Chapter 630: Chapter 70: A Final Match

Mourinho hasn’t been in a good mood lately. Though the team just won an away game against Zaragoza, Chen Zhong performed excellently as usual, getting better and better.

But the decisions made by the club management, especially the ”policy” of the club’s general manager Valdano, have made Mourinho feel dissatisfied.

At the recent press conferences, Mourinho has been using various ways to subtly express his dissatisfaction with the ”no signing in winter” policy hosted by the club’s general manager Valdano.

It’s already the third time Mourinho has mentioned the club’s signing policy.

Even though, on the surface, when Mourinho talks during interviews, he says he supports the club’s approach and understands the club’s actions, everyone can hear the hidden dissatisfaction in Mourinho’s words.

Facing reporters’ cameras, Mourinho said, ”I’m the coach, and I’ll use whatever players I have.”

”Everyone has their own ideas, and the club thinks there’s no need to reinforce certain positions in the winter window.”

”So what I need to do is to make the best choices and combinations with the players I currently have.”

”That’s it...”

When this summer window opened, Mourinho hoped the club could bring in a forward he could use smoothly, but Valdano did not fulfill his wish.

And after a period of communication, Mourinho has already determined that the team won’t make ”big moves” in the winter window, which refers to signings above 20 million Euro or even 10 million Euro.

In this regard, Valdano may not fulfill Mourinho’s wish.

After all, in football, forward players are always ”valuable.”

”Signings are managed by the club leadership.”

”I can only offer some suggestions.”

”Our current attack line...”

Mourinho thought for a while and said, ”At the beginning of the season, I talked about the problem of contribution. For example, if you go hunting and only have a cat and a cow with you, it’s definitely not suitable.”

”Of course, it’s also not ideal for one person to go alone; you’re possibly forced to take only a cat or a cow with you.”

”But if you have a good hunting dog, you’ll obviously catch more, and taking a cat or a cow wouldn’t be as effective.”

”Of course, in some ways, it’s all hunting, but that’s exactly the problem.”

These remarks were later interpreted by fans in multiple ways.

Currently, Real Madrid has three strong contenders for the center forward position: Negredo, Higuain, and Benzema.

The ranking most recognized by Real Madrid fans is ”Hunter Higuain, Lazy Cat Benzema, Cumbersome Cow Negredo.”

After making these comments, Mourinho clearly realized he had spoken out of line and quickly clarified: ”Of course, no matter what kind of tactics, the most important thing is to win the game and face the match with courage, not become someone who cries.”

After hearing Mourinho’s metaphor, reporters also brought up the center forward from the second team, Morata.

As for this center forward who ”converted career paths” to Castilla and showed remarkable qualities, Mourinho clearly lacks trust and said, ”I know he is very talented.”

”He’s a genius, but he doesn’t belong to the present; he belongs to the future.”

”I believe he has the potential to do great things, but whether he’s ready is one issue, and whether we have no choice but to use him is another.”

”He needs to meet the high requirements and stability needed by Real Madrid, which evidently requires further growth.”

”The most suitable position for him right now, I think, is on the bench, watching how the veterans play. He is a solution but not the best solution.”

Mourinho still gave some approval to Morata. For this Spanish tall center forward, with balanced feet, strong physique, and decent speed, Mourinho is still quite optimistic.

But playing in matches for Real Madrid is still somewhat lacking.

The time quickly reaches mid-December. After overcoming Barcelona, Mourinho’s Real Madrid seems blessed by the gods, winning every match.

And the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup final, held at the Spain International Stadium, has also garnered widespread attention from fans.

Perhaps many fans are not familiar with the nature of such a match, but winning in such a competition allows players to call themselves world champions.

Moreover, reports will state that the team has won the world champion title.

This match is relatively important for both Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

From a coaching perspective, the Spanish coach Benitez clearly disapproves of Mourinho’s pragmatic football style. After becoming Inter Milan’s coach, he has been committed to eliminating Mourinho’s traces.

He mainly opts for anything Mourinho desires; he doesn’t want it. What Mourinho likes, he doesn’t like.

This also led to Inter Milan’s disastrous performance at the beginning of the season, showing signs of plummeting.

And after Mourinho said in an interview, ”If he just imitates me, he could succeed at Inter Milan,” Benitez was forced to adopt ”Mourinho” tactics, which made him utterly resent Mourinho.

Benitez dislikes Mourinho, and Mourinho also dislikes Benitez.
