As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 65: Chapter 64 - Drawing Manga For Medical Book Kids

The theory of delayed magic casting has been proven to be possible.

I intentionally created a 10-second gap with a short 4-second pause; I need to test it for a minute longer to gather additional information.

Before I could do that, I fell asleep in a chair and slept deeply until noon. When I woke up, I found myself in Doctor Julia’s office, and watching her enjoy a snack of cookies.

There was no important activity that she could do other than caring for and maintaining the health of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s family.

I woke up with a sore head and a stiff body. My stretching felt useless after my muscles felt so stiff when wake-up.

”Uhh...” A small groan came out of my mouth after feeling my stiff muscles.

That made Doctor Julia glance at me.

”My poor patient has woken up. How was your first day of training, Liliana?”

”Fallen from exhaustion after casting an interesting new magic technique?”

”You don’t hesitate to show off your talents and abilities, do you?”

That statement sounded like sarcasm to me.

”I think I do have a talent for magic,” I replied, swallowing Doctor Julia’s seemingly ordinary sarcasm.

It’s not the sarcasm that makes me angry, but rather the sarcasm that makes me excited to train myself even better.

At least, I can understand that Liliana has a small mana capacity and needs to manage her magic abilities so that she can last longer.

When fighting Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld in close-quarters combat training, I was able to control the Gravitia Break magic invocation. However, when it comes to delayed-activation magic, there are still some flaws in my imagination that need to be corrected.

That delayed Fireball incantation...

It shouldn’t drain mana so quickly and induce drowsiness after a mana drain.

”Even if you have talent, you have to be careful and pay attention to your own abilities, Liliana.”

”Forcing a small glass to hold a liter of water, that’s not going to happen. You need to take several steps to get the glass to hold a liter of water. Just like that.”

”The mana you use is also the same. Don’t use large amounts of mana that will quickly make you tired after using it. Managing mana limits is a basic skill of a mage.”

Doctor Julia’s explanation sounded hilarious. It sounded like she was a mage who had lived in a magical world for long time.

”That’s what Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg said,” Doctor Julia continued as she handed me a bottle of blue mana recovery potion from her doctor’s uniform pocket.

”I almost believed you when you said those wise words. It turns out they were from the Marchioness...” I replied as I accepted the mana recovery potion from Doctor Julia.

”Me? Having words of wisdom that only witches know? Don’t joke... I’m just a doctor, Liliana.”

The bottle I received was small and bright blue, making it look like a dyed isotonic drink. I didn’t think twice and drank it immediately. The taste was slightly bland, with a bitter aftertaste of crushed leaves. It’s not suitable for drinking straight, unless necessary.

Maybe it’s my own fault that the healing potions in this novel’s world are so bland. Like the mana potions are based on leaves, and the healing potions are based on fish oil.

Oh, I remember the ointment my mother bought...

That pungent, foul odor... it was definitely from that cheap, fishy fish oil.

No wonder I hated that stinky bottle of ointment.

Besides the uncreative magic incantation techniques, there are still alchemical techniques that do not develop without the effort of experimenting with other raw materials.

Ah, I remember now...

All of these developments will occur when the main character in this world enters the Belfast Royal Academy.

I almost forgot about it.

Before the main character appears, I have to endure ancient magic spells and these bitter mana recovery potions. It’s really annoying.

Gluuppp...

Gluuppp...

I closed my eyes and felt every bitter taste that went down my throat.

”Oh! Before I forget. Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld entrusted this to me.”

Claaaappp...

Kllaappp...

Four pieces of gold that glowed under the reflection of the sun entered my sight. The glowing color of the piece attracted my hand to take it quickly.

”I-I’m really being paid one gold piece to accompany Master Reina and Master Amagi to train?”

”This isn’t a dream, is it?”

”Wait... why did I get four gold pieces?”

I wanted to ask Doctor Julia a few questions, but she shrugged her shoulders as if she didn’t know anything about the three extra gold pieces.

I didn’t see it wrong, right?

Kacrringg...

Kacrringg...

The sound of four gold pieces feeling light in my hand.

”Oh, is this how it feels to hold a gold piece that is heavier than a gram of gold?”

”I hope this isn’t a dream...” I muttered as I thought about the expensive gram of gold in my old world.

I never dreamed I’d hold a gold coin like this. Just by its weight, it’s equivalent to buying seventeen motorcycles on Earth.

Oh, how beautiful this other world filled with fantasy is.

”You seem very happy with your first paycheck?” said Doctor Julia, looking at the small table beside me.

”Is writing a magic book fun, Liliana?”

The question came from Doctor Julia’s curiosity when she saw an old magic book side by side with a thick, blank book and some writing equipment.

”I didn’t feel happy after reading the first line, though...” I answered honestly.

”Yeah, sure, I wouldn’t be happy if the language was that complicated either. The medical books I read are the same. Isn’t there another way to simplify that complicated language?” asked Doctor Julia, sounding like she was provoking my opinion.

”I don’t know... magic books and medical books are definitely different, right?” I replied as I took the old magic book given to me by Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg and opened it to the first page.

I pointed out a line that contained a complex metaphor and was considered too serious for people in the world of this novel.

”The first line says that magic is a blessing from a Goddess to every living creature in this world. If we take that sentence to think, then every human being born can use magic.”

”Then in the second line... it specifically says that magic uses language and imagination. In other words, there must be incantations from the mouth and imagination in the mind. If this complicated language is swallowed raw, then other languages can be used to cast magic.”

”These are the principles of magic written in the magic book, which contain imagination, use of language, and belief in magic.”

”Medical books are definitely different from this, right?”

I gave Doctor Julia a simple lengthy presentation of my personal opinion. She took a small book out of her pocket and handed it to me.

”Read it... I want to know your opinion,” said Doctor Julia.

The small book that came out of Doctor Julia’s pocket looked like a notebook. It was thick enough to be a pocketbook. The cover had Doctor Julia’s full name written on it. I grabbed the book and opened it to the first page.

The text I read was Doctor Julia’s personal information of her experiences as a doctor at the residence of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld. No confidential information was leaked, only her experiences as a doctor treating each patient in her office.

She wrote several recipes with detailed dosages for minor ailments like headaches or cuts. The ingredients she used also had Latin names and common names commonly used by ordinary people. Nothing unusual, but easy to understand and imitate.

”What do you think, Liliana?” asked Doctor Julia with a hopeful look in her eyes.

”Not too bad, easy to understand as a note that treats minor ailments, and what is it for?” I replied with another question that made Doctor Julia smile slightly.

”It’s for my little sister who dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up. For her birthday, she wants a medical book that she can read.”

”Oh, I think I understand the problem. The medical books out there... are too complicated for little girls?” I asked, clearly hitting the nail on the head.

If only Doctor Julia could see into the future, she would be the greatest doctor ever, and her handwriting in her medical textbook would change the world in this novel.

Wait a moment...

Could it be... that this little book I’m reading is the forerunner of that famous medical book?

This little book looks like a neat handwritten note, but that’s not the point!

My hand shook for a moment, and I handed it back to Doctor Julia.

”The book isn’t too complicated, but it would be better to draw illustrations and a funny story to attract children’s interest to reading it. If the book is filled with boring writing, I’m also lazy to read it,” I said while taking the blank book the Marchioness had given me from the table and drawing a simple, cute illustration using a quill.

Srreettt...

Srreettt...

With small scribbles on a blank sheet of paper, I drew a cute four-panel manga about first aid for a fall. The drawing wasn’t too complicated, just cleaning the wound with clean water and wrapping it with a clean, dry bandage after pouring first aid potion.

”For example, like this...” I continued while showing Doctor Julia a four-panel manga.

Doctor Julia immediately took the book containing my drawing.

”This isn’t too bad to add to the book.”

”Is there anything else you can draw, Liliana?” asked Doctor Julia, sounding like she was challenging my ability to draw human anatomy and cute chibi characters to explain something.

I took the book in Doctor Julia’s hand and drew a chibi version of a famous female doctor character in my old world.

I hope this drawing of my hand does not violate copyright.

”L-Like this?” I replied, showing her my new drawing, causing Doctor Julia to pull my hand.

”Let’s get married! Uh, I mean collaborate on a work, Liliana!” said Doctor Julia with an excited look in her eyes.

Uh, it seems... I just awakened another soul sleeping inside Doctor Julia’s body.
