoner like me.

In my novel, I might write it as an ”elegant sword technique.” But in reality, it’s a very difficult sword technique to learn with limited mana capacity.

”I don’t know how to answer, my esteemed Duchess.”

”Just surviving this intensive training is already a proud achievement for me,” I replied with a little sarcasm, slightly expecting the Duchess to hold back in this intensive training.

The Duchess laughed softly; she pulled my arm after seeing my unsteady footsteps.

”You say it in an annoyed tone, but you like this intensive training, don’t you?” the Duchess replied, as if forcing me to like her training.

”What sane maid would enjoy this intensive training!” I quickly replied.

”Hahaha!! See for yourself, okay? You’re so excited on this cold morning. Prepare yourself to get used to this training soon, Liliana!

”I don’t want to!”

My harsh refusal felt like a gust of wind blowing in the Duchess’s right ear and out her left. She ignored my refusal and dragged me out of this empty expanse of land.

From a distance, Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg had not yet finished her reading. My handwritten magic book was still on her lap, slowly being read, accompanied by a bright orb of light shining beside Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg like a reading lamp.

Accompanied by the Head Maid standing beside a trolley filled with teapots, teacups, and some smoked meat snacks, it triggered a hunger in my stomach.

Krrruuttt...

Krruuuttt...

The sound of my hungry stomach this morning caught the Duchess’s attention; she was still pulling my arm to walk faster towards the Head Maid and Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg.

Our approaching footsteps disturbed the Marchioness, who glanced at us as she placed my handwritten magic book on the table. The Head Maid quickly prepared hot tea and smoked meat snacks to fill our stomachs before breakfast arrived.

”Oh, why are you done so early?” asked Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg, her eyes fixed on the red flag and wooden sword in my hands.

”Duchess... Are you cheating again with our bet?”

”How long are you going to act so childish?”

The Marchioness seemed to grasp what had happened with a single glance. She seemed to have guessed Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s cheap and cunning nature in several ways.

”I didn’t cheat. Liliana was the one who begged me to lend her a wooden sword to help her cut through the rain of fireballs,” the Duchess replied with a shrug, as if she were innocent about the matter.

”You’ve clearly cheated by helping Liliana. Finding another way to get past that hail of fireballs should take anywhere from a week to three months. If that’s already passed... what should we do with Liliana’s training next?”

”Don’t worry, Liliana’s intensive training schedule will be packed with me. She has already met the minimum requirement for mastering my family’s sword technique.”

”Really? That’s a lot faster than it should be, right?”

”Yes, it is indeed faster. That’s because Liliana is talented in controlling her mana and her body’s reflexes. Training her to the brink of death was indeed the right choice. Isn’t that right, Liliana?”

My face turned pale after hearing Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s words.

The crazy training I’ve been going through all this time is on the verge of death?

It’s answering to every injury and wound I experienced during training.

All of that happened because I was on the verge of death training?

”Should I answer with a denial or agreement to my Duchess’s statement?” I asked in an awkward tone.

”There’s no need to be shy in answering it. I want to get closer to Liliana. Just like a master gets along with her own maid. Isn’t that right, Mell?” the Duchess said, glancing at the Head Maid, who was pouring tea into three different cups.

”...” the Head Maid replied wordlessly, completely ignoring Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s words.

”Yes, just like my close relationship with Mell,” continued the Duchess, who considered it a symbol of her closeness with the Head Maid.

”Can that be called close relationship with that silent response?” the Marchioness retorted, pulling her chair back to stand.

”That’s a typical Mell response, which means... yes, but without the tone.”

”I’m sure, it’s just your feeling to comfort yourself.”

My arm, which had been pulled by Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld, was now in the hands of Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg. She carried me to sit with her. I sat on her lap, still dirty from training and wearing my sweaty maid’s nightgown.

My mind can’t process this any further; there’s something wrong about this. But I can’t find the reason about it

”U-Umm.... Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg,” my lips parted with a heavy sense of awkwardness.

”Yes, Liliana?” the Marchioness replied in a gentle tone.

She gently stroked my hair while chanting a small spell that filled my body. It felt like a cool breeze caressing my entire body, from head to toe. The sweat and fatigue in my body vanished, replaced by a soft sensation that filled my entire being.

”I wanted to say that my body was dirty and unworthy of sitting on your lap. But that’s no longer true after my body was cleansed... in this way. W-What kind of magic is that, anyway?” I asked, still feeling awkward.

I actually know that magic. It’s an advanced magic often used by high-ranking nobles to cleanse their bodies quickly. Besides cleansing their bodies, it also cleans their dirty, luxurious clothes. It’s a magic that should be difficult to learn and cast, as everyone’s standards of cleanliness vary.

In this case, I feel Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg’s standard of cleanliness is being free from sweat and dirt. I’d rather take a shower than use this magic to cleanse myself.

”Simple magic to cleanse the body. Easy enough to learn if you’re interested, Liliana.”

”I-Is that simple magic? It sounds complicated with every incantation. It must be quite a complex imagination, right?” I replied, staring at my handwritten magic book, open to the latest Chapter.

There is a small note in the Chapter title; besides a warning from me as the author, there is a small note from Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg which says the risk of failure is borne by the reader.

My warning note may seem like an unnecessary threat, which is why Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg added her handwritten warning note.

”It’s not as complicated as cleaning clothes with both hands,” she replied as she lowered her hand to my cheek.

”For a maid like you, it seems like it would be a much more useful and cleaner magic. Because the most difficult thing about casting this magic is imagining cleanliness.”

”I don’t really understand the concept of truly clean. So I use this magic chant to clean basic things like removing sweat and dirt from clothes. Not very clean for Liliana, right?”

Squuuueesshhh...

Sqquuuuesshhh...

Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg said this while pulling my cheek. Her pulling my cheek seemed to be a routine she had to do while holding me in her lap.

”I-I don’t know. It doesn’t feel as refreshing as taking a shower in the morning, though. The sweat stuck to the skin might disappear... but it feels strange if it disappears along with clean clothes all of a sudden.”

”That’s sounds strange; that’s why I rarely use this cleaning magic. Let’s forget about it. I want to discuss another matter, like the magic training you’ll be undergoing with Amagi.”

”Huumm??” I seemed to hear Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg wanting to ask me for something.

”Reading this handwritten magic book of yours. It feels like it would be a waste to teach Amagi the magic I’ve learned. This magic book you wrote has a new fundamental concept and contradicts the magic concepts in the past. I want Amagi to learn the magic you developed rather than being stuck with the old magic concepts. Liliana... you feel that way after reading another magic book, right?”

My face felt stiff when Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg said her intention.

”Your handwritten magic book is revolutionary, Liliana...”

”Please share your knowledge with Amagi too; I’m begging you,” she said with sincerity.
