I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 649: Chapter 78: 2011, Part 2

In the 63rd minute, Kaka took the ball on the flank and advanced. After breaking into the penalty area, he passed the ball horizontally, and Negredo took a shot from the center, with the ball grazing the post and going wide.

After this shot, Mourinho substituted Di Maria for Kaka.

Kaka had been frequently fouled by Levante during this period, and Mourinho was a bit worried about him getting injured.

Di Maria, just a minute after coming onto the field, created a threatening play. He chipped the ball to Negredo, who attempted a powerful shot from the left of the penalty area, but it was ruled offside.

Mourinho frowned and a few minutes later replaced Negredo with Benzema.

Negredo showed no reaction.

In the 70th minute, Chen Zhong retreated and intercepted the ball in the backfield, then launched a long pass to the front. Di Maria received the long pass on the right and crossed it in, Benzema headed it back, and Chen Zhong, who moved forward, fired a heavy cannon shot.

A super long-range world wave, which made the fans in the stands cheer incessantly.

This was also Chen Zhong’s second goal.

6:0

After scoring a super world wave, Florentino was waving his arms and looked very happy.

This super world wave seemed to have directly drained Levante’s spirit, and Real Madrid launched another attack two minutes later.

Di Maria, after tricking Munua on the right side of the penalty area, passed it back, and Chen Zhong, from 10 yards in the right flank of the penalty area, shot at an angle and scored.

”Hat trick!”

”Chen Zhong completed a hat trick.”

”This is his first hat trick in the King’s Cup this season.”

”7:0”

”After receiving the pass in front of goal, he calmly scored.”

”A top-tier terminator is always ready to score.”

Chen Zhong completed a hat trick, and Florentino smiled like a flower.

After that, the match became somewhat dull, and Mourinho used his final substitution to take off Chen Zhong and let him enjoy the applause from the entire stadium.

Granero, who came on, in the 90th minute, shifted the ball to Di Maria, who after dodging two players, curled a shot, and the ball found the net.

8:0

Real Madrid achieved a great victory.

However, at the post-match press conference, when Mourinho, smiling, was about to say something, the reporters kept pressing him for an explanation of his conflict with Valdano. Yet, Mourinho didn’t answer directly and instead postponed it to next time.

And at the following pre-match press conference against Getafe, when the Spanish football reporters eagerly arrived to hear Mourinho’s explanation of the conflict with Valdano and hoped to dig up some juicy news, they found themselves disappointed—Mourinho didn’t show up.

He didn’t even attend the day’s press conference.

According to tradition, the team’s head coach is supposed to attend the pre-match press conference.

It was Mourinho’s assistant Kalanca who appeared at the press conference.

No matter what Kalanca said, several media outlets analyzed the situation after the match.

Marca believed that there was no convincing reason for Mourinho to refuse to attend the press conference. The only explanation is that Mourinho didn’t want to add fuel to the fire and let the media further hype his conflict with the management.

The media also dug into the details after that match ended.

After the match against Sevilla, although Mourinho didn’t initially want to talk about the referee, Real Madrid’s referee advisor, former La Liga referee Davila, gave him a paper listing 13 refereeing mistakes for him to read out loud.

The paper provided by Valdano’s subordinate made Mourinho very uncomfortable.

At the press conference, the Portuguese bluntly expressed his dissatisfaction with Valdano, saying the Argentine wasn’t capable, yet wanted him to take the heat, ”It’s easy for someone to hide behind the head coach.”

Florentino recently mediated the related conflicts at the Christmas dinner. It seemed the Christmas meal worked to ease the tension, bringing people out of the shadow of Mourinho’s explosive press conference.

However, from the cold relationship between Mourinho and Valdano, one couldn’t see any signs of reconciliation. Nonetheless, Mourinho hoped to bring this matter to a screeching halt by adopting a ’silence policy.’

Florentino also hoped to ”extinguish the fire,” and the Real Madrid president stated, ”The club’s habit is not to discuss referees. Anything necessary to say about referees has already been said by Valdano, who is our spokesperson and best represents the image of our club. Mourinho’s matter is just an episode, a small incident, and now we must all look forward.”

When reporting on Mourinho not attending the press conference, the Spanish media all mentioned the issue of the ”silence policy.” For instance, Diario AS analyzed that Mourinho remained silent because he anticipated that if he appeared at the press conference, all questions from reporters would revolve around his conflict with Valdano, which would further escalate the incident, overshadowing the truly important match itself, which would be very detrimental to Real Madrid. However, after the Getafe match, Mourinho is expected to attend the press conference.
