I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 609: Chapter 59: Messi’s Header? Chen Zhong’s Heavy Cannon! (Part 2)

And just now, Real Madrid’s attack gave people such a feeling.

The Barcelona fans in the stands felt a bit nervous. It’s well known that in a football match, leading by one goal is the least secure and the most nerve-wracking situation.

On the other hand, Real Madrid fans were full of enthusiasm, cheering loudly for the players. Although time was running out, they still firmly believed that the players on the field would give them a satisfactory answer.

After scoring, Kaka didn’t celebrate but ran into the goal and retrieved the ball.

This action drew satisfied cheers from the Real Madrid fans in the stands.

Guardiola hesitated on the sidelines for a moment and decided to use up two substitution slots.

He replaced the somewhat exhausted Xavi and Pedro.

In this match, both teams consumed a lot of stamina. Famous scenes of players sprawling and rolling on the ground took place on the field, and with the match not yet 80 minutes in, Xavi and Pedro visibly could no longer run.

In this match, Xavi had numerous possessions, and his number of passes even exceeded Busquets’. Pedro was like a hardworking little bee, tirelessly running in the front field.

Xavi and Pedro came off, and on came Keita and Hefron.

Bringing on these two energetic substitutes was also an attempt to stabilize the defense.

Although Guardiola didn’t say it explicitly, anyone with insight could feel that this ”famous coach” might want to secure a victory.

”The match has reached the 85th minute.”

”Real Madrid’s attack.”

”Di Maria with the ball.”

”A bit rushed.”

”Bojan with the ball.”

”Advancing with the ball down the right!”

In the stands, Barcelona fans straightened up, craning their necks, their eyes fixed on Bojan.

Di Maria’s reckless handling this time could possibly allow Barcelona to seize the opportunity and score again to secure the win.

Bojan’s speed with the ball on the flanks was very fast. Chen Zhong did not stay in the front field and instead smoothly retreated to defend.

Real Madrid’s defense was very tight, and Bojan lacked confidence. As an offensive player, his fear of failure led Bojan not to choose cutting inside, but to keep the ball at his feet waiting for his teammates to catch up.

Then, like handling a hot potato, Bojan passed the ball away.

Yes, with Bojan on the field, you could even see Messi trying to head the ball.

The ball flew towards Real Madrid’s penalty area, and Messi had already run into position early, jumping ”three feet” high, attempting to head the ball in.

Though he rarely had chances for headers in his career, he could manage some basics.

Alas, Chen Zhong didn’t give Messi a chance to practice his heading.

Bojan’s ”delay” by the sideline not only allowed Barcelona players to position themselves but also gave Chen Zhong a chance to return to his own penalty area, and he immediately located Messi.

Seeing the tall figure in front of him, Messi immediately knew who it was.

He tried to use his short legs to snatch the ball from Chen Zhong’s feet.

But Chen Zhong boldly back-heeled the ball through Messi’s legs.

No way, really?

Me, Messi!

Got nutmegged?

Everyone clearly saw Messi, like a rooster laying eggs, with a ball emerging from behind.

As he turned around to retrieve the ball, Real Madrid players nearby had already poked the ball away.

Guardiola, seeing this on the sidelines, had countless thoughts flood his mind. Why did Bojan send such a cross? Even a low cross would have sufficed!

He didn’t do this before!

But Guardiola’s thoughts didn’t last long, as he was soon attracted by Real Madrid’s subsequent actions.

The ball quickly came to Alonso’s feet, and then to Chen Zhong’s feet.

And by this time, Chen Zhong was already charging forward.

His speed couldn’t be called fast, but it certainly wasn’t slow.

The most important thing was, every step Chen Zhong took was solid, and now even Keita and Iniesta were sticking close to him on either side.

But neither of them could apply any pressure on Chen Zhong.

Initially, Busquets intended to hold his position.

But seeing his teammates being ”led away,” he could only choose to make a proactive move.

And Chen Zhong was waiting for this moment.

The moment Busquets moved, Chen Zhong jostled aside Iniesta next to him and dragged Keita forward, simultaneously giving a through pass to Kaka.

Kaka and Chen Zhong had a good understanding; he had no intention of stopping the ball. When it came to him, he immediately released it, passing it towards the center of the field, behind Busquets.

Busquets initially turned foolishly toward Kaka, but seeing Kaka’s pass, he realized something was wrong.

He quickly turned, and indeed, saw Chen Zhong.

Busquets reached out, attempting to hold and block Chen Zhong, trying to prevent him from facing the defensive line directly. However, Chen Zhong, like a bulldozer, broke free from Busquets’ entanglement.

The Barcelona fans in the stands gasped, and Guardiola inadvertently scratched a blood mark on his face.

All eyes were on Chen Zhong on the field, and Chen Zhong, looking at Puyol and Pique attracted by Cristiano Ronaldo but realizing something was wrong as they tried to close the trap.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he pushed the ball forward.

At that instant, everyone seemed to understand what Chen Zhong intended to do.

Long shot!

Heavy cannon!

Outside the penalty area!

Some had already equated Carlos with Chen Zhong; both had incomparable heavy shots.

Chen Zhong’s gaze was firm as he hit the ball fiercely.

”Boom!”

A dull thud.

The ”door” that the man could not pass through, the ball easily broke through.

All eyes were on Valdes, wanting to see if this Barcelona Door God could keep the ball out.

At this moment, although Valdes was in the right position, it was clear that he picked the wrong opponent.

The ball met his palms with a dull sound.

And at that moment, Valdes confirmed that this was a ball he couldn’t control.

He tried to push the ball outwards, but could only watch helplessly as the ball, after contacting his palms, crashed onto the lower side of the crossbar, then bounced into the goal.

Valdes lost his balance and fell to the ground.

He buried his head deep into the grass, not daring to lift it.

And at this moment, the entire Camp Nou fell into a brief silence, then went wild...

”World-class goal!”

”One super world-class goal.”

”An unstoppable heavy cannon from outside the penalty area.”

”Valdes did as much as he could.”

”He was in the right position where he should have been.”

”But the power of the ball exceeded his control.”

”The ball is in!”

”In the 88th minute of the match.”

”5:5”

”Both teams are back on the same starting line again.”

”Chen Zhong completed a brace.”

”He helped the team equalize the score.”

Guardiola’s gaze was somewhat vacant; he didn’t know who to blame.

Even on the sidelines, in such a noisy stadium, Guardiola could clearly hear that ”boom” from Chen Zhong’s heavy shot.

Valdes did as much as he could, but...

That was Chen Zhong’s heavy shot, comparable to and even surpassing Carlos’ heavy shots, also known as China’s heavy cannon.

Meanwhile, Mourinho was repeatedly punching the air, laughing loudly.

He admitted that at this moment, Chen Zhong excited him, prompting him to compare him favorably with his old Chelsea favorite.

After scoring, Chen Zhong didn’t celebrate.

Instead, he ran towards the goal, retrieved the ball, and confidently ran to the center circle.

Tie?

No!

Not enough yet!
